So.... You use the recruiter link to farm BPOs with alts that you play?
I let friends set up accounts on my system and then invite them over/drag them over/pay them/give them free drinks to come play. Which effectively means that my recruits only play when there's a party at Greivs house.
But at least its better than reward farming alts for BPOs. Whiiiich is a bannable offense as stated in the recruiter page.
You wanna rethink that admission of guilt?

Who cares if hes guilty or not? CCP's policies push people right into this behavior and its the well known reality that people have a ton of psn accounts if they want to have alts. And here I am using the system as intended with one alt on this same account, and Im getting screwed out of passive XP and items for that alt.

Maybe this thread would serve as a good starter to a discussion about making it less onerous to actually use alt character slots on the same account, so that people can actually use them without feeling like the game is screwing them over while their friends rake in BPOs, newsletter rewards, passive SP, and whatever other one per account event/whatever rewards we ever see in the future.

I will state that the 1 per account when we have 3 characters is pretty silly. Reason being is that PSN accounts are free. From the start CCP has encouraged playing 1 character per account and the method of limiting it to one is just really an inconvenience more than anything. If you want multiple? own multiple PSNs. Link I will say that if that was the original wording then my interpretation would have been correct. (though I always like to have proof and decided to go back to event page;Which I did not know they actually changed any text). Thank you for letting us know about the original text. I guess I will have to chalk this up to miscommunications and misinterpretations.

I care because I not only run alts on one account I also participate in the recruiter program and it has always been clearly stated that reward farming the program is an exploit and a bannable offense. Its one thing to have multiple accounts in separate PSNs, unfortunately CCP really does push players in that direction. Its another to do something that's clearly stated as an exploit and then come brag about it. I agree this should become a platform from which to discuss why legitimate alts are punished and 1 per PSN alts are rewarded. This system is backwards. I don't want to take this in the wrong direction and wind up with accounts tracked by IP address or something equally crazy because 1) my partner won't play dust on her own ps3 bc she's seen dust destroy a couple of mine and laughs that I keep buying new ps3s to play it on even including the charron(I named my last ps3 that bc its a dust dedicated ps3 and came with the guristas saga code. Which didn't even work) and I can't get her to play dust on any ps3 except the charron. Also, my recruits never have had enough interest in the game to spend a day downloading it partly bc its all protostomp and no pve. So any time my recruits play, it comes from my IP address and I wouldn't want to be accused of cheating. That said, without going to an extreme and banning people for encouraging new players to try out the game, what can we do to encourage people that use alts in the intended way and discourage using multiple PSN accounts? It seems to me the best solution is something that rewards people who run alts for doing so on a single psn account, as that would give people less reason to feel they need to use multiple PSNs. All of that said, I think people who come out bragging that they cheat and exploit the game in ways that are stated by CCP as ban fodder should get banned. Or else CCP is a toothless dragon making threats they won't keep. As it stands, the situation is that someone here made the claim that they use an exploit to farm rewards and made fun of people like you and I who use alts in the intended way. I would cap out my main and then start capping my alts. After a while I'd decide that a few blueprints would be nice, and the AUR was used mostly for my main, so it has worked out fine. I have so far purchased 7 Dren sets, with 5 copies on Luk. Many of the SP events were a huge boon for N1GHTMAR3S and Lucia Manag, and the BPOs have always been useful for farming ISK. I didn't want to train up sidearms for them anyway. The new damage mod is a huge boon for the Assault class, and I love it so much that I'm strongly considering another Elite pack so I can buy some of those Passive Omega Boosters. And it was everything I could do to win 6 games because this game is so broken for me I have about a 90% disconnection rate. It's really stupid you can't utilize your character slots and have to make a new psn account to have an alt that's worth anything. I've wasted so much time with 2 slots filled. Why even have 3slots for characters if they are so worthless. So disappointed
