PC appeals to a group of specific large corporations that want to have territory wars. They do not represent the majority of Dust players. Why we are trying to appeal to them is what baffles me. We are appealing to the Black Olives and the Mushrooms of the party, when there are many more Pepperoni and Extra Cheeses.
EDIT: I don't believe that PC should be completely left out of development. I believe it should just be behind such things as PvE, additional maps, more weapons, missing racial vehicles, improving the new player tutorial.
Most of the CPM got elected on the platform of fixing PC. PC has been their longest standing grievance since passive ISK was removed. Im glad CCP is finally going to appease them and get it out of the way so that they can focus on building the game as a whole. It looks like "corporation battles" might come back, and that also seems to be a big deal for alot of the veteran corps. Get these people the organized fighting they want and the territory disputes, and then everyone will be more or less happy. Im personally looking forward to simple trading. Also, on that note, lunchtime!
I don't believe that's true. Zatara definitely is the big PC person, but if anything, my big push was EVE link. But I think PC is really what the game is meant to be about, or at least, that sort of gameplay, as CCP sees it, and hence they want to revamp that system into something a larger portion of the playerbase can enjoy.
The new PC stuff should be explicitly be designed with less top tier folks in mind.

I don't ******* understand how the community and/or CCP doesn't see how these things could also improve NPE.... If we want to keep players how about we fix the god damn game so it's playable for the majority and not the minority...
There's some manner of balance to this. If you only develop new features, but don't fix bugs, then you build a very poor quality game. But if you focus only on bug fixing, and you don't add new gameplay, players will just get bored and leave. You have to be working on both.
And some problems are easier to fix than others too. CCP has knocked out a lot of big pet peeves in recent builds, but obviously, there's plenty more to do. The biggest challenge with hunting bugs is how much time you might invest in trying to figure it out, and still fail to solve it. Things like that can give the impression you're doing nothing, when you might be working on it.
