Because you can lose every match, regardless of the gamemode, due to clone depletion. So all you people who don't care about your KDR in the sense that it leads you to end a match with 18 deaths and 1 kill can go **** yourself. Your bitchass fucks up your teammates W/L ratio with your bullshit.

Except for the fact that a majority of MCC based games like Domination and Skirmish are rarely one via clone count.
Not to mention that Duna has an incredibly high KDR, which by your logic should equal a significantly high W/L ratio, but that isn't the case. My KDR is lower than 1, but my W/L ratio is above, and well above that of Duna.
KDR is insignificant.

There is a chasm difference between "I don't think KDR is too important" and "you will always lose due to clone depletion." That is no different than saying "if Logistics are so important, why can't we win if we only have Logistics!"

When I stopped caring so much about KDR (now it is WP/D I care about) my enjoyment of the game increased tenfold. Hilariously my KDR dropped from 6, to now a bit over 4, which is higher then yours with you caring about your KDR so much...
As long as you're not dying so much that you're spending more time walking back to the action then actually participating, you're doing just fine, and a Logi keeping his team alive with reps hives needles and links but only going 1/2 with 2500 WP is still a damn sight more useful then some random nut going 7/0 with 400 WP.
KDR doesn't mean crap, otherwise we'd all be singing praises to the redline sniper gods taking potshots at militia.
Win/Loss, WP/D, isk efficiency and having fun are what matters, KDR is merely a tool to the end, not the path itself. And honestly winning only means anything in PC and FW, in pubs it is literally meaningless.

A lil harsh but get what you mean I hate losing matches due to either inexperienced or reckless players so padding your kdr is cool n all.I will say this though I run people who are semi newish to game have less variety in there suits so if they lets say skill only logi or scout with semi ok skill n get wrecked due to their lack of support its not entirely their fault |

People used to care about KD/R and W/L ratio... We all thought EVE players where gonna make decisions on who they would invest ISK into for what job based on personal stats of individuals in a group.
CCP never implemented any direct relation or action and consequence... Or even the feeling that we are participating in the New Eden Sandbox to have an affect or change on the game in anyway....
It's gone, the Future of that possibility is gone.
KD/R now is only used for a benchmark for players to join a competitive corporation actively participating in PC... having logistics recruitment at 2.0 and slayers at 3+
Mainly because recruitment and deployment of players in PC has to contain a certain amount of faith that the player sin't throwing their life away to get results.. As Loosing clones unnecessarily can cost you the match and ISK payout for everyone.
The Average Vet doesn't care about KD/R anymore.. They care about dieing to a scrub? Or dieing excessively to win match where a majority of the team is useless. That is about the extent of it |
