Most important thing for the dropships - the role bonus must go towards reducing the spawn time, at the very most the spawn should be 5 seconds, though ideally it should be 3. If it's 10, they would be a complete and total SP and ISK sink, and thus useless.
That being said, remote modules for the dropships should be like a cone pointing down.
Logi LAV remote modules should be a circular AoE around the car.
Both the ships and LAVs will need another slot to fit a remote module. Maybe the LAV can have for infantry by default, and the dropship the remote vehicle mods by default. Or both infantry by default, with the ability for the dropship to fit heavy/complex remote mods with enough PG and CPU to put together a good amount of HP while people spawn in and jump out, rather than the 3-swarm kill on a Gorgon.
Again, ideally the logi ships should provide a 3 second spawn at level 5. They were worse than useless before, as the mCRU was a 10 second spawn, the SP cost was crazy, and the ISK cost was crazy too.

Agreed that Logi Dropships need to provide a better Time To Spawn than 10 seconds...otherwise what's the point when you could just run uplinks all over the damn map.
As for the Logi LAV Repair modules, I can see (and support) infantry repair in an AOE (Giant Triage Hive style thing), but vehicle repairs I feel should remain as a lock-on feature...just the lock-on mechanic for them needs to be changed to make them usable from what they where. (as AOE ones could scale to ridiculous levels for vehicles if you have multiple LLAVs in a small area)
And once again, LDS needs to give better spawn times, and mCRU needs more variations to get the best spawn time up to around 2-3 seconds, to be close to the spawn time on up-links (When an Amarr logi uses them)

Would be a good idea in theory, except that dropships don't have the relative staying power that dropsuits do, and don't have the luxury of being able to hide behind something they're repping, so a Rep LDS is almost out of the question entirely (unless the enemy team decides to ignore it). So immediately the Minmatar one would need something else to help it. Additionally, while a vehicle mounted supply-depot or infinite nanohive would be cool, once again drop-ships lack the necessary staying power to make them useful (at least, not without having a massive supply rate associated with them). Scanners are an idea, but a change to revealed duration would be necessary (because of once again, the lack of staying power in the dropship platform)...meaning that the dropship could just fly sweeps over an area and provide useful long-term scans. This leaves them with only really the mCRU left as the only viable vehicle module for them, and it's a good one to compliment the Dropship platforms inherent mobility. (Note: Staying power =/= general survivability...and note that I said Relative Staying Power)
Something like that for LLAVs might be good, if Logistics dropships didn't have the role of Mobile Spawner wouldn't already have been taken by the LDS (For reasons listed above)...making the amarr one lose out.
Anyway, would be a great idea, but I think people would find that modules balanced so that LDS's could use them would be too powerful on other platforms, with the exception of the mCRU (which would not necessarily tread on the Amarr Logi's role, as the Amarr logi's beacons are, for lack of a better term, Fire and Forget and are not part of the logi itself...other than the bonus spawn time...but it's still harder to track down and eliminate the beacons, than it is to see and shoot down a DS with normal DS mobility)

That's something similar to a suggestion I made for pilot suits: in essence vehicles get equipment slots (number based on type of vehicle) and certain modules (MCRU's, scanners, remote reps) are moved over to these equipment slots, then pilot suits modify / enhance the effects of these slots/equipment pieces. It makes pilot suits desireable if you want to be a 'full time' vehicle specialist, but it doesn't prevent those who don't have them from using vehicles effectively.
Allows for further iteration of 'vehicle equipment' with stuff like bubble shields possibly. It also makes vehicles function more comparably to infantry. Phase one would be the equipment slots / equipment movement, phase two would be pilot suits.

+1 The CRU should have a bonus to spawntime.
Regarding the remote reppers:
I would like to see a reticle like with the HMG, but bigger, and every suit or vehicle up to a certain range and number in that reticle get's auto locked.
So you would be able to rep two vehicles or 6 Infantry or a mixture of both.
Vehicles would get more reps than infantry of course, and the infantry reps would be like the handheld standard ones (so not as good as a core focused, but as good as a core at lv5.
Thing would be that you have an area in front of you where stuff gets auto locked, untill out of range.
The sketchy part would be to get close enough in certain scenarios without ramming structures. No idea what would be a decent range, maybe 50m?
Repper should only work with pilot in car, so that HMG guys need at least a driver and can not just spam LLAV and solo everything. A logi with Core Focused RT would still be better even a Republic Boundless RT would be better in case of two targets.
Also a 5% reduction of hp repped per additional target would be cool to make it not completely OP.
Scenario for this LDS would be fly in, have squad spawn in DS and support squad until in Building, then get distance for overwatch and wait for extraction of squad or reinsertion of terminated members. Awesome squad support for teams. Squad would probably be mostly slayers... |

I don't see how that can be done properly. The old system was completely terrible, and left the car wide open to attacks.
(as AOE ones could scale to ridiculous levels for vehicles if you have multiple LLAVs in a small area)
If Min logis can do that with Core Focused (2 or 3 for the lulz), then I don't see why LLAVs can't do that.
And once again, LDS needs to give better spawn times, and mCRU needs more variations to get the best spawn time up to around 2-3 seconds, to be close to the spawn time on up-links (When an Amarr logi uses them)
I don't think the mCRU needs any variations, just that the role bonus of the logi ships must get the spawn time to no more than 5 seconds at level 5. Preferably 3 seconds, as a home point in PC could be taken even faster with that.

The Eryx (Caldari) providing ammo in a dropship? That's just ridiculous. The role bonus for all four of them should be faster spawns. If they were broken up by race, then the Amarr would be the only one used, and the Cal, Gal and Min ships literally left out in the cold, because nobody would ever use them.
There's the role bonus, and then there's the racial bonus.
On Vehicles
I linked to my second post - hull skills are at the bottom. I gave logi ships two role bonuses, but I would imagine only the spawn time reduction should remain.

Which is my point...I agree with you that spawning is the only viable Logistics based task for a Dropships Platform...
as for the logi-scaling, min logis can still only provide reps (or in this case spider reps) to a finite number of targets, and must maintain the lock (even as easy as it is to do on suits)...that being said, higher tier Remote Reps should be able to maintain multiple locks at the same time...I'll write up something as to how they could possibly work
By variations of the mCRU I mean a STD, ADV, and PRO mCRU that either get better spawn times with tiers, or possibly reduce fitting cost per tier (while maintaining the same performance)...after all, the LDS isn't the only vehicle which may want to run an mCRU on it (although, it should be the best at it)

Wut?
If I bring in a squad of Assaults/Heavies/Logis/Scouts, I don't care if they are detected, they are supposed to take an objective in shocktrooper fashion. Moving in with superior firepower, flip the point, check for enemy links in the back and move out again!
The logi DS should have the tank to survive in such a situation even when attacked by the odd swarm...
