It's working fine for me. Seems to work well for both veterans and new players and I tested it out. There are a few issues that need to be addressed, though. Squads leaving matches for whatever reason (good or bad) being the primary issue right now.

The stiffer competition is just fine. I actually enjoy that part of matchmaking. The part that is broken, in my opinion, is never being able to join a fresh match. I would say that since the update 80-90% of the time I join matches that are well underway. I was squadded the other night with some of my FA friends and in 3 hours we never found a fresh match. So we decided to try and run a Dom. We spawned with our squad of 5 vs's 16. |

Two years playing and you can't wait 10 gorram days for them to keep tuning matchmaking?

I'm taking a break till they fix it ..half finished matches plus increase in laggy opponents has made shadows of mordor more interesting ..ill bb ina few weeks to see if it's improved..tbh though I tire of dust ..there just isn't enough content fir my race.. I'm sick of waiting for ccp to stop hating amarrians

I just noticed you didn't mention at all what kind of matches you're experiencing matchmaking problems in. So this brings me to a very important question.
Are you referring to public matches or are you referring to factional warfare?
If you're referring to public matches, please mention which modes you're having problems with. Make sure to send a picture of the end-of-match results to CCP Rattati (either with a smartphone or a screenshot if you can) via email at [email protected]
If you're referring to factional warfare, that would explain your problem because that game mode doesn't have any matchmaking. CCP intentionally left it like that those who don't want to deal with matchmaking and prefer expensive fights. It would also explain why you had to wait 30 minutes for a match to get into. I never had to wait any more than 5 minutes for public matches but I definitely recall having to wait 30-45 minutes to get into a factional warfare match.

You've got it the wrong way round. You're supposed to ask THEM for ISK when the leave.

What's with all these threads about matchmaking being bad? tbh it feels like CCP is screwing with me because it keeps feeling like Skirmish and Domination keep switching the matchmaking on and off. Sometimes I fight normally and sometimes I'm fighting freakin' vets. CCP. Stop. Dat. I can confirm that it's pissing me off, lol.
Anyway, I started a new char and I've wrecked everyone. In the top 5 90% of the time, matchmaking's workin' fine and I'm lovin' it. As for butthurt vets, your rage amuses me. You get what you deserve, to be wrecked by other vets. I am HAPPY that your experiencing that.
4/1/2015 at 3:05pm history was made. CCP Rattati announced the new matchmaking system.

CCP has mentioned that they are occasionally switching matchmaking on and off and analyzing the results. Then they make adjustments based on the results. They're also relying on players like you and me to report on any edge cases that came up on your end.

It'd also help if it was posted here so people don't rage and spam rage threads. I saw no dev mentioning that matchmaking will be turned on/off recently in that thread, only holidays at the office and a request for feedback about uneven matches.
