Im also getting perma freezes, mostly after 4-5 games at different points, respawning, reloading, dieing, match over animation.
first i thought its because of heat but after i bought me an notebook cooling pad and placed my ps3 slim vertical it still happens.
it also just feels warm not hot or something. |

Freeze is really an issue in this beta, we are more that 20 clan mates already in this beta, just few minutes ago we were 7 in the same game(3 on one side, 4 on the other), and 6 of us froze almost at the same time (within the same 2minutes), also there is really something with the game serv... that can't be just our 6 playstation 3 overheating... specially at the same time |

Rebooting myself from a permafreeze. I was in the map to choose where to respawn and the game froze, I had sound but I could not choose anyplace to spawn to and I couldn't use any bottoms to try to kick myself out. I stayed in the permafreeze untill I found this forum post and restarted my PS3. Its really frustrating since I now did not get any reward from the match at all since I didn't finish the match.
It is very frustrating.
Did it a few times last night as well, I thoguth it was the ps3 at the time. Although it does not seem to be even warm. so I don't thinki it is an overheat. |

Just checking in the say I have the same problem every 2-4 matches. Major problem always seems to happen around respawns for me, I also find spawning itself a rather laggy affair so potentially related? |

yea this needs to be addressed. a bug like this is a game killer. I've frozen about 15% of all games so far into the beta and it always seems to be when I'm doing well. 
I hope that they can fix this issue because if they can't this game will flop. |

We had the same issues on MAG.... and zipper never really fixed it...
I don't expect have 0 freeze, but at least reduce it at acceptable proportions... like less than 5% games. Zipper for example, allowed u to rejoin the game u froze in and give you back your points, kills, death, etc...
In a game like Dust514 in which you lose more than just your stats and your time, u loose isk too  , that kind of system could be a good thing in the case of CCP can't eradicate Mr Freeze. |

Just crashed again. chose my new drop suit on a respawn, waited for the clock count down to finish. As soon as the clock finished counting down it went to a black screen with nothing on it but up at the top Closed Testing - Work in Progress and who just killed who. (Otto Golaso (Boundless Heavy Machine Gun) Yaerus Kross.
No buttons on the controller respond at all not even the PS button. |

I've also already mentioned this before, but as an added bonus, it just failed to allow me to respawn (new one for me). I hit start to see if there was anything I could do in the menu to help this (vain I know) and interestingly, it attempted to respawn me in the same location as my death, with very low res textures on all visible terrain. |

current rumor is that it's a memory leak issue, this is why it often happens by your 3rd match, and almost always on your 4th. basically all these used memory sectors start to pile up, eventually there isnt any room left, or memory fetchers get stuck in an infinite loop looking for somewhere to get data.
the really weird part is how it restricts usage of the ps3 button, and has NO EFFECT on voice comms or music. i kept right on talking with some squadmates after i froze, it was so weird.
so as of now, your main workaround is to reset your ps3 after finishing your second consecutive game
going for a third game is just too risky
also pray for a fix :/ |

I now cannot even choose my character. I simply get to the screen, press start and instead of logging in, my game and console freezes and i have to hard reboot.

I haven't managed to complete a match in I think an hour and a half, correction, I got into a match with roughly 30 seconds left till the MCC docked.... But between respawn bugs and hard locks I have lost a good chunk of gear and almost no SP/isk gain |

I tend to only freeze when I spawn sometimes. Traveling isn't that bad for me. It's just between dying and re-spawning since it's loading the map twice: overlay and when deployed. I imagine that it's hard on the puny 256MB of RAM (and 256 MB of VRAM) that the PS3 only has. |

I just played my first match and got a hard freeze after it was over, got stuck on the picture of a battlefield building of some sort after I pressed Square to go back to my Merc quarters. I had to push the PS3 power button to get out of the freeze, pushing the PS button had no effect, nor did holding the button down |

I found that the freezing was specific. It happens when a spawn location is in the process of being converted. Then a black screen and hard freeze. Have to turn off system and restart. Any one else having this issue? |

After a few more days of testing this, I've noticed that it seems to happen mainly when my wireless network connection decides to degrade. Since then I have yet to have my client freeze, but have noticed a few other issues from it. It almost seems that the client desyncs from the Dust servers, and never refreshes the connection (causing in-game crash w/ music still going). If it happens when in the Mercenary Quarters, the market is completely unresponsive. You can try to buy things or restock from a dropsuit fit, and it just continues to try to buy things, but never succeeds to even purchase one item. Same with the Battle Finder. It will just say "waiting for battle", and never actually allow you to join.
Of course after a client restart, all is good. |

I was having a great game, and of course... FREEZE!!! I was running down a hallway, not shooting, or being shot. I don't know what's causing the freezing for me but it's a pretty major issue. I'm tired of losing my SP. Hopefully there's a fix on the way. |

I had a freeze where I had selected a spawn point, then it was taken before my dropsuit list came up, I then selected a dropsuit anyway and the game crashed, had to shot off PS3.
I imagine it was selecting the dropsuit without a spawn point that did it, though I can't be sure. |

Thought this might have been fixed but today after about 5 games whilst in a on a support turret in a tank killing everyone and blowing stuff up for 10 mins it perma freezed on me. Hasn't happened to me since last week which is why I thought it may have been fixed, but perhaps I haven't been playing enough.
Using PS3 Slim, Controller and Sony headset if this helps any.
Would love to see this fixed.
