What i think you should do is leave the regular heavy and commando suit the way they are now, and turn the sentinels into something of a small tank (lot more armor and shield, resistance etc.). Give them a special armor glass "Sentinel armor plates and repairers" and give these armor plates and rep their own skill tree in the armors branch. Also, because the regular heavy suits would use HMG and Forge guns, give them a special weapon (maybe a stronger HMG of something along the lines) and remove their side arm slot. They would be the ultimate anti-infantry unit. I might sound like i want an unkillabe suit for myself, but in order to balance it out i came up with this. Make them so the sentinels move at less then half the speed they do now and make them unable to use vehicles and cant spawn at dropuplinks or CRU and are force to walk from mcc. And give them a bigger frame (not too big so they can still run inside buildings) and give them a large hit box so that they are hard to miss and cant strafe because they are slow. And weapons shouls still work on them but to a lesser ability, so you would have to use an antivehicle weapon. Giving swarm launchers the ability to lock and fire at these sentinels would be great, and maybe add a new weapon or two to fight them. In aditions these heavy should be strong enough to destroy an lav and stand against a tank or hav. By stand against i mean be able to do some damage to them and take a few shot from them, but i do not mean they should be able to take out a tank on their own. With 2 more of these sentinels yes but not alone. It would be a team effort to take down a sentinel, and you shouls give extra warpoints for killing a sentinel. And when buying a sentinel they would cost a great amount of money. The proto sentinel would cost the same as a hav, if not even more. This is a rough idea of mine and it does need "some" working. Sentinel are suppose to be these badass guys who tank shots like a , well, tank. But they are easily killed by an assault suit, so i thought of this. I dont know how others would think about this, so ill gladly read your feedbacks on this. |

Sorry, but...no. They are fine as is, if anything i think their resistance bonuses need to be adjusted based on their primary tank and opposing racial weaponry. EX: Amarr has armor resistance against projectiles and shield resistance to plasma, with armor resistance being higher than shield. The HMG is also in need of a few minor adjustments. What you are proposing is something crazy that would be hard to implement in this game and effectively changing the sentinels a whole.

HMG sentinel is the strongest suit in the game I consider myself to be decent, not a pro, but decent. And i can tell you, a HMG sentinel is NOT the strongest suit. If you have a proto minmatar assault and a proto amarr sentinel, the amarr will lose. The assault is going to have a strong weapon, it can deal more damage (because of more slots) and will be faster so hes harder to hit. Hell, 90% i win a 1v1 against a sentinel with an assault. Now if the heavy has a logi with him sure, its the strongest suit. But when that logi dies youre done. |

As well as having way more armor and shield than a assault... And you think they are the worst suit in th game? Once you get out to about 30m yea, but any sentinel doing his job, which is defending a choke point or taking a choke point will not lose to an assault of equal skill.

I don't know how others would think about this, so ill gladly read your feedback on this. You are suggesting they introduce MTAC's using enlarged Sentinel art assets. This is an interesting idea. You would get a better reaction though if you would call them MTAC's rather than Sentinels.
The way you composed your suggestion you are going to **** off Sentinels by suggesting their class be eliminated and get replaced with what are essentually MTAC's, while you also **** off the Sentinel haters because it sounds like you are suggesting that Sentienls should be even more powerful than they are now.
I suggest that you copy and paste my edited post into your original post, and then go through and change "Sentinel" to MTAC were appropriate.

So if one team deploys 16 Sentinels, you want the other team to need 48-64 Militia infantry to take them on?
Ok so lets see, the difference between a Militia Weapon and a Proto one is about 10% DPS so if the other team is entirely fit with proto weapons we can knock off 10% needed so thats down to 43-58 infantry to deal with the Sentinels.
Ok so lets put them all in proto suits now, we'll just assume they have double the HP as a Militia suit which is very liberal and not accurate but I'll give you the benefit on the doubt for an example. So if they have double HP then you could theoretically cut the number of needed infantry in half yeah? So now you need 21-29 fully fit proto infantry to fight the 16 sentinels. Too bad the most you can deploy is 16, so by your definition, non-sentinels would be screwed.
Do you see why your logic is flawed?

By making it so that these sentinels would need a great amount of sp to be used, it would mean that you couldnt use them in academy. And after academy there would be people with the recruired weapons to take them down more easily. But that would of course mean that everyone would run anti-sentinel like the do av right now.
But this was only a rough idea, and i knew it would need working so it would be balanced. But thank you for your opinnion, it was actually a really good one. |

Well if you go with what Fox said and make this actually an MTAC which would be considered a vehicle, it's a bit more reasonable since vehicles have a hard limit of how many can exist in a match at once. So I'd go with that approach, even if the existence of MTACs are a bit of an ongoing joke since Fanfest 2013

So I'd go with that approach, even if the existence of MTACs are a bit of an ongoing joke since Fanfest 2013 Well that would mean you couldnt uplink it into objectives and it would eliminate 16 sentinel fights.
So in short, keep the sentinels the way they are and add mech/power armor suit in the game.
