The unfair advantage would be "lol look at me i pay for stuff,stfu free player".(using forum changes)
This would begin the rift to free players being ignored.
Then it'll become "give us payers our own section of the forum,and make it so peasants can't see it let alone comment on it".
Then it goes to threats such as "stop listening to the poor people or i'll stop buying". (as has been done before)
As to in-game benefits?
Those are ok.
Discounts would be obvious,but only after a X month subscription.
Just no to any 'flashy' changes,it just starts the 'us vs them' mindset.

Those are good examples because they DON'T tell you who's subbed.
If you were to make it where their forum avatar was special because of the subscription,that's when the 'listen to me i paid money' attitude begins.
However as i said before (which you obviously ignored).
In-game benefits are fine.
Out of game,such as the forums, would lead to an entitled attitude.
I said this would be a good idea.
And believe,if bundled right,could make CCP more money.
Like X free instant boosts for a X month subscription.

If you had actually looked into the links given, you'd have instantly noticed that Warframe Prime Access gives exclusive profile icons.................... EDIT: And this isn't even covering the fact that you would be able to spot a subscriber in-game just from their visual customization in the other games, among other obvious details... You're making a problem out of nothing and have absolutely no evidence to show that the community would instantly segregate itself if given such a minor silly perk as a different colored forum avatar...

Have you been on these forums long?
Because before the FF 'announcement' there were players trying to get the forums separated based on AUR purchases.
In game is where i will draw my line.
Increased fittings? Sure
Faster loyalty points gain (FW)? Ok
Faster loyalty rank increase? Mm hmm
Faster sp gain?Alright
Unique areas besides the MQ to hang out in? Go for it
Forums' changes? Hell to the no.
It would be taken as an automatic 'listen to me,and ignore the poor guy' when it comes to suggestions and ideas and would negatively influence all future ideas put forward by the community.
You want to see an example?
Look at PC,all the 1337 corps clique up and no one else has a chance.
That is exactly what these forums will become if changes like those are made.
