Im on my phone so bear with me on the formatting and general typing.
Idea is effectively to offer up a subscription method for players. $14.95 a month, as per the usual rate of other games. Scaling system rewards concurrent membership rates and longer subscription durations with better value/rewards. For example:
Month One: 5 Salvage keys, 30d Active Booster, 30d Passive Booster, 5% discount toward visual customization items.
Month Six: 30 salvage keys, 30d Active Booster, 30d Passive Booster, 30% discounted visual customization items.
The sky is the limit with what the subscription provides. Could be stuff that is already in game, just bundled together, or we could offer more interesting perks including (but not limited to):
Exclusive Visual Customization items Bi-yearly or Yearly Respecs Exclusive Forum Icons Exclusive Titles Expanded forum signature Discounted aurum purchases or visual customization Bundled keys/boosters Exclusive deals/offers/promos
Discuss.

By rewarding players who choose to pay a premium every month that they were going to pay anyway...? You do realize that $15 is like 31,000 aurum, which could afford you the stuff listed in Month One -right now- with current in-game prices and youd still have some Aurum left over..... The only difference is Id have a forum avatar that shows other players that I am dishing out $15 a month consistently and Id get a discount (if that was something CCP wanted to do) BECAUSE I chose to support the game monthly..... Which, as stated, I am going to do anyway.
I dont see how this gives anyone an unfair advantage being as the **** is already in game anyway.

The unfair advantage would be "lol look at me i pay for stuff, stfu free player".(using forum changes) This would begin the rift to free players being ignored.
Then it'll become "give us payers our own section of the forum, and make it so peasants can't see it let alone comment on it".
Then it goes to threats such as "stop listening to the poor people or i'll stop buying". (as has been done before)
As to in-game benefits? Those are ok. Discounts would be obvious, but only after a X month subscription.
Just no to any 'flashy' changes,it just starts the 'us vs them' mindset.

Man, I was wrong when I went about all my pay-to-win arguments.
I should have said:
"Oh, it's absolutely okay to have BPO's, Boosters, Market Agents, Salvage Boxes, etc in the game. That's is totally okay. What is -NOT- okay is the people with the money to pay for those items. Those people are OP and they should have never been allowed to have money to spend on a video game they enjoy playing."
Because that's what this sounds like.
You guys realize how ridiculous fighting this is? It's pay-to-win because I suggested that we have better bundled items - ITEMS THAT ARE ALREADY IN THE GAME - to more accommodate a subscription-like theme. To encourage players to buy these items (that they already do) with some sort of consistency. But that will lead to some craziness like segregation between players who pay for the game (to continue existing and developing) and players that don't?
Your problem isn't with the items, it's with the fact that people want to buy the items... I don't... I can't even begin to understand this logic. I truly can't.

A subscription would have been much better than some of the items we have - APEX / Jara And if it was just handing out gear/vanity items they would give you the same advantage. I have never noticed CCP look into implementing subscriptions for Dust, so it seems unlikely Whether it's because they can't/won't or just don't want to sell a work in progress they have not done it
If they want to make a regular income from a 'subscription' I would try another route and rent servers to corps, where they can alter map rotation/gamemode and whether it's open to public or not A private game would allow you more choices with gamemode etc but reward no SP/ISK Where leaving it on standard settings allows it to be a pub server.. It would need work but it - Provides content - Provides $$$ for CCP
I'd much rather scotty was fired and we had server options as in MGS4 and Battlefield. There would be all of the active pubs visible on a contracts menu, then highlight the altered modes We choose where to deploy, possibly be shown the ping along with player count and even average 'meta'

I have no problem with paying a subscription fee for a game, provided:
1. The subscription fee is worth the money spent (since it is after all a F2P game) 2. The subscription fee isn't pay2win (notice how it may conflict with item #1) because I reserver the right to end my subscription without worrying about being roflstomped by those who are still subbed 3. I can buy and sell subscription time to other players (even if indirectly through AUR)

That's not... really the way it works though. The battleservers allow players to fight against each other but beyond that we're all tied to a single server, the Eve server.

Those are good examples because they DON'T tell you who's subbed.
If you were to make it where their forum avatar was special because of the subscription, that's when the 'listen to me i paid money' attitude begins.
However as i said before (which you obviously ignored).
In-game benefits are fine. Out of game, such as the forums, would lead to an entitled attitude.
I said this would be a good idea. And believe,if bundled right, could make CCP more money.

If you had actually looked into the links given, you'd have instantly noticed that Warframe Prime Access gives exclusive profile icons....................
EDIT: And this isn't even covering the fact that you would be able to spot a subscriber in-game just from their visual customization in the other games, among other obvious details... You're making a problem out of nothing and have absolutely no evidence to show that the community would instantly segregate itself if given such a minor silly perk as a different colored forum avatar...

Just so you know, Dust is not in a very good position right now to go into a subscription model gameplay wise. It doesn't have what Eve Online has that makes it worth the extra cost of continuing to play it.
Also, moving this to a subscription model, even if offered as an option, might cause Dust to lose its exemption status offered to free-to-play games for the PS4 (should Dust ever port over to that platform). PS4 currently requires all online multiplayer games to have a PlayStation+ subscription. However, free-to-play games like Dust would be exempt from requirement. If your idea is ever implemented, I don't know for sure if Dust would still have that status or if Sony would remove that exempt status.
