I really want a respect for skill points because so many changes have come out and I think that we should get a respec for all our skill points. |

I think we should start a petition for a respect because we deserve one and besides Dust 514 will be dead the instant Legion is out for reasons that are clear enough. |

Let me make myself clear. There is a difference between respec and respect (note the spelling).
RESPEC
Respec is the ability to re-specialize from one specialty to another. Basically rearranging or reallocating where the skill points are placed on a skill tree. Some games have this feature but others don't. CCP has and still is running Eve Online for 11 years non-stop and every player on Eve can vouch for me when I say that they never received a single respec from CCP despite the mountain of ship balancing changes -- some of which have effectively changed roles altogether -- that have occurred over the course of the last 11 years. Except for one respec that was handed out... on the first year (2003)... on the day of its release. That was considered the FINAL respec ever given. If CCP won't give them, paying customers who subscribe to Eve Online, then us Dust players who play for free have no chance in getting any further respecs and the last one was about 6 months ago when scout suits and heavy suits came out for the rest of the races. Dust has only been around for about a year and a half (release date: May 14, 2013).
Keep in mind that Eve players already have the tools to adapt to any ship balance changes in addition to all skill points being accrued passively 100%. No active SP gains exist in Eve Online compared to Dust which does have active SP gains in addition to passive. The gains in SP for Dust is not that hard especially if you throw in boosters. Even without the boosters, CCP occasionally hosts events that reward players with SP such as the Million Clone Challenge where we gain 1 million SP in 4 days (2 million if we meet the stretch goal) and that's before boosters are applied. Now we have the Sidearm Expert Challenge which rewards the average player with 1,000 SP for every kill made with any sidearm up to 750,000 SP which is quite a lot considering that you're also gaining passive and active SP at the same time along the way before boosters are applied. The bonus reward of naming an officer sidearm is only for those players like me who are willing to go above and beyond to prove who's the most badass for a given sidearm.
RESPECT
Respect for authority. Respecting your elders. Respect for those who you acknowledge to be better than you. This has nothing to do with re-specialization or reallocation of skill points.

I back you OP but it looks like no one else has the balls to admit that this is needed .
So sad that for a game that's on life support , people still want to act like the " fun police " and keep these bull$h!t policies enforced and as for a company CCP cares nothing about the fun factor .

Agreed Its time CCP gave in and gave the players what they want. For some reason CCP is extremely against it and I cant fathom why. Most that want a respec want it so that they can actually skill into one set of skills (like assault rifle) because they did what every noob does and put their skills all over the place. If anything I know a respec would help balance out the game a bit. Of course people will say "what about proto stomping that will just make it worse!" On the contrary, It will elleviate the proto stomping grip this game seems to have on everyone. Basically so many players that could be proto stomping but cant due to misplaced skills would be able to proto stomp as well making almost every match a stomp fest. Hence it would balance out the game play massively. And yet CCP for some reason refuses to give everyone that respec they so desire. So what if they all decide to do flavor of the month?! Those that dont do flavor of the month will be that much more powerful in game because believe me flavor of the months tend to get nerfed before everything else. So in closing, CCP get off your butts and give them a respec because its long over due and you have no real reason not to give them one.

The problem is that so many more changes are planned. if we do this for a hotfix now the requests for hotfixes will be back as soon as another hotfix or followup is deployed.

Boyo CCP dont givin' repsec easily, i basicaly start from sratch seven times (like one of orthodox purists here) just because changes to weaponary and suits.
On the other side, changes what we have now are pretty good ones, there is finally fun and balance in games.
I dont know if you was here before in ol' times, but that was hell of nonsence in balancing.
Right now its finally in good direction under rattati and his team

CCP won't give you a respec nor any respect. Right now, I'm playing on my 16 mil SP alt (this one), because my cousins screwed around with my SP and wasted it on useless stuff. Deal with it.

Indeed. People need to realize, hotfixes are not a one-and-done thing. The point is to continually evolve and improve game balance, and chase after the unattainable goal of a perfectly balanced shooter.
Also, IWS, you mean the requests for respecs. ;)
