I don't ******* understand how the community and/or CCP doesn't see how these things could also improve NPE.... If we want to keep players how about we fix the god damn game so it's playable for the majority and not the minority...
There's some manner of balance to this. If you only develop new features, but don't fix bugs, then you build a very poor quality game. But if you focus only on bug fixing, and you don't add new gameplay, players will just get bored and leave. You have to be working on both.
And some problems are easier to fix than others too. CCP has knocked out a lot of big pet peeves in recent builds, but obviously, there's plenty more to do. The biggest challenge with hunting bugs is how much time you might invest in trying to figure it out, and still fail to solve it. Things like that can give the impression you're doing nothing, when you might be working on it.

I understand this but given CCP'S track record and current resources devoted to Dust I really think they need to direct everything to the core fixes maybe even controls.. Throw out some cheap social media marketing to hype the improvements and I think they would be surprised on how many people stick around, return, and even invest.
Even if it's something ideally simple like removing grass or those ridiculous weather/installation effects. I'm no developer but seeing how the ps3 handles Dust currently I would think the less visual **** we have in competitive play the better..
We talk about improving PC ? Improving Frame rate alone will be a gigantic improvement.. In two PC matches I played last night we had 2 guys crash and a handful of us with unplayable frame rate. The fact that this is still an issue in PC baffles a lot of people the ones willing to stick with Dust have looked past it..
Combine the new player skill point gap along side the roulette of PC struggles, good luck getting those new players involved.. |

Yeah, that was my first reaction. I was like "God Damn It!" until I saw that Simple Crafting has been pushed forward and I was like "Oh, that makes sense. I'm cool with that."

Everything on that road map is BS.
FIrst of all, nothing is on critical priority (frame rate, game breaking lag, performance issues all around, NPE, you name it) actually some of those things dont even appear in the roadmap.
Second, there's nothing really new on the roadmap (new game modes, PvE, suits, weapons, vehicles, stronger EvE link)
CCP is just putting Dust in to a blender with some pumpkin spice and releasing it with a new name.
Dust as we know it or on the next release wont ever change if we dont have a bigger player base, 2k people play everyday, and half of them are probably afk.-

That's a bad way to go about solving frame rate problems. You don't remove graphics to increase frame rates. What needs to be done is further optimize the graphics. This is not to be confused with upgrading graphics as they are not the same thing. They are mutually exclusive from each other. Optimizing allows you to get more stability and better frame rates using the same quality graphics. This can be done in any number of ways. Cutting down on unnecessary polygons, refining the Level of Detail (LOD) for an object that is a certain distance from you, stopping the rendering of objects you're not seeing, etc.
Removing grass or leaving us with a plain sky won't help if the Gallente Research Facility still needs fixing.
EDIT: The processing of the files containing the graphics helps too.

Dont get me wrong i fully agree.. But the real question is, is the current CCP Dust team actually able to optimize the engine ? When any of the community talks about optimizing or changing the core engine it seems to get pushed under the rug...
I'm thinking along terms of something simple because I seems that's all this current dev team can do is add and remove....

Put them on the trello board as suggestions. https://trello.com/b/8PvubQrN/dust-514-community-crowdsourcing
It doesn't need to be suggested the issues has been there since PC was made or before it. If they can't fix those major issues the very little of anyone will bother to play PC anyway. |

I was posting my newest montage in the My Dust section and I came across, THIS.......
This is the **** that seems like CCP can't fix..
This isn't network lag, this is frame rate lag and if a new person comes in trying to get the hang of things and gets this? Then has to go through the process of resetting their ps3, reloading Dust getting two matches in just to have it happen again..
Guess what that new player does and has been doing ?
They uninstall and with the money that should be going to CCP they go get Destiny, upcoming Planetside, COD or any other game that doesn't lock up on them in the middle of a gun fight and force you to reset your PS3..
THIS IS THE BULLSHIT THAT PUSHES NEW PEOPLE AWAY FIX THIS CCP.... |
