In new eden there are four superpowers, no the ORE corporation doesn't count.
Matari: Undesputed masters of torture, the warmongering republic isn't shy about engaging in combat, any means necessary to further thier tribe's goals. Noted for thier surprisingly subtle poison mastery.
Amarr: Religious slavers, they use thier faith as a justification for any 'Immoral' actions from slavery to war. Known to turn LIVING subjects into biomass for thier soldier's clones.
Gallente: Lustfull, flirt prone, and openly deceptive, the gallente are not above seduction, or assassination. Known to use prisoners of war as 'test subjects' in. Rumoured to use mind control.
Calldari: THE brutal mega corporation, known for thier penny pinching ways and thier cronic backstabbing disorders. Even more secretive than the Gallente. Calldari born are known to frequently be the downfall of powerful rivals alliances, and are unsettling fast to the trigger on civilians of other races.
So Mercs: with who do you side?

Where did you get the notion the Amarr use people as biomass? Or that the Minmatar are masters of torture, or the Gallente use mind control, or that the Caldari are inherently deceitful?
All of those synopses are lacking for a better word. None capture the actually aspects of any of their cultures.

Basicly picking on some 'moraly questionable' stereotypes, dark sense o humor I know, but it's not ment to be serious.

All of those synopses are lacking for a better word. None capture the actually aspects of any of their cultures. Yeah. If anything, I'd say the Gallente have the best torture tactics.
The Gallente will make sure you stay alive and awake, no matter what. And oftentimes they'll do the torture for no reason at all...
And where did you ever read or hear the Amarr use living people as biomass? I'd like a link.
The Gallente are also absolutely horrid to their POWs, what with all the **** and purely sadistic torture they perform on them. They also have slaves you've never even heard of, and they treat theirs much worse the the Amarr treat theirs. They cut their faces off and transplant it onto themselves, in pursuit of "beauty", even though they have the technology to make completely custom faces. Its all about the "thrill" of stealing someone's face from them, and just being sadistic freaks in general. So yeah, I don't buy into the "Freedom" crap. They do things that make the Amarr look like actual angels. They are the only race that really doesn't have ANY real redeeming features IMO.

Fizzer is referencing the EVE chronicles A Beautiful Face......and every race does this. Every group according to these chronicles has a shady under belly where privately owned slaves, apparently, have their faces harvested for transplants..... this is not just a Gallentean thing.
"Like ghosts, the masked people move among them. In the Amarr colonies they wear chrome: expressionless ovals with a darkly golden sheen from the electric lamplights, with horizontal slits for eyes, nose and mouth. In Gallente space their masks are made of plaster, blackened with soot, sweat and blood. The Minmatars' are more functional: metal contraptions with hinges at the jaws, and lids that can be slid over the eyes.
Oddly enough, it is the Caldari who have lent theirs the most personality. Like the Amarr they have oval masks, but these are bone white and have been fashioned into the shape of a face. The face is the same on all masks: the same high cheekbones, the same curve in the eyebrows, the same thin lips. These masks are the only ones with no holes for the mouths, and their bearers must lift them slightly from their faces to eat."
and
"Definitely. Most of them in marketing," Vertan said with a grin. "The procedure is actually quite simple these days. The biggest hurdle is still in people's minds. They've got these ideas of us tearing the faces off people and pasting them on others, like butcher surgeons. It's been a lot of work to combat misconceptions like those."
The Gallente do very horrid things to their POW's not only physical and mental abuse but inferred sexual abuse as well. The Caldari are know to send their criminals to the worst kinds of labour camps known to New Eden, the Amarr simply enslave their captives, and the Minmatar...... they do some nasty things.
In the Chronicle King Slaver they send Amarrian captives to prisons where they basically sadistically play mind games with their captives, beat them, and force them to do certain things if they lose "the game".
"The guards played games. One day per week was a holiday, during which inmates were free to rest, roam about or even leave the area altogether. No one wandered; the sun-drenched desert and the swampy woods beyond were formidable repellants. Instead, the guards would hide things - anything from colored pebbles to little skeins or wooden plaques with pictures of Amarrian idols - in the possessions of some random, unknown prisoner, then call out a hunt. If the items were found before sundown, and the right person given up, that individual would usually have their rations withdrawn for the next two days. If the items were not found, everyone lost their rations. That was the basic version of the game, but some guards were more inventive than others, and occasionally offered an alternative to the rations - especially if the target looked like they wouldn't last two days without food.
One liked people to eat sand, or wads of someone else's hair. The prisoner saw a friend ingest so much dirt that his exhalations left little muddy spatters on the ground; and later, overnight, he sat up with the man and held him still as his agonized, bleeding body rid itself of what it had been forced to ingest.
One liked public sex, choosing at random another inmate to accompany the victim. The rest of them had to stand around in a wide circle and maintain absolute silence, hearing only the hoarse, bleating grunts from the center.
One was partial to violence, and breakage."
Never heard the biomass one though.

