What becomes the point in Ferroscale plates if you nerf strafe speed into the ground though? I can easily put two complex plates on a min assault, two complex kincats, and still have a good bit of speed. There are times when jumping from cover to cover just doesn't work, and when half your slots are devoted to kincats and you get caught of guard, the only hope you have is to strafe generally (At least currently with aim assist) There's just not enough HP in the pool to react, turn towards the target, and out shoot them. There's a reason currently to keep those plates off the suits or use ferroscale, nerf strafe speed too far and you destroy the reason to use those things.
Though again, getting rid of aim assist would make a nerf to strafe speed easily bearable, but I still feel as if it would damage someone's reasons to use modules that don't slow down the suits movement speed.
To me strafe is speed and aim assist should be both toned down, add to armour plates a profile penalty to keep ferros interesting, about strafing being the only way to survive when caught unguard to turn around and shoot the guy, I think that is the main problem with strafe speed. You made a mistake or your enemy outsmarted you YOU SHOULD DIE. Only heavies should be able to have a chance of winning the engagement when attacked from behind. When you're surprised, take cover or die, that's what it should be and not circle around the same point so that your enemy has to reload before killing you. |

All the good players are migrating from scouts over to it now.
Thats why. We have higher HP now, and equal strafe speed.
Prepare your anus, because we will penetrate it.

I don't really consider getting ambushed by a cloaked shotgun scout while dealing with someone else as being outsmarted, and given the lack of cover on so many of the maps in Dust, that can be difficult. A tanked up assault, logi, or heavy can start getting shot and casually turn towards the target, giving zero ***** before unloading, and unless the other target is a really good shot or in a similar suit, they're likely going to die. I'm fine with that, you chose your targets wisely, never engage someone that clearly outmatches you, but the idea that only these types of suits should have a chance at surviving an ambush irks me. No matter what suit you use, you can't work around all possible angles. There's always that sniper on the hill or scout waiting around the next corner that you have no real way to prepare for. If you're giving up the majority of your health in order to remain nimble, your wiggle room comes not from your massive HP reserves, but on your ability to react at the second your shields start getting pinged and either find cover, or start strafing and engage, hoping your aim is better than your opponent's. Giving one type of fitting the ability to have that chance to react and fight back discourages other types of gameplay.

So you are saying the Min Assault suffers from the same issues as the scout? Which would be any fast suit being subject to getting shot but not taking damage?
Well, it is a fast suit so that goes without saying. But it doesn't need a fix especially for itself. Whatever CCP eventually figures out that fixes hit detection for scouts will probably affect all suits. |

How about we try to fix it before it takes over the game?
It's not the suit.
