@ Those who think that heavies are "fine," remember Rattati has objective data that he can use to identify over performing items, weapons, suits, modules etc.
If he deems them over performing, then perhaps it is best to find a constructive means of addressing WHY that might be and SOLUTIONS to the problem.

Thanks for the overview, but I fear we've detoured. To get back to the point:
1. Is it possible for something be "too good" at its intended role? 2. Is it possible to tune that something such that it is no longer "too good"? 3. Is it appropriate to tune that something such that it is no longer "too good"?
Hint: Absolutely |

This is why WoW sucks, all the good sht getting nerfed every update. I had a friend that played this game 6-9 months and all he had were tanks. When the volley of tank nerfs came in he couldn't go isk positive anymore and quit. It's a good way to alienate new players when all they have Is the 1 role.

This sounds like something Spkr might say. Are there not degrees of good? Picture a gauge which begins with barely good enough and ends with way too good. Might there be a happy medium along that continuum? Absolutely. The thing is that for every "barely good enough" attribute, each suit must have a "way too good" that works as an opposite.
Example:
Heavy HP (way too good) - Heavy movement speed and size (barely good enough)
If everything was in the happy medium, we would only have assault suits.

Imbalance turns away more people than making changes for the sake of balance.

This point can't be emphasized enough. Players demand a fair shake. If Uprising had been balanced at release, our playerbase would no doubt be larger and in-game assets and content would be further developed. Rattati has managed to right a sinking ship with balance passes; he certainly shouldn't stop now. |

ACT1ON BASTARD wrote:So where did the idea of nerfing heavies come from? They went unchanged for half a year, except for the recent heat buildup Nerf, but i guess wasn't enough? Its like the saying,"you give them an inch theyll take the mile." So my question is how far do you want to take it, on the level of the ads Nerf; unusable except for top players, or on the level of the recent scr Nerf? I say no Nerf should be given, because lets be honest, get some skill. I take heavies all day in my logi, scout, commando, any suit. It's called tactics, different suits come with different tactics. If I'm in a scout I'm going to flank, in an assault god mode strafe him, in a logi get cover and let my heavy take him.
You mean my COD style of praying and spraying and running at them head on isnt how youre supposed to take HVY's out? well thats not balanced

That was the fotm group taking advantage of militia tanks which should of never existed. If you want to tank you should have skills in tanking.

Ok and, the fotm chasers will outsmart ccp at every update. That's why we will never stop balancing until this game is as perfect as it can be. Even if that is unattainable its better than sitting around and dealing with annoying players doing the same things over and over again because abusing the game makes you"Gud." Even if it is tedious and even if players leave because of it we should never stop because this game has the potential to be an amazing game. The players still care about making this game fun and balanced, they won't stop searching for broken mechanics. Rather than just brushing off balancing suggestion as qq players should stop and think. "Hmm maybe the way I play this game ruins the fun for all the other players maybe I should helpmake it balanced so that's can have fun and not just sit here clicking a button and destroying everything without even thinking about it."
If you can't do that maybe you should just move on to some other game where they say"oh don't worry they'll fix stuff in the next game," because you won't find that attitude in this game.
