How about this restore the cloak to what it was and replace the timer with a 90-95% damage debuff and give the cloak 100% tacnet ping. This way you don't get to linger you either strike or you hide not both because if you enter someones tac range or if you strike to early you completely expose yourself. If they want use the cloak and live they need range amps and damps and would be better off striking uncloaked if there is more than one target. This really doesn't fix the problem though scouts really need to be side arm only, but I will play along for ***** and giggles.

Which problem?

I see no reason why we shouldn't discuss nerf ideas collectively ...
* Enforce scout squishiness * Restrict scout weapons * Remove scout 2nd EQ * Reduce scout slot count * Nerf cloak (obviously) * Increase scout scan profile * Limit scout combat functions * Limit scout non-combat functions
If we made it our practice to enumerate and consolidate ideas in these discussions, we'd be better able to prioritize new nerf ideas as made available in GD. How else will we know which ideas (and in what order) to present to Rattati to help him balance the game. |

Your OP states:
Goal: to make scouts prefer EWAR over health
I already do. But assault light is the problem. Reduce scout EWAR effectiveness when they add HP - keep the sandbox.
Most of your pointers there I can't even begin to understand how they would help this. Some of them break the sandbox. I can guarantee you if some of those things happen, I won't be playing scout.
I can't really contribute more to this thread - seems you're trying to fix things outside of the OP now, without defining the problem(s).
I really think increasing profile et al when adding plates and / or shields is the way to go next. Then you must wait and see what happens. Scout *must* be able to be stealthy, and must be able to wield light weapons and side-arms. IMO of course.

An excellent point.
Another way to look at the Scout HP Problem might be from the standpoint of comparative utility. In a game where HP Modules afford greater benefit than other modules, why would we expect a class to prefer anything else? |

Alternatively, we could try nerfing Scouts into the ground. But that probably won't make them use EWAR; it will probably make them use MedFrames. Which is precisely what we saw from Uprising 1.0 through 1.7.
Well, wow. What an excellent point about scouts from 1.0-1.8. Subsequently, since scouts all ran Medium frames until 1.8 that means that all input from any member of The Barbershop regarding balancing scouts post 1.8 relative to the rest of field, EWAR, HP, assault or support roles can be utterly ignored since, from your statement, none of them were in scout frames to begin with . Good to know, Thank You for clarifying that.
