Nah, I've pulled out proto at that point a few times and had the highest KDR; these people can not deal with anything more complex than stomping an ant. The harder time to do it would be when they can actually be IN your spawn point, like in the train hangar map. edit: oh, i didn't realize that "these people" actually includes you as well lol. These are the types that will get their azzes handed to them when PS2 open beta hits, a game with weapon and gear balance, providing they have PS4's. Can confirm, have sucked in every FPS I've ever played before thisGood to see I'm still #175 in the world with the M39 EMR (On PS3) Oh I didn't realize we were posting how bad we are in other games, Here's how badly I get my ass handed to me

Killing one of us means absolutely nothing to us. If you ever get in to PC, you will realize that K/D means nothing if you don't win. If you are thinking that you are doing anything significant by killing a PRO suit and costing ISK for that player that match (Not earning a profit due to 2-3 deaths in 120-200k ISK suits), think again. ISK doesn't matter anymore.
Personally, I pissed away 500 million ISK on ADS, and ended up having a huge amount of fun packing the front of them with RE's and going all jihad ADS on tanks. I still have more than enough ISK to fund all the PRO stomping I want. Its just more fun to stomp in ADV gear since all you people do is ***** and cry about people running PRO gear ruining the game. Please feel free to make a thread crying about how ADV gear is ruining the game, or how squads and team work is OP.
This thread just drips tears. They are delicious. Keep it up.
o7 Well, you camping my spawn spot doesn't mean **** to me, since I'd be spawning in my apex heavy at that point. Neither does KDR mean anything to me. The question is, what's the point of a proto squad camping a spawn point, it's like shooting fish in a barrel. Where's the game? Sad sad people. Well... I would figure the game ended for you the minute you got pushed to the redline and switched to your proto suit? XD Switching to proto in the midst of a stomp! That's some noob business, right there. |

Its not about honor. Its about civilized behavior. If you go play a game outside of pickup football with some of your friends, would it make sense for one guy to play the game by going around kicking everyone in the balls? Why not? He is -technically- able to do it, and winning is very important, so why not? Because this isnt a job, its not a way of making a living. Its supposed to be a game between a group of people who are all participating for fun with a health competitive spirit. Going back to that football example, those people got together because they wanted to do things like passes, runs, interceptions. None of them went there to get kicked in the balls. The OP is complaining about vets, who can do better and know better, camping a CRU. That means the other team spawns in and dies right away. Its like they are making it so these players cant even play the game....in the name of what? building numbers? Why dont they just go play a 1 player game if all they want to do is shoot people with no chance to get numbers no one cares about?
Man has a point.
I get hate mail for running pro, but my whole squad isn't pro standing by a CRU holy sh*t lol! I'm also usually in a pro logi so not much threat there.

AS I pointed out earlier honour is just a term gamer like to pretend applies to their own gaming habits but is entirely devoid in those they face making their failed efforts more significant and "righteous" for whatever purpose they feel compelled to tell themselves.
Honour doesn't really have any place or real meaning when randomly applied to a public session comprised of whomsoever matchmaking can shove into a single battle, Honour only have meaning when players abide by certain specific rules agreed upon prior to the conflict.
Honour is a completely subjective term that means different things to different people, one might choose to apply it self righteously to justify their own actions, others might consider it a more formal concept, others might not simply care for it at all....because its certainly not a concept one would associate with EVE and by extension Dust 514.

Having played a franchise of games (Souls Series) since its inception you really have to work into or around the "honour" culture that the players tend to develop. Though even then that specific term is very broad, nebulous, and vague. Honour to some is not using specific over powered fit's like the infamous "Pushlock Katana's" [demon's souls], "GiantDad's" [dark souls,] or "Havellyn" [dark souls 2], to others it is specific kind of behavior your embody with emphasises direct combat over more complex manoeuvres and strategies like Back Stabbing, Counter Back Stabbing, Countering Counter Back Stabbing, Dead Angling, Parrying, etc, or even down to useless arguments used to demean an opponent who beat them within the mechanics of the game using the tools available to them.
I've heard every Honour based argument in the book and none of them have merit outside of organised contests in which both parties agree to the rules of the contest before it takes place, after which any broken rules can clearly be determined and the players integrity called into question of the bout restarted.
Honour in gaming, relative to me, is a self imposed standard I hold myself to but honestly cannot expect others to agree with or follow. Embarrassingly quoting Renton Thurston (**** you Kagehoshi) "Don't beg for things, do it yourself, or you won't get anything."
Honestly, if after reading what I wrote, you still dont get it, I doubt you ever will. I will try one more time though.
Is Dust a 1 player game with a large campaign mode full of stories and activities? No
Is Dust a subscription based game? No
Is Dust a retail game, where after you buy your copy/license, you have a reasonable expectation of support from the company? No
Is Dust a classic FPS thats been around for a decade and is guaranteed to have its own steady cult like following? No.
So what is Dust?
GåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåô

