Out of the 10 mcc matches I played, I lost 9. Only won the 10th match by pulling out my thale and camping the mcc roof. Seemed fitting for the occassion. Even though I lost the 9 matches, I got first place on most. Scotty has too much faith in my motivation . I have always been a solo player in every game I play. That will NEVER change. In the two years I've been playing dust, I've squaded twice. Im fast pace and people can't keep up.The thing that gets me the most, giving someone a ride, jump out to drop a link and they jack my ship. Then I waste half the match chasing it down just to crash into it. (Principal and I don't want an enemy making money off my loss). I'll be uploading a pic of my wallet tomorrow showing a horrible loss streak. I did check score boards at the end. Either I was matched with a team of noobs or boosting was going on. Same people too. 2/35, 1/25. Both in the 9th match. Sure proto stompers will say matchmaking is working. They like easy kills. Matchmaking needs to be based off total SP or KDR. Not what it is now. |

It seems as though the new formula takes win/loss and kill/death into account. You may have gotten some fraudulent k/d w/l having players on your team against some players with legit k/d and w/l ratios. Formula is new and it will even out eventually. Just guessing. May be wrong.

I haven't really played much since the new matchmaking but I haven't noticed a difference (good or bad) to be honest.

I had a recent Ambush match go down to 1 clone between the teams. Pretty certain I had not seen that in months prior to the balancing changes. I honestly don't think that balancing could be worse than the constant beat-downs that used to happen in Ambush. If you are doing worse now you may have gotten lucky and been on the Q-sync side more often than not.

You didn't win the 10th because you used a thales, you won because the other 15 people carried you

I feel you, the pains of going solo. Hijacking dropships won't happen if u run with a squad of friends or corpmates though. Same goes for most things in Dust. I love running solo too, but some matches are just much more easier to fight with a bunch of greenberries.
As for the new matchmaking I experienced more balanced matches where both sides push for the objective til the end (Domination) recently

I rarely play with squads myself and am a solo player majority of the time unless I play with a friend I know IRL or played with a long time and that's not going to happen anymore.... But I play solo because it is more fun to play solo in my opinion. I don't play for easy wins at all. that just bores me even more than playing solo. Also seeing as how the people play on dust now, it's just move to the next FOTM or try to destroy this or that because i'm a singular objective type player and not a versatile player but will call myself that any way to keep from being called a scrub.

Unless my squads are goofing around (which is 70% of the time) we usually stomp and get the occasional loss sometimes. Matchmaking doesn't exist when it comes to squads because we all know "Teamwork and Communication is OP". |

I've noticed a radical improvement in team balancing. I'm sure the process could use refinement/fine-tuning but it's been night/day for me. I'm looking forward to seeing if they can incorporate mu into the matchmaker. That way it's pitting better players against each other and worse players against each other. I don't mind a longer wait to have better matches.

So far when running solo since the change, every time my team has been stomped into the ground it has been because no one was placing Drop Uplinks.

Let's get on the same level:
- What do you understand under balanced battles? Does it just mean WP/kill distribution off the team or does it also include the use of uplinks/control time of objectives/...?
- What does "All data" include?
- Massively more? You're comparing something with almost no balanced games...ofcourse it's going to be (massively) more, but is it enough? |

That's because the current system doesn't include jack **** about what actually makes an actual balanced fun interesting battle. Now it's just the few players that carry the team, at least you had used to have a few matches were you could switch roles instead of doing the same thing in the hope of winning. |

You gave one of my alts a bunch of starter corps vs minimum 4 FA guys in an ambush.. I even sent you pics of the board.

Had a dom match on fracture road yesterday 2 squads on the enemy team and not a single squad on my team. Ended up getting the sh!t stomped out of us; enemy only lost 10-20 clones while they cloned us. I managed to hack the objective once at the start of the match but after that they almost redlined us (think it was intentional that they didn't).
Then had an ambush oms match that was about the same. So bad I just started suiciding so the match would end quicker.
Then had another dom... it actually went alright at first (was squaded up this time) but then we started getting major lag spikes. I'd start shooting at a guy then suddenly he's just calmly gliding in whichever direction not taking damage and boom I'd die. Seen Dengru in the match, watched him run away behind a corner 60+ meters away I turn to shoot at a guy shooting me same thing happens then suddenly Dengru kills me with a shotgun so I'm thinking the lag just made me think he ran behind a corner. It wasn't just me experiencing this cause my squad mate complained about lagging whenever they got close to enemies and apparently the rest of my team did as well because we went from having the objective locked down to getting our dicks kicked in, I was the only one to go positive and that was by 1 kill.

I think it's much better. Clone count is moreeven now and the match is decided by what team has better coordination which means more action for the 15~20 minute matches. |

Squads are much, MUCH more important. I've generally always played solo, but here lately I've had to join squads to have any real hope of winning a match. Stomps are much more rare, and are usually the result of one side having several members leave at the start of the battle.

That's what I have been seeing and hats off to you and the other devs. Playing this weekend was fun way more often then in the past.
The biggest problem for dom matches are people red zone sniping or just sitting in the red zone a minute or two into the match, but I've still played way more really fun matches this weekend then I used to.

I was in one stomp that looked like it had 2-3 stacked squads (full The Generals corp squad and 2 more half decent corps) versus miscellaneous. Didn't have my phone with me to take a photo.
But, in general the matches have been much better. At this point, I am willing to accept better.

So far, things are looking balanced. WPs are more evenly distributed and KDR is more even which means no more seeing 3-4 players hogging all the scores and carrying the rest of the team, battles are more even in terms of clone loss between the two sides, and redline situations have become nearly non-existent.

I actually saw some ambush OMS games that looked like they would be stomps turning into respectable loses or narrow wins and it was always because the losing team got their **** together.
In one, someone from my team placed a drop uplink in a perfect position (don't know the map names, but the one with the raised concrete and pipes going over a deep depression; the uplink was on the corner where there was an installation) and the clone count went from 60-30ish to 0-13. The other team was dominating us by constantly pushing onto the retreat DL.
Once a DL was put in that position very far from the enemy line (instead of in the next defensive position behind the current position like where I kept putting them), the opposing team kept doing that same push but now running up the corner to the installation and tanks separately up top against my SL, the installation, and a forge gunner. Killing the infantry running up the corner was like shooting fish in a barrel.
I came out of that match something along the lines of 20/13/5 and my gun game is meh at best and on bad days just plain bad. Just proved to me that even with good match making there will still be some lopsided matches because one team just fell apart or never got it together in the first place or half the team team decided to red line snipe or AFK in the MCC. |