The Caldari? Besides having the most insufferably boring looking gear? I haven't really done too much research on them, but they at least seem to be mostly community minded people, despite being a splintered community. They're a little hot headed, but definitely have the right of things as far as the Cal-Gal war is concerned, not that I care too much about the politics of the Cal-Gal war.
Still don't really like them. They would be very productive slave stock though, and a good addition yo the empire eventually, even if it takes generations to breed the pride out of them. If they didn't make such good allies, im sure we would have started enslaving them by now.

I like how the caldari form relationships. Every 'citizen' is raised as a part of a corportation, their corporations educate them, train them, provide them housing, food and labor. It's a strict meritocracy where the hardest working and the brightest advance because they deserve to. Your corporation also keeps 'permanent' records of everything that you've done (it's not terribly hard to have bad stuff expunged depending on how severe it was), and psychological profiles.
Similar to how things function in corporate japan, your 'boss' might come up to you one day and go "I think it's about time for you to get married" and then either suggest you go to a corporate mixer, or you talk to your human resources department where they can use your history / psychological profiles to find a perfect match for you. Similarly to feudal japan though as well a great portion of these marriages can be done across corporate lines - so an ishukone corporation member could quite easily end up getting married to a kaalakiota member after a corporate mixer and it could serve to strengthen whatever alliances and ties there are between them.
It sounds crazy, but remember that every caldari person has a choice, even if they frequently choose not to exercise it. State first, Corporation second, Individual last, if you can advance yourself without harming the corporation or the state you do so, if you can advance your corporation without harming the state you do so.

I've recently started studying the lore of New Eden. So far I've only just started on the Amarr, and it would seem like they aren't quite as bad as I previously thought them to be.
I will remain neutral until I have read most of the Chronicles, and/or most of the EVElopedia pages that pertain to lore. Even still, I might remain neutral.

As much as I love the Minmatar, one of their worst sides is their Tribal natures.
It makes it hard for them to work with eachother, as they have always been struggling against one another for dominance. Old Matari had a caste and serf system. Or even their own tribal marking system (Read: Tattoos). Getting a "bad mark" could even exile you from the group.
They also trained ex-convicts to fight in their military, with surprising efficiency.
On the flip side, its also one of their greatest strengths. The tie between clan-mates runs deep and strong, and they feel a great need to protect eachother. The race as a whole has gone through hell, and all they've learned how to do is defend their friends and families, no matter the cost.

Its all about wording. Could I not say:
Matari: Tribal guerrilla fighters attempting to consolidate their standings among peers in a society that is heavily fragmented and unsure of its place in the universe. Fierce and emotional; these emotions give them the courage and determination to struggle to build themselves up.
Amarr: Firm followers of a faith that demands the uplifting and education for the benefit of all. Appearing ruthless when crossed they are actually compassionate and loyal to their fellow human - simply pragmatic about its application.
Gallente: Accepting of all ways of life. Live by the creed "You are free to do anything you want as long as it does not infringe upon the freedoms of others."
Caldari: Preferring efficiency above all else known for their dedication and hard work to achieve their individual and group goals.
and still be accurate? (There is no angel emoticon. There should be an angel emoticon! Moral parity!!!!!!!!!!!!)
