Nah, congrats I asked if there was some way to get these guides stickied and Frame told me to report it with a sticky request. Middas and I will likely be working on a cal guide soon, just comparing notes - q&a isn't comprehensive enough to make a sticky request.

Might have missed it but I am sorely disappointed that you did not include the most viable Gallente Assault tactic: "Kallante'ing".
Throw down Triage Nanohive behind cover, strafe in and out of cover kittening the hell out of anything stupid enough to try and beat 75+ HP/sec passive regeneration.

Ah, I see, so you're of the volition that 15-25 hp/sec repair is supposed to somehow compete with the 1,500+ Sentinels that we frequently engage.

Feel free to hop on and squad with us though. I'd like to take his experience and forward it on to Kevall so we can improve the new player experience.
Also, I found out recently that the tutorial that used to be implemented from - I think it was 1.5 or 1.6 - has been completely removed. There's no welcome mail, no "You show great promise recruit..." speech, no guidance goal system whatsoever. It's kind of worrying.

Great guide, wish I could do one for Caldari as it's my favorite faction. But it'll be pretty simple: stack shields all the way! Lol. I noticed you didn't recommend Ferroscale Plates, why? My Amarr Assault is fitted with these for not losing the mobility. I'd only use vanilla plates on a heavy, since they're already slow and the % decrease is minimal to the much needed HP. Reactive Plates are pretty much useless imo because you can always have a Nanohive for self-repair. |

Excellent guide to Gallente and Dust in general. Although I wonder if changes have been made to assault suits since, as the G-I suit has 5 low slot modules available and 3 low slots. And to fit your recommend build I need PG/CPU mods to even make 2 armor repairs 1 plate and 1 light damage module possible. Am I doing something wrong?

You're right - this is outdated. Since this guide was written, 'tiericide' happened which gave all suits of the same type the same number of slots, regardless of tier. PG/CPU varies between tier and was also tweaked at the same time.
What are you trying to fit? If you're trying to get one of the proto builds on a lower tier suit, it's not going to fit, even with the greater number of slots. It needs some tweaking to work. I haven't checked all these builds against the new PG/CPU numbers, so you'll have to correct me if one of the old builds no longer fits.

Your suggested loadouts, I just didn't read enough to realize there have been changes. Thank you for clarifying. Now another question comes up: do you still believe armor rep V is essential to get as quickly as possible with Gallente?
Currently I've got most things leveled that I use to the 2nd or 3rd tier of gear, so I'm kind of wondering what to take to max or if I should now expand into other roles, such as upgrading my logi gear load outs IE Nani hive, rep gun, Nani injector etc...
Or would it be more wise to upgrade my modules such as light damage modifiers, plates and kincats?
Thanks for your time and great guide. |

I would prioritise armour rep 5 as your first 5 skill, yes. I don't think you should level it to the exclusion of all else, though - it's more important to get the basic versions of the modules you need first. When you've got a solid variety of modules at levels 1-3, though, take armour rep to 5 when you can. The rep bonus isn't insignificant and complex reppers are really fantastic.
A note on kincats - they require significant points into dropsuit biotics as a pre-requisite. You need dropsuit biotics at 5 to take the kinetic catalysation skill at all, and that'll set you back somewhere in the region of 900k SP. Kincats are good modules and are very useful for a speed demon, but they're not really worth looking at for a new player because you -really- need to invest a lot of SP in them. The tiers of kincat lower than complex aren't great, and kincats require a colossal amount of PG. For those reasons I suggest not speccing into kincats yet. If you're super keen on having kincats you can go for it, but I recommend waiting until you have both reps and plates at 5 and have your chosen specialist suit at 3 (not the basic frames, but assault/logi/scout etc).
Handheld weapon upgrades is a decent skill and if you like damage mods it's reasonably cheap to spec into. Level 3 gets you enhanced damage mods which are quite effective and generally fit easily. Complex upgrades require more fitting resources though, so I recommend waiting before taking weapon upgrades to 5 until you have engineering/electronics at 4.
Do you spend a lot of time playing logi? If you do, upgrading your equipment is a good idea. In terms of getting the most per SP point, the first equipment upgrade you should look into is nanocircuitry. This skill covers both nanite injectors and nanohives. If you have it at 3 you get the KIN-012 nanite injector, which revives people at 50%. This gives you a solid amount of warpoints (60 WP, twice what you get with a basic one per revive) and is noticeably better than the basic revive - which is very significant in armour based setups. It also unlocks the K-2 nanohives, which are, IMHO, sufficient to fuel all but the most ammo-hungry grenadiers. If you get it to 5, you get a bunch of cool toys that you won't really have had previously. All of these things are expensive - you won't be able to afford to fund a lot of them. If you die a lot, you won't make a profit or even break even in a match. I recommend saving these for when you have a squad for you to support and be backed up by.
Firstly, you get the proto nanite injector. This is an excellent revive tool. It brings people up at 80% health and gives you a 90 WP boost every time you revive someone. Imagine reviving a 1000 armour sentinel at 80% health. You've basically put a respectable combatant on the field straight from the revive. With objective bonuses and squad defend orders you can very quickly rack up a large amount of warpoints this way as well - you're looking at ~126 WP if you revive someone by a point your squad is defending.
Secondly, you get triage hives. Technically you can get these at level 4 in the form of K-17/D hives, but those are ineffective compared to the proto ones. They're very difficult to fit but are amazing on defence. Allotek hives both restore ammo and heal players inside them at 40 HP/s. They can't restore ammo and armour at the same time, though. 40 HP/s is enough to keep an armoured player defending very happily unless they're really under intense attack. Wiyrkomi hives don't restore ammo. However, they restore armour at a rate of 70 HP/s. You can put down two at once. This means you can have an armour-stacked player with damage mods repping at 140 HP/s while firing and without needing to have a rep tool on them, which means you can shoot too or alternatively add a rep tool for even more WP, or revive people... etc. You have to be careful with their placement, but triage hives are a favourite of mine and can be extraordinarily effective on defence. You can see a demonstration of these from about 8:20 onwards in this video. Forgive me the shameless linking of my own video, but it should give you an idea of how strong they can be. The video is old, but triage hives haven't been nerfed since then. Indeed, they've actually been buffed - you can carry many more of them now, and what finally cracked the defence in that video was when I ran out of triage hives.
Rep tools only unlock one item for their skill, but they have some neat toys as well. Level 4 unlocks you the ADV infantry triage tool, which is nicely effective for its price. Level 5 unlocks you the proto tools, which can repair two people at once. The flux tool can also do this at a longer range than other rep tools. There is also the core focused version, which sacrifices both range and the ability to rep multiple people for a staggering rep rate of over 100 HP/s. It's very short range and is really only suited for following around a heavy or strongly armour tanked assault, but it is very, very effective at keeping people up - if you can stay locked on with such a short range, that is.
Other items worth considering are uplinks and scanners. Uplinks can change the course of a battle while giving you decent amounts of WP for your troubles, and scanners receive a bonus from the Gallogi.
I think that covers your questions. If you have more, feel free to ask.

Assault G-I
Breach Assault Rifle Ion Pistol RD-9 Uplink
PG Booster PG Booster Light Damage Mod
CPU Booster CPU Booster Militia Plate Enhanced Armor Rep Enhanced Armor Rep
I score on average 1000-1500 WP per game and usually can manage a positive K/D.
I have about 500k SP saved up and I'm thinking nanocircuitry next. Thank you so much for the response, that cleared a lot of up. I'm going to build my logi up now. What high and low slot mods would you recommend for logi in the current state of things?
Many thanks.
