But it usually crashes on a spawn(20%) or a death(75%), so if you're very active in a match it counts against you to a certain extent. |

I have the freezing problem as well, usually after 5-6 matches. Running an old 'brick' ps3, but it does not appear to be heat issues (not hot to the touch) and it runs other games and netflix just fine for hours. My freeze's usually happen towards the end of matches, right when I think the victory or defeat message is going to appear.
Usually the game lags just a bit before these screens appear, for the freezing the lag just turns into a frozen screen... image remains unchanged, ps3 is unresponsive, im forced to restart it. It does happen consistently. |

Everybody freezes..... And you should consider yourself lucky, i freeze every 2 matches now.... |

i had the same thing happen to me, had to completly restart PS3, plus i had to re-login to PSN and reset it back to using my HDI cord. never had to do that before when my PS3 froze |

The last 4 games I've played have crashed with only a little bit left of the game to go. Without fail. This would not get on my nerves so much if my team wasn't winning at the time. I accept that rename is in era, why else would we be testing it. But you can understand the frustration caused by this. I think I'll have to put it down now to the servers being unable to cope with te increase in traffic. As I logged on at 12.30GMT, 11.30 CST and have payed through the day, the freezes have become significantly more frequent the later it gets. My assumption is now that it is 18.43 the traffic has peaked, what with people Coming home from work and logging on.
I'll try again tomorrow or late this evening and see how it goes. |

Last weekend I was completely fine, today I've racked up 2 frozen games out of the total of 7.
Hopefully the server will be more kinder tomorrow. |

Could anyone please point out a CCP (anywhere on the forums) that clearly recognizes, confirms, and gives some feedback regarding the hard freezes?
What is happening? Does CCP know?
This issue is clearly still a big overarching problem for testers but it is unclear whether the development staff agree.
Has CCP said definitively that this issue will be resolved on the 29JUN patch? Do they even know what it is and how to fix it?
Is it useful for CCP Devs for testers to keep posting about it since IT KEEPS HAPPENING without dev feedback? |

in skirmish it lock up a lot , especially in crowded spaces or crowded spaces that have stairs , in ambush i play for hours untill i get one freeze |

Ok I am in perma freeze right now...............it seems that if you try to do the same function it will freeze. My specific issue was attempting to access the Squad leader commands that I do not seem to have access to. Yes, I was in command of the squad I was in with 6 members in the squad.
I kept hitting down on the D pad to get overview of map and could sellect various objects but could not access or see any squad commands. I hit all the buttons...........start, select, the R and L combos and the such and no commands. I stayed in one spot behind cover experimenting to see if these so called squad commands were available.......I could not find them at all.
Well after a few tries I went to hit the Select button to access my squad roster and the game froze with a gray screen. I can still hear the music and I can even the wind blowing from the game. But the entire game is frozen............I am going to have to reboot once again. This is the second time it has happened today.............this time I actually was keeping track of everything I was doing. So...........1 factor that causes perma freeze is the continous attemtp to do a task in the game...ie continous squad command, or continous vehicle call or accessing the menu while in game to many times or even accessing the communicating function to many times.
Really is bad if you are trying to restock your suit while in battle or trying to communicate with those who do not have mics. I feel that for those people who do not have mics they should atleast be able to hear the chatter of their squad through their tv. I want to use ZIpper's Socom game............if you do not have a mic, you can still hear those players on your team with a mic, you just can not respond for the obvious. That could be a very good thing to have or add to the game...........even though some squad mates do not have mics, they atleast know what orders are being called out or were to go and the such. |

Nothing worse than coming close to winning a match, when you've hacked dozens of targets, made good kills, seldom died and then BAM! Frozen with the only option a reboot. Heh! That stinks.  |

I have had numerous hard freezes, always taking place between session changes. holding area to dropsite, dropsite to ground, death to dropsite, even reward to quarters. |

the Freezing problems are really due to the UnReal Engine ccp has elected to build Dust514 with. |
