I would really rather have this thread not die, so I thought it would be a good idea to post something here.
The assaults are pretty well balanced as of now. I am still dying to scouts with shotguns or remotes a bit too much in my opinion. Heavies decimate assaults in any sort of close engagement. Heavies are supposed to do this, but, as many have pointed out, they are able to do it much too easily and consistently.
Since rifles are more or less the main weapon of assaults, I think I will discuss them a bit. Breach assault rifles are being nerfed in echo, but not enough. They need less damage or a significant recoil increase or something along those lines. I believe the regular scrambler rifle is still too powerful, but maybe thats just me and I dont know how to fix it without ruining the weapon. Tactical assault rifles may be spammed after echo due to the large clip size increase and its hugh rate of fire cap. The clip probably doesnt need to be 30 and the cap should probably be around 500 or 600. I still think the regular rail rifle needs a kick reduction while aiming down sights. Assault rail rifle seems fine and the regular assault rifle should be after echo. I dont know about the burst assault rifle or the assault scrambler rifle. Combat rifles seem pretty good, but inexplicably melt my shields much quicker than they should.
I have heard people saying that the minmatar assault is or will be flavor of the month. I have this assault suit along with the caldari and amarr. I prefer my caldari suit. Im not sure if the minmatar will be ovepowered or not. Perhaps it is just the suit that the flavor of the month community members that ran scouts are flocking to because of its speed.
Everybody knows the caldari and gallente assault suits need different bonuses. The caldari reload bonus is always nice, but it is definitely much worse than the amarr and minmatar bonuses. From what I have heard, the gallente bonus is worthless. The caldari could use a spool time or kick reduction. For gallente, I would probably do some sort of range bonus. The minmatar and amarr bonuses are derived from the shortcomings of their weapons, or at least their rifles. The caldari and gallente should be the same in that regard.
Please let me know what you guys think about all of these thoughts.
