I like the idea of this thread. A lot of the reason some people have stuck with Dust as long as they have is the community. And while Assaults may be doing well at the moment, they might not in the future, whether they be FotM or super under performing.
In either case, it is always good to have reasonable discussion regarding either scenario as its always good to be more proactive regarding a role you care about rather than just letting certain unreasonable members of the community, like unreasonable heavies that will say Assaults were fine pre 1.10 etc.

I wonder when Gal and Cal assaults will get useful bonuses. I remember Rattati mentioning wanting hybrid-rail kick reduction for Caldari. I think Gallente should maybe get a a bonus to optimal and/or effective range of hybrid-plasma weapons.

I wouldn't mind but I know a lot of people would cite, "NO AR WAS OP IN CLOSED BETA", lol.
Although, if we're going to appeal for weaknesses (Amarr bonus toward heat gameplay, Caldari bonus toward kick gameplay) then it'd make sense to have a bonus that appeals to Gallente weaknesses. Dispersion is -kinda- a good idea but we already have Sharpshooter, so it's kinda pointless. I wish I could say that bonus made the difference but it doesn't. Shotguns are kinda hit or miss as to whether you as a player like it, it's completely useless for the Plasma Cannon, and the Ion Pistol is still kinda too broken for it to make a difference.
So, I'm down for it. Maybe a falloff range increase to increase the damage outside of the optimal would be a bit more fair than just a straight optimal range bonus, though... Think an optimal range bonus would just have other Assault's migrating to the Gallente as the AR suddenly becomes more powerful than their racial weapon. Just as well, Shotgun proliferation would be instantaneous with an optimal range bonus, me thinks.

I would really rather have this thread not die, so I thought it would be a good idea to post something here.
The assaults are pretty well balanced as of now. I am still dying to scouts with shotguns or remotes a bit too much in my opinion. Heavies decimate assaults in any sort of close engagement. Heavies are supposed to do this, but, as many have pointed out, they are able to do it much too easily and consistently.
Since rifles are more or less the main weapon of assaults, I think I will discuss them a bit. Breach assault rifles are being nerfed in echo, but not enough. They need less damage or a significant recoil increase or something along those lines. I believe the regular scrambler rifle is still too powerful, but maybe thats just me and I dont know how to fix it without ruining the weapon. Tactical assault rifles may be spammed after echo due to the large clip size increase and its hugh rate of fire cap. The clip probably doesnt need to be 30 and the cap should probably be around 500 or 600. I still think the regular rail rifle needs a kick reduction while aiming down sights. Assault rail rifle seems fine and the regular assault rifle should be after echo. I dont know about the burst assault rifle or the assault scrambler rifle. Combat rifles seem pretty good, but inexplicably melt my shields much quicker than they should.
I have heard people saying that the minmatar assault is or will be flavor of the month. I have this assault suit along with the caldari and amarr. I prefer my caldari suit. Im not sure if the minmatar will be ovepowered or not. Perhaps it is just the suit that the flavor of the month community members that ran scouts are flocking to because of its speed.
Everybody knows the caldari and gallente assault suits need different bonuses. The caldari reload bonus is always nice, but it is definitely much worse than the amarr and minmatar bonuses. From what I have heard, the gallente bonus is worthless. The caldari could use a spool time or kick reduction. For gallente, I would probably do some sort of range bonus. The minmatar and amarr bonuses are derived from the shortcomings of their weapons, or at least their rifles. The caldari and gallente should be the same in that regard.
Please let me know what you guys think about all of these thoughts.

Not including Local, Squad, etc. I.E: all the basic channels that you will always have. I seriously doubt you have eight player made channels and are still able to play the game without constant freezing and/or lag.

Few stats I want to throw out there for this week:
Total Kills from The Assault Conglomerate: 8,516 Average Kills: 304 Average KDR Change: -0.01 Average W/L Ratio Change: -0.03 Average WP Increase: 32,195
Did a bit of refining on how MVP for the Week is calculated, removing percentages (because it's a lot more math than honestly necessary) in place of hard decimal values on KDR and W/L Ratio. You guys will notice some changes, particularly in the form of color, indicating certain things:
Blue: Super congrats! You landed MVP this week and are being awarded that $5 Aurum PSN code. You can expect a letter in the in-game mail soon containing your redeemable Aurum code. (This will continue until CCP gets back to me on whether or not this is RMT or they outright ban me without warning).
Green: Generally means good news. Congratulations, you did a really good job and landed highest in the category.
Red: You are underperforming compared to your peers. This may be due to being a new arrival to the Conglomerate stat tracking, or simply because you are not playing the game. Either way, you performed below average.

These would be good fittings approved by the experts of said suit. I have tested a wide variety of fittings on the Gallente Assault and as such know what works and what doesn't for that particular suit.

Here are the normal combinations that I use, plus a couple that I know fellow Gallenteans use.
Stats are general, because I don't have the exact numbers with me right now.
Low slot combinations: 2x ENH plates + 3x CPX reps - point holding repping fit (600ish armour, 30 HP/s. Strongly recommend against using complex plates - you'll barely be able to strafe, and the fitting resources will be obscene) 3x CPX ferroscales + 2x CPX reps - unencumbered rep tank (0% speed penalty, 640 armour, ~21 HP/s) 3x CPX reactives + 2x CPX kincats - speedy fit, decent rep, decent HP (9m/s run speed, 580 armour, 13.5 HP/s) 4x CPX reactives + 1x CPX kincat - tougher version of the speedfit, gets a little more HP and rep but drops down to 8m/s run speed.

My preferred method of running a Galassault means that an increased shield buffer is often very useful. Most of these low slot combinations are fitting intensive, so you won't be fitting triple complex shields or damage mods, but a precision enhancer can be useful and doesn't take up PG, so you can often at least get in double ENH shield extenders.