Why does that matter? Because the player base IS the content. Your team/squad, thats the friendly content, the enemy team is the enemy content. Without other players to animate the various battlefield roles on both teams....you DONT HAVE a game, you just have a bunch of empty maps and useless assets.
It gets more serious than that. In addition to being the content, the playerbase is also the revenue stream that justifies this very games existence.
More players --> more money --> more dev resources --> continued support and resources to develop missing Amarr stuff. Less players --> less money --> less dev resources --> decline and placeholders. Every player that quits is a double blow. Reduced content, reduced revenue. Which reduces the game for the ones who stay. And reduces the chance of a PC/PS4 port happening.
So there you go! I suspect you know all this, and dont care anyway. You think this is all about "honor", in which someone will try to shame or invalidate your right to video game greatness. It has nothing to do with what people think of you. Its everything to do with sustainability.

My point is that the term "honour" has not place in video gaming. Not that we shouldn't attempt to foster a positive community experience.
The term "honour" is irksome on a personal level. It means nothing and should not be used or applied when related to Dust 514. Fostering a positive experience is something that should be looked at on a seriously level....but at the same time a player cannot themselves be responsible for the enjoyment of others, to provide their opponent with a positive experience if that impacts on their own.
All I'm saying is that it's difficult to ensure your opposition has a positive experience without impacting on your own personal enjoyment. If a tank pilot does his/her thing in a match and scores a lot of kills a fair number of players are likely to be upset at the result.
-Their loss -Their personal number of deals -Their inability to have their vehicle on the field
Consequently a fair number of players absolutely love it when teams go all out and are competitive. With the design of Dust 514 the way it is, and unlikely to change, it is difficult to separate the groups without negatively impacting on the wider community and with as few options as there are for new or non-competitively minded players they are forced into battles with incredibly competitive players.
I simply don't know how to reconcile the differences between these two groups for a satisfying resolution, especially when I personally am squarely in between the two groups [competitive FW, casual publics] and its not limited to Dust, it's the same with all other games.
Camping a CRU is douchey in a public match sure but you can't fault them for being competitive and dominating the map as they did using communication and the squad system. Nor can I fault players who don't squad up, dislike being beaten, and give up on the game.

i caught you in a match about 4 days ago saw you leave halfway through edit: just noticed you are with FA If you noticed my team was winning that match and I had a pretty good KD. The reason I left was because I got a fatal error on my PS3. Whenever it gets rainy around here I tend to get disconnected a lot. Furthermore, I have only been in Fatal Absolution since Monday; four days ago I was in Ostrakon Agency.

AS I pointed out earlier honour is just a term gamer like to pretend applies to their own gaming habits but is entirely devoid in those they face making their failed efforts more significant and "righteous" for whatever purpose they feel compelled to tell themselves.
No Is Dust a subscription based game? No Is Dust a retail game, where after you buy your copy/license, you have a reasonable expectation of support from the company? No Is Dust a classic FPS thats been around for a decade and is guaranteed to have its own steady cult like following? No. So what is Dust? GåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåôGåô -------------------> DUST 514 is a free to play, online only FPS. <-------------------------------- GåæGåæGåæGåæGåæGåæGåæGåæGåæGåæGåæGåæGåæGåæGåæGåæGåæGåæGåæGåæGåæGåæGåæGåæGåæGåæGåæGåæGåæGåæGåæGåæGåæGåæGåæGåæGåæGåæGåæGåæGåæGåæGåæGåæ Why does that matter? -Their loss -Their personal number of deals -Their inability to have their vehicle on the field Consequently a fair number of players absolutely love it when teams go all out and are competitive. I love it when the enemy team camps a CRU. Usually I just keep spawning in my APEX suit and get free kills with my Serpent Scout.

But really, I think people should stop complaining about Protoplayers killing Militia scrubs. It's called heirachy and they have to climb up it.

Had a great match against the FA guys last night. Was an all out domination in the train depot. Much fun was had by all & lots of proto suits lost on both sides. Frankly, that's what this game is all about -- two groups of people trying as best they can to win and doing whatever it takes to do so. Good stuff, and I wish many of you who complain brought it half as hard as the FA guys do. |

We went hard vs RND this morning too.
Excellent payouts and was a good match.
I love what our squad lead was saying.
Himiko: "Dude, full squad RND other side, lets do this"
Ghost: "Does that mean I have to try hard now?"
Himiko: "Yes Ghost, they're going to be pulling out all the stops, I know YDubbs"
*pulls out proto scout*
Was very fun.
