So i keep perma freezing once every 5 matches, this is very frustrating! Especially since i then have to reboot my PS3 + i get no reward from playing on the map, and since i usually drop a tank just for fun i lost my tank + my reward.
Apart from perma freezing the lag is still the most important factor of destroying fun.
I bet there are already some (or a lot of) topics around this but please, ccp, this is a serious issue. It is rather hard to test something properly with lag interfering with everything. The only thing we now see, when speaking about balance, is that some classes/ weapons perform better in a laggy environment. I bet once the lag/freeze problem is solves, all testing will go a lot smoother and the real issues will be discovered much faster and will be fixed in the right way.
On a sidenote: Does anyone know if players from EVE will be able to give money to players in DUST 514? or will there only be 'interaction' (when speaking about money) in the market? (or will every item be seeded by npc's 4ever?)

I'm also having this problem - I haven't started using vehicles yet as a result (at least, none that I've purchased).
The lag isn't that big of an issue for me, but I'm also one of the last people I know to be affected by lag, so that's not saying much. |

apparently CCP is against me, for everytime I have a good match and am on a roll, I lock up, have to quit the game, lose any SP, AND ANY DROPSUITS AND GEAR I HAD. QQ |

I have had this happen too. It's random some times gun firing, once in truck, once in gun, etc. |

Every 5 matches?  Have you noticed if it is only when in a vehicle? I have had to reboot the PS3 only twice in the whole weekend (which I have to say it isn't unusual for PS3 games), and I've played something like 3 hours in a row, but never used vehicles, that's why I'm asking.

I have never 'crashed' (perma froze) while being IN a vehicle. I just meant that i usually just drop heavy tanks just for the fun of it and that sometimes the game perma feezes letting me lose a tank + not getting a reward for the game.
The place where i froze the most were in the final area of the objective map. Especially around objective B. In the desert i am usually fine. |

I had permanent freeze happen after getting blown up in a vehicle and trying to respawn then a couple other times during battle. |

Three hard freezes for me this last weekend. Once while manning the turret of a LAV, once while on foot just traveling (no action taking place), once while in combat on foot. |

Had a few of these happen to me as well. Twice were immediately upon respawning. The other times were in combat. Once it occurred while I was firing. The steady drone of my assault rifle endless discharging was strangely soothing. Each occurrance required a reboot of the PS3. |

Oh I would also like to add that stairs tend to make lag worse and increase the odds of receiving perma freeze. |

What you are saying is interesting as i had the feeling that hard reboot occurs mostly when i'm in a game where i did A LOT of stuff. On the games where i mostly look around, i never freeze.
Is it possible that being involved in a lot of actions on the map (hacking, etc..) could overwhelm the client and thus cause a freeze. |

I'll agree with the hypothesis. I've had several hard freezes but I couldn't quite make a connection between the times. Now that you mention it though, they were all in fairly action-heavy areas. Usually shortly after a kill while going for another one, near a building, in the thick of the action. |

CCP needs to utilize the PS3 Crash Reporter. this could potentially include more information for themselves in determining where the issue may lie.
many of you may be familiar with this PS3 Crash Reporter, as sometimes when you freeze and have to reboot, the next time the PS3 comes up it asks you to send Sony a Report |

Last weekend I had at least two perma freezes that required a hard reboot.
First time owning a ps3 though so wasn't sure if that was common with other games. |

Happened to me only once today... got Swarmed, swapped weapon to Swarm to return the favor on respawn, Fired at close range, froze solid.

Currently just a theory, but I think it may have been matches after I spent time on market browsing and purchasing and/or messing with skills. When I.get off work I'll have to test this. |

Last weekend I had 1 freeze in quite a few hours, although I was mainly playing ambush. Last night playing skirmish I had 4 hard locks in 1 hour! |

I played for 9 hours yesterday. Hard freeze's every 5 or so matches, all on the skirmish levels. Doesn't seem to be a pattern, sometimes I was in a building, or using a turret, or just firing weapons. |

For me all hardfreezes happened during spawn countdown or when the spawning itself happens, yesterday 3 times in a row.
a hotfix would be much appreciated! its extremly frustrating |

Since there's a varied number of situations with freezes , this may or may not help.
I saw freezes during death animations. Both times they seemed to occur within the central buildings. |

right now playing is a waste of ISK for me since i never get any rewards

have you tried not playing in skirmish? have you tried playing in the different max players matches?
i know most of everyone was flat out in the craterlake skirmish (32 max player). i started in the 24 max player for a little while with no problem. then spent the majority of the rest of my night on to craterlake as that was where everyone was at. only 3 hard freezes in probably 8 hours. |

Owkey, i have noticed there are a lot more people playing the beta (I think there are always around 2 or even 3 times as many people as last weekend). I have also noticed that lag became worse and perma freeze even more frequent :(.
I think it is safe to say that this can be a very determing factor too.
To CCP: w8 with inviting more people in to the beta! (well it is not that i demand you to do so xD, but it would be a wise thing)
Fix the lag/ perma freeze issues first before it gets worse. Unless you want it to get worse so you can find a solution easier? (Don't really know that much about fixing these issues but that could also be possible ^^)
