This is what Warbarges should of been.... We are getting meh.... A way to monetize PC for CCP.... Because Vet's and PC players don't use Aurum for PC or around it.
Warbarges was supposed to be a cool factor... CCP is more making them a way to monetize end game content. |

lol @ becoming a warlord. You are still going to be a scrub cause you will still need 16 good players for PC and if you dont have it you are screwed. So nothing changes here.

That would be so awesome and would make the game much more interesting and better. Like i said, they should have just kept it as a buyable asset for corporations. They could replace the personal player warbarge system in Warlords 1.0 with something like "Warbarge support" from the NPC corps that contract them in public and factional matches. Then when it comes to player made corps make them an accesible space as displayed in the video. Or better yet, every player gets access to warbarge support as it is, but then when you join a corp the corporation warbarge supplies every member with its bonuses and then some extra things such as a corp armory etc.
Just call me OG.

Or it was given to you because you did something great and someone thanked you by letting you have a warbarge.
The first one makes sense if your a professional The second one is that you are creating a hero(noob)who had it given to him.

If the empire shoots your warbarge down, chances are you'll not work for them. If they did this a lot, then nobody would work for them. The empires and big corps are happy that you get warbarges for the most part because it means you'll be more effective at your job. Plus, shooting it down if it was stolen would end up costing them money, and to not destroy it and only get it back would require lots of effort in planning and resource allocation to execute the mission to steal back the barge.
We immortal mercs are also scary because we won't die, we'll just spawn in a new clone and steal another. Once one was stolen, and its power was demonstrated, many mercs stole their own in a period of time known as the Ascension (gotta make a lore now, I like where I'm taking this)
TL;DR: Too much effort to get the stolen warbarge back from an immortal.

Just the concept of everyone owning a barge is an odd game mechanic. I thought is was going to be corp wide. The effect is that the warbarge screen represents the players connection to a barge but, it is presented instead as the player literally owning a barge.
While we're at it, can I own a titan in EVE? I don't mean the actual ship but, a virtual, 2D version that I can upgrade for points and rewards?

While we're at it, can I own a titan in EVE? I don't mean the actual ship but, a virtual, 2D version that I can upgrade for points and rewards? I found a document from 2012 on reddit that listed all supercap (Titan & Mothership) pilots who had ever been on a kill mail as far back as they could find, all API verified. There were over 3500 unique supercarrier pilots and over 1100 unique Titan pilots. This was 3 years ago. Dreads, carriers, freighters, jump freighters and capital industrial ships are much more common. based on further maths done I estimated that our warbarges would only need to be 3-5million m3 for all of the crazy things we use them for, this is 1/3rd to 1/2 the size of the smallest and most common of those and still only 1/5th to 1/3rd the size of the smallest freighters and carriers.
I'm not entirely certain of the scale of the warbarges depicted, but they certainly aren't super capital territory.

Maybe is just the word itself, but this whole new concept, both role wise and lore wise it's weird for me. It's pointless because when everyone is a warlord no one is. The best thing about the old concept of Dust was that you used to be "just another grubby soldier" fighting in wars bigger than you.
Lore-wise, considering that there are in excess of 6,500 solar systems, 60,000+ planets... God knows how many POSes, Deadspace Complexes, Warpgates, Stations and any little perceivable thing that a human being could potential exist on at any given time in the massive scale of an ENTIRE GALAXY...
I really don't think it's much to insinuate that 250,000 (at most) immortal mercenaries up and declared themselves warlords when they each have single-handedly both killed and died the equivalent of some countrys' entire armies.
Warlords in the traditional sense? Probably not. But warlords none the less.
There is a part of me that genuinely hopes Dust 514 fails at times.

Aeon gets it too. From Wikipedia:
"Warlordism is usually connected to various mercenary companies and their chieftains, which often were de facto power-holders in the areas where they resided. Such free companies would arise in a situation when the recognized central power had collapsed"
A player owning districts, planets and systems, is the definition of a Warlord.

I like the seriousness of this discussion. Lets roleplay the **** out of this! :D

... hmm, GURPS or FATE? Or Coda maybe??? ... hmmm
I love the concept.
1st) The warbarge doesnt seem to be the ultimate power tool, its just a spaceship getting us from A to B. The Dust is where we shine.
2nd) Why wouldnt a practically immortal and since some years independent agent be able to get a decent spaceship? I agree that some ISK-vestment should be required ... about 2-5 mio max, maybe ... but how much is a basic frigate in EVE? some 100k? The scale of the warbarge seems to be a bit beyond destroyer size, judging from the "window" and "docking bay" looking greebles. I imagine its purpose is like the viking dragon boats. You can move armies with these, you just need many of them, but it is in no way a space superiority vessel. The aquisition of a small individual transport ship seems to be well within the mindset of a freedom seeking freelancer mercenary too.
Definition of Barge
3rd) Its awesome and awesome is always right.
I will call mine "the raven that refused to sing" (because I love my Raven in EVE, most beautiful ship ever. And I am listening to Steve Wilson right now...)
