quick question, how much would officer gear sell for? i hoarded a lot for player trading and considering this is our next best option i would like to know.
i have an idea that if it would sell for a tiny bit of aurum nobody could ever say dust was ptw.

Dangit CCP.
My PS3 broke down(OS crash, irrecoverable Restore loop, preceded by crashing on Crunchyroll) JUST a few weeks ago, and i thought: "Great, now i don't have to play DUST for a while, and can work on saving money for my car"
Now i'm stuck with a delimma. Upgrade my PC and start up with mayhaps starting a Youtube channel of some sort, or buy another new PS3 for DUST, making me wait on a new car, PC upgrades, or even paying my friend back for the FIRST good PC i had a few months ago.
On that note, EGADS this is a beautiful update.
Sprint bug, terrible framerates and in general my lack of friends willing to play it were the few(huge) things that kept me from liking it, and now those should be done for in 1.9! Keep up the great work CCP!

Just adding my own quick thank you to CCP. You kept this pretty close to your chest, but it's a great gesture to the community of dust 514.
Imagine how different things would have been over the last few months if you had announced this at fanfest, and then introduced the idea of legion step by step, afterwards.
Also, please have minmatar precision rifle in 1.9.

This really caught me by surprise. I was cautiously optimistic about a 1.9, but I didn't expect it until Q1 2015. This at least sounds like it should be earlier than that. Much thanks and respect to CCP, and the CPM1 guys for getting us to this point.
I did have one thought though. With the NPC market, would it be possible to implement a booster buying/selling mechanism for ISK with other players the way Guild Wars 2 does it? In that game you don't directly buy/sell gold to each other, but the supply/demand is mediated through an NPC market to give a fluctuating price. If DUST could pull this off I think we'd see revenues go way up. It would also make a nice ISK sink for those who made bank from the PC ISK faucet days who could sell their excess ISK to poor players in exchange for boosters they paid real money for.
I've always thought buying/selling boosters would be the DUST equivalent of PLEX, and it sounds like this could be possible now.
Best PvE idea ever!

My issue is that this is an assumption no one from ccp has said it. Also small changes are nice for balancing which dust has required and small feature additions but I like the wow factor that a theme brings. You can achieve this in small updates but to do it in dust they would have to plan deployment carefully so as not to overdo the client updates.
Anyone getting annoyed by reading of the above post should consider the following.

I'd assume that he means PSN accounts which could mean alts not directly associated with mains are being counted as unique, but really, how could they know which account is an alt account and which isn't.
Edit: Also, I am now saying my mood is cautiously extatic. Contradictory? Yes, but that is the way it is.

You know what's also vague? "Over the last few months". When is that exactly? Like around June-July or August-September? Because per EVE-Offline the PCU numbers have been dropping recently.
But of course they focus on some other random number that doesn't really say anything about anything.

One thing I'm curious about; how did CCP make the Caldari production facility work on the PS3? When that socket was originally canned the devs seemed pretty adamant that they just could not get it working (memory issue?). Would be interesting to know how they solved the issue.
I would also like to know what kind of rendering optimisation are being done. How much work has gone into improving the engine?
