Anyway. I'm sure we've all noticed that when you take a month off of dust you come back and are pretty much a total ret4rd for a few battles. This time is different though.
I went 1/9 last night on the winning team, and it wasn't like a meat grinder game where both team almost clone each other out and I got 3000 WP Logi-Ing the crap out of everyone but just happened to get caught in the crossfire several times, I got maybe 700 WP at best and was a total liability in every way. That hasn't happened since, like, early 2013 or,something,
Conclusion: I've totaly lost all situational awareness from playing too much PvE. Any scrub with a scout suit just waltzes right up and blindsides me. Every time, it's almost like i forgot they existed or something.
Anyone have a similar experience?

The "awfulness" of the blueberries has increased exponentially since the last time I played often, which was somewhere between four to six months ago. Coming from Destiny (though I had stopped it before coming here and did other games), the god awful framerate, the extreme lag, the even worse team mates (compared to Destiny), the lack of actual balancing of things that have been ISSUES SINCE THEIR RELEASE, makes Dust 514 more mediocre than Destiny game-wise. The difference between Destiny and Dust is Dust actually has content and has somewhere to go. Destiny ****** itself.
But, tracking back to the actual question, no. Once you've played one FPS, you've quite literally played them all. I played back when Quake, Unreal Tournament, and Counter-Strike were on the rage and all that jazz. All I've seen over the years are people getting worse as the games get worse. Even with losing my ability to see more and more colors as time go by, no, awareness is something I don't forget well. Always be alert, always be ready.

1. Destiny don't make you worse ;). At Dust scouts do more now then ealier ;) 2. Only difference for me... is when I start play Destiny and after that I start Dust - there is different level of sensitivity sets at Dust. And it is noticable huge. It is like someting Destiny do to 'hardware' sets at pad. Oh.. And I miss-use triangle button ;)

Been out for about six months, my aiming and timing in CQC is off quite a bit. Actually it's sporadic; I keep having fits of panic in the heat of battle, and then other times I'm steady as a rock, like I never left. Didn't seem to effect my ranged combat skills at all though, but I had more pride in my CQC game. I think my first game back was 11/3, but I've had a couple of real crap games though too, were my CQC game just seemed to fall apart for no reason. Haven't broke twenty yet, but its only been three days, and I'm playing completely solo now - lost my corp. need to get back into organized squad play.

Just remember there are no super abilities in dust or most other FPS. I do not necessarily think Destiny made you suck at dust. I think you are forgetting its an entirely different game and you have to remember to adapt to each game.
Case in point, when I quit Dust and went back to BF4 on the PS4, my first few games were awful. I kept forgetting the controls were different and I also forgot that I did not have any shields or armor to just go toe to toe with folks and eat bullets.
Just remember your Dust jedi training and block out the rest and eventually you should be fine. |

I did fairly well running from Destiny back to Dust.
Once I got my controls squared away, I was pretty set to go.
Took me awhile to remember I couldn't slide or super jump anymore though. . . ..

You know, I think you may be on to something there. My non-logi-related groundgame has also never been great, but the first night back, in full mixed squads with heavy/medium suits around, I did reasonably well. I mean, I wasn't putting up 2000WP, but who needs a logi when you are roflstomping those misguided matari rebels all night?
Night #2, in a smaller squad... not so much. I'm starting to think that perhaps a squad consisting of myself, an HAV pilot, and a minja is maybe not the optimal grouping for an Amarr logi.
Just a theory, of course, but musturd sure as hell doesn't need any help (knives don't require any ammo, lol), and you're off hunting tanks... I'm sorta left dealing with blueberries who do things like spin in little circles while I try to hack points.
Sounds good to me. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
(Edit: And 100% agree to those who mentioned AA and hit detection from Destiny, Makes me laugh even more about the people who complain about the AA in Dust, it's barely noticeable in comparison)

Yea I know the feeling. I became terrible as well. Usually I would get 1st every pub match but now it is all random. It is like I forgot how to aim. My reflexes are very sluggish and I am catching myself making alot of mistakes. I would actually need to no-life this game for quite a bit to fine tune myself to where I was before.
