Depends. Some corps have events and challenges. And many corps buy skill books for new players. Then there is the Cloud Consortium. They have a 100% tax rate.
There are plenty of reasons for a tax rate outside of PC.
But yeah, generally speaking, if your corps has a tax rate and doesn't do anything for its members with the money, you gotta bounce.

The question you need to ask is what the isk will be used for. Once you know that you can determine id it is acceptable to you.
If it's to fund PC, to help out new players, or to allow the CEO to run proto all the time?
3-5 percent is considered by most to be an acceptable amount when a Corp is trying to accumulate funds for PC. |

If your corp has a tax rate in the double-digits they are probably skimming off the top. Not true. For those corps trying to get a district, it can be very expensive with clone packs being 50M a piece. Competition in PC has tamed down quite a bit since passive ISK gain has been removed so getting a district is a lot easier to do but corp management still have to compensate players during losses if they want their players to keep fighting in PC. Vehicle losses in particular get very expensive very quickly. Furthermore, there are some corps that have a ton of ISK back when passive ISK generation was still around but not all corps have that bank but still try to be active in PC. Soon there may even be costs to buy and maintain warbarges as well. What I find funny is the tons of players that want to pay nothing in tax yet still want to have corp events and be compensated for PC losses. Those players have obviously not actually tried their hand at being a CEO of a growing corp.

You'll get that sometimes in any large corp, but they're very few compared to the rest. Molon is a pretty friendly corp, and leadership does use the tax for the things stated above. Events, Bounties, PC, lotteries, anything to really engage our guys.

Some corps are active enough in PC, and provide enough reimbursement to their corpmates, so they can justify at 10%+ tax rate. And yes, it is endlessly frustrating to have players ask for events and reimbursement for things AND for the tax rate to be 0% - 1% in the same breath.
DAAAA BEAST wrote:0% Real corps don't steal your money. You are correct, because taxes aren't theft. You agree to them when you join a corporation. If you don't agree to corp's tax rate or a CEO can't explain/show what the taxes are going toward, then don't apply.

^This.
Back in the day when there were all sorts of cool stuff supposedly in the pipeline for DUST 514 in the EVE Universe I didn't mind paying tax whilst not active in PC, as it was considered a good idea to have some savings for when it would be needed.
But now... 0% tax all the way!
