I will still try though, but many don't and I can't blame them. You can say what you want I still think the tiered gear system is overly harsh towards newer players. It's close to impossible for a new player to kill a vet even by chance. I just don't like the concept of increased stats for veteran players. The gear progression in Dust serves no other purpose but to separate the noobs from the vets. In high level engagements everyone uses the best gear anyway, and vets bringing superior gear to fight noobs in pubs only generates frustration. I'd rather see sidegrades and specialization than straight up stat increases. But I guess at this stage in Dust's lifecycle there is little chance for a change of mind. Jebus still hates scans.

At a certain point, all that, that SP does is grant flexibility and that isn't that much of an issue. If there was a team of highly flexible mercs actually working together, sure, but I doubt teamwork has shot up in my absence. The problem is putting 13 ** players on a team with 2 or 3 decent players and expecting those three people to hold up the rest of the team as they go up against an enemy team of mostly proto suits. Matchmaking and dumbass people with little to no situational awareness is what is **** up in this game.

The gear isn't even really worth the expense. If you are on the team that is lucky enough to have people fighting the only reason you'd want proto gear is to survive the sniper shots that hit you once in a while. This is about the systemic failure of pushing team play and proper ISK payouts. I'm fairly convinced that someone is keeping Rattatti from raising payouts to push AUR sales. I can't think of any other reason why the payouts have remained so low. Even the new reward system is tied to SP and not ISK. I'm selling Templar Codes. 2 of 5 remaining. 225 mil ISK. Well it certainly doesn't make sense if you don't get paid to push. Think about it, even if everyone continues to play solo if payouts were high enough for them to profit in ADV gear you'd have all those randoms on a more level playing field.
