i dont care about K/D i care about fun.

1 vs 16 can be fun but most oftin isnt.

i dont actually know what my K/D is.

i dont really thrive in 1v1 or 1v12 scenarios, i thrive when i can use teamates to my advantage (or leverage my ability to make my teamates more effective)

stomps kinda remove my team from the equation and therefor remove the fun as well. i just end up stuck in a harassment role pullinng 3-4 members of the enemy team out of position over and over again to deal with me, creatinng massive openings that never get capitolised on becuase my team is gone.

checkmates kinda average from my level of the playing field, he leverages gear to much and doesnt have the disposition for the solo work he seems to do alot of.

to compair, your fighting a 1v1, im playing chess with every member of my team, and im rarely the king or queen in that equation. stomps reduce me to a single pawn vs an entire full bored against me, and sure i can mess around and remove some pieces from play but ide much rather play with a full board.

Ive lived with it all becuasse i could see the progress the game was making and believed it would make progress. i just cant appoch the game with that mindset anymore. all progress has halted and nearly everything is set in stone. Its really difficult to get behind the game now and i can only ever play a few matches before i give up for the day. Not to mention the MU matchmaking seems to think im a god and places me against a que sinqed team with all militia teamates, wich isnt all bad as its an excuse to don a militia suit and laugh as the "bring PC crap into pub matches" crowd gets harrassed by a guy in militia gear endlessly but it really does get old. Eventually all games online die whether you believe it or not. This game will go on as long as it is profitable for CCP. Once it becomes not profitable, it will die. Either that, or the developer finds a new project to focus on and either kills it or just stops supporting it. Either way, it becomes a ghost town like all games eventually.

I know exactly what you mean. I have an average gun game that makes me rage when I'm running solo against a stomp. But when my team is pushing I can make a real difference. I excell in strategy, predicting enemy movement and flanking and all around harassment that makes room for my team to take the point. But I NEED a TEAM to work with. Well, Firaxis has a patch in the works that should be out before mid-December. It is pretty massive; announcement linky. I'm enjoying it even without the balancing patch. I've noticed that if you dig deeply into the Skill Tree's "leafs" the game slows down at times. I go on a branching spree early game and prioritize science buildings first while picking up everything in the Knowledge virtue I can. So far, it's been a winning strategy for me. The Might virtue is pretty OP at the moment; especially that one ability that gives you science for every alien you kill. It's insane. Civ V will always have a special place in my heart. I am a diehard England player and I love playing multiplayer with three RL friends of mine. But Civ: BE is futuristic and I eat that theme up (e.g. Dust 514). I could see Civ: BE replacing Civ V for me if Firaxis devotes some patches to it and maybe an expansion or three.
