Have you read the improvements to revive bonuses and guardian bonuses around objectives? Logi WP production will be higher than ever, as if they weren't already topping the 7,000 WP mark alone.
* Nanite Injectors now grant differing War Points (WP) per successful revive: STD/ADV/PRO = 30WP/60WP/90WP.
* Added a Guardian War Point bonus, for every War Point earned within 50 meters from an Objective, an additional 25% War Points are granted.

Also, I predict more than a few easy kills while OB droppers are standing around, picking a good place to on the overhead map OB Because I would rather kill uplinks and equipment spammed on a roof every time the enemy team goes up there, (which is about as often as one can call in a militia dropship) than - fly a 300+ k ADS through a barage of swarm and forge fire to kill about 5k worth of equipment, or - attack equippment with said ADS to find out its been glitched into the wall/floor - Try to snipe heavies standing on triage hives from the redline, or - tossing flux grenades at the rooftop just to watch them bounce off the sides and fall backwards, or - head back to the redline, call in a regular dropship to storm the roof only to get blown to bits by the redline tank or the rooftop AV in question, or - let them shoot me the entire match from the roof/keep jumping off of the same place until my squad gets enough WP to get a major orbital we might not need anymore.... Why should i just let the enemy team camp on the rooftop (getting WP, kills, and triage points, and a tactically advantagous place to attack the objecive) because i migt get 4-5 kills with a OB later on? Kill the equipment + stranded clones remaining, secure the objective, and i won't need to try to orbital the roof or orbital the MCC.
The above scenario assumes nobody will change tactics, and continue the rooftop spam as usual.
The rooftop camping tactic as you describe will no longer be viable with the new OBs and equipment bandwidth , so "no one" in their right mind will attempt it (there are exceptions, of course...). I DO think there will be a initial period of small OB spam until everybody adjust their strategies, then it will die off and be replaced with big ones again.
I think it will take weeks (months?) before the old strategies die down, and new one emerges. We just have to wait and see how it pans out. |

So, what game do you play? We play DUST 514, and kind of know when something will be a clusterf*ck before it happens... but it's not like we've been right about this every time since FOREVER

We already get rekt by all these glorious alpha damage weapons within the timespan of 1-3 seconds, its just one more nail in the shield tanking coffin. I promised myself I wouldn't cry when 1.10 dropped
Lol. "1-3 seconds" EVERY suit dies in 1-3 seconds. Brick tanked heavies die in 3 seconds to anything but a standard sidearm. Complaining about dying in less than 3 seconds is a ******* ******** thing to do.
On average, an armor suit will take Gàô a second more DPS than a shield suit. My brickiest(not my best one) Amarr Assault will live about 2.4 seconds under fire from any of the rifles, and my best Minmatar Assault will live about 1.8 seconds under the same fire. This is Min vs Am here too, so this is the widest HP disparity, and that only ends up being .6 seconds when I use a brick shitfit Am suit.
I'm getting a little sick of all the whining coming from the shield users. I've used shield suits, and they are just as good as any armor suit, overall. Your goddamn Caldari suits are fine, and if you can't make them work, its because you suck.
Please, make my Opus pretty...

That is actually a good point ^ I wonder if they have improved the "user friendliness" of the OB mechanics?
Like: - Clearly indicating on HUD that a OB is available, and what type. - Clearly marking the "used" WP, or have a separate (available) WP pool which is reduced every time you drop an OB.
Right now it's very easy to miss you have an OB, forcing you to constantly check the meny. With only one OB type it is fairly easy to judge how much you needed for the next strike, but with multiple WP requirements it will be a lot of head calculations (which I suck at), and menu checking...
The first point is also important for Faction Warfare, which is not WP based. Its very annoying to capture the district satellite (in EVE), waiting to drop an OB for an entire match (which never happens), just because the nobody bothered to look up or check if orbital support is available. |

Also, I predict more than a few easy kills while OB droppers are standing around, picking a good place to on the overhead map OB Because with new bandwidth on deployed equipment and mini fluxes knocking out everything else the pace of play is going to be slowed down. Less spawn points close to battle means less actual fighting which leads to even less of a chance for the larger OB. Even with how things are currently you rarely see an orbital from anyone until after the match is about 80% over with. There are too many things being introduced here that seriously impact pace of play. Whether its more people in logi suits to keep their stuff alive or less ability to spawn things are going to shift, likely in a bad way since these kind of mechanics really should not exist with only a match size of 16 v 16. These are the kind of things that we should be talking about if we had 30+ players per side. Oh yeah because there is a playerbase for 30vs30

Depends on how you look at it. It could also be a buff for shield suits depending on situation. The second that orbital comes in everyone will dive for cover on the off chance they can block it with some topography and or reflex. But regardless, Your armor suit has a depleted regen delay of like what, 6 seconds? Your Cal suit has a depleted regen of what, less than 1 second? Cals get behind cover for 4-5 seconds and they are all healed up. Armor suits haven't even started regening and will be taking armor damage from da bulletz! |

We won't see less roof camping... at least not because of the flux ob's...
You just need to leave some uplinks on the suit, deploy after strike or when necessary... done.
How much warpoints for the smaller non flux strike btw?
Dedicated Minmando Masshole with love for Swarmholing... Not playing logi that much anymore... which is a shame...

That is a problem with the PS3, not the game. Throw an SSD in and watch how fast it is.

I agree.
I DEMAND for a Strike that hits ONLY ARMOR, (leaving it at 0 {or 0.1}) while leaving the shields intact.
You know, for a change...
Amarr FW blue dots suck. If you suck :please go and bother Minmatar or Gallente. You'll even win some matches there.
