If they are destroying you HARD in PRO gear, most likely they will destroy you hard in militia gear too, just slightly less so.
I've just made my mlt fit for next month, now to test it!

Proto Fit
Republic Assault mk.0
Republic Boundless Specialist Combat Rifle Republic Six Kin Submachine Gun Stable Drop Uplink 2 x Republic Complex Shield Extender Republic Complex Shield Energizer Enhanced Light Damage Modifier Basic Cardiac Regulator Enhanced Kinetic Catalyzer 2 x Republic Complex Shield Regulator
Now, the weird thing is, out of those two, I do MUCH better with the non-proto fit, which only has 335eHP, as opposed to the proto fit's 585eHP. It just goes to show that using Proto gear will not make you invincible, and that you're not getting stomped because someone's using proto gear. It comes down to their teamwork, and how your team works together to combat them.
I don't even think Proto-stomping should be a term for it. I've seen plenty of people say that they'd still stomp in mlt gear.
Thoughts? 3 Outer.Heaven members usually do it for me.

What I like most about this event, is that in terms of suit, if a vet and a newberry have the same fitting, sp investment matters for bugger all. Gonna be one hell of an interesting month. Unless every game is like the test game I just had. Entire team of bluebs, against a pack of 10 reds who roamed constantly.

Read up, it's not a ccp official event, just something Nirwanda Vaughns wants to set up.
Nirwanda Vaughns wrote:simple solution to this OK folks. Put your Militia where you mouth is, announcing MARCH MILITIA MADNESSfrom March 1 2015 to March 31 2015 all parties signed below agree to get involved in running nothing but Militia fits. not militia with complex mods but Militia everything. Each member of a person signed ups squad also has to run militia fits as well. many of the guys in here are from the loud mouth corps and alliance so prove the community wrong, earn a butt ton of isk and have a little fun and perhaps show newbies the game can be fun when a*shats arn't stomping them into the ground with superior gear. Thor is pretty good with corp management, if he;d be up for creating a channel and organizing something between general tso's too it'd be awesome. i knwo some guys in opposing corps and alliance and we'll get together in one big a*s militia chat channel and perhaps meet some new friends
I personally love it. You in Cat Merc?

Thoughts? It's playstyle. Proto is used with squads and mics. They tell each other every thing, and use general strategies like logi and heavy. They also have some scouts to find positions. It's not about proto. It's the squad. And the squad uses proto to be the most effective.
And this playstyle has no place in pubs where new players and solo casual players play. There needs to be a place for those players and pubs would be it. There are two modes for tryhards. There shouldn't be a problem leaving pubs the no premade, no comms game mode. That will even the teams to the same playstyle. Teamwork is relative. There is still teamwork among solo players, just not highly organized through comms and forming premade squads. Que syncing would naturally be abolished too.
I'm better than laser focused; I'm hybrid focused.

I don't think it's the fact that people have prototype suits, but more that you get 5 or more people running proto and travelling in a group. Attacking one flares the attention of the entire group, which fires upon a player with prototype weapons.
Again, no squad public matches.. So people that want to squad would do what? PC and FW? If they do this they should remove skirmish as a public gamemode as there is no reason or purpose for a skirmish if it's all solo players. People that wanted squads could run regular public matches, people who don't want squads could run squad free public matches. Skirmish would work just fine without running squads if they team members knew what they were doing. The point of having no squad public matches as an extra option is to prevent stomping. Why not just address the fact that the problem is with people choosing to deploy over and over again solo in a game geared towards squad and team play?
I don't think there is a problem with running solo in a game geared towards squad/team play IF you accept that you are running at a disadvantage and gear your play style accordingly.

There is no problem running solo. I always run solo in pubs, I only ever squad up in MinFW. With that Non-Proto Fit at the beginning of this thread, I often top the board on my team, sometimes both teams, and that's running solo.

I run solo in freefit sentinels all the time. Nothing warms my heart quite like running headlong into a small group of militia newbies and realizing that the little bastards are properly focusing fire on me and get the kill.
It's absolutely hilarious. Also bluntly part of the problem inherent to playing is being RISK AVERSE and playing alone.
If you fly solo then it really needs to be cheap investment and no f*cks given.
People who run squads do well and make a profit. Solo players who run cheap make a profit.
It's the nature of the beast. Every single FPS game in existence pretty much allows comms and premade teams. There is no reason ever to try and evict players from the ability to play with friends in any game mode.
I agree that proto stomping is a misleading term.
I do not agree that any game mode should be created to provide safe haven for the anti-social.
You pays your money you takes your chances.

That type of thinking is one of the clear lines between blueberries and elderberries.
Blueberries blame it on the equipment
Elderberries blame it on teamwork
For many, it takes a long time to realize that the equipment isn't the thing that's holding them back... Some never realize it.
