I just surfed on eve and dust forum and i found thingie, waht made me really wowed nad i mean wowed in negative and confused state. I though there will be some more of improvement after balancing stuff, but i fallin in to the abyss of really negativistic sadness. Just copy here (most intereing part just higlighted)>
DUST 514:
No client patches in the near future, only hot fixes, and only 3 DevGÇÖs fully dedicated to the DUST development. Sounds like the end of DUST doesnGÇÖt it? That is what we all thought when these announcements were made around Fan Fest.
Yet Hot Fixes Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie have done more for the game than all the content patches since official release! Many now agree that DUST is more fun now than it was during the Chromosome (Open Beta) build, which most considered to be the high point of the game up to this point.
So how did this lame duck suddenly grow wings? Well, in what was probably a last ditch attempt by CCP to salvage something from the burning wreckage of DUST development, and a desperate attempt to appease the DUST community after the botched Legion announcement, CCP made a decision which changed the Paradigm of DUST development. They promoted CCP Rattati, the most hard core Dust player in the Shanghai Office to oversee DUST development. Rattati was not even a Dev. He was just a guy from their finance department, although as we have learned, he does have some mad skills at manipulating numbers on spreadsheets.
Many of us knew Rettati already, as he often posted as a DUST player who just happened to have a Blue tag. He even asked for advice on fits and participated in balance discussions as just one of us. We knew he had no power to change anything, although we often did try to convince him to clandestinely post certain suggestions in the CCP lunch room to catch the DevGÇÖs attention. We respected him as a player, and knew that he understood the game from a playerGÇÖs perspective, so when it was announced that Rettati was being put in charge of DUST, we had high hopes. And, unlike so many high hopes we had had for DUST in the past which had been crushed in broken promises, this time the reality exceeded even our highest expectations.
Before each Hotfix Rettati and his trusty sidekick Logibro would post the changes that they thought needed to be made, complete with all the numbers, and they would open it to debate in topic specific threads, where experts from the Community could debate the effect of the changes and make alternate suggestions. He would also look for targeted feedback. If he was rebalancing Scout suits, he would wander into a dedicated Scout thread, toss out his proposals, and get feedback from some of the best Scouts in the game. Sometimes the numbers changed as many as 5 times before we came to a proposal that most of the community could agree on. Sometimes the community would convince him that his idea would not work and he would scrap it, and try something different.
Most of the changes have been to improve weapon, suit, and module balancing, which had always been a struggle in DUST, and the results achieved have made DUST more fun than it has ever been. Every suit in the game is seen on the battlefield now, and most of the weapons are viable, with more improvements coming in Delta very soon. We are already talking about what to do in Hot Fix Echo.

Im confused now, what was crushed in broken promises?! Is that mean there is no future or its stand for work still in progress?! Any info will be really apreciated, because after long negativistic time i put finally hope in dust (after improvements like balancing and hotfixes), but this seems like setback to me once more. Sadly im again confused like after EvEfest

What I want to know is.... will the higher ups divert more resources to dust now that we finally have a dev in charge that we like and respect? A dev who has been working hard to give us, the player base, what we really want.
Will things stay as a 3 man dev team or will we get more funding? more people? The game was going downhill for a long time and Ratatti changed all of that. Ratatti deserves the resources he needs to make this game a big success.
I would like your post if I could but CCP nerfed my like button and took it away. :(

I honestly think they have enough of resources from microtransactions, but im really scared how he talks about "promises to dust in past time". What really confuses me. I know i will not be here for Dust2.0/Legion, because i will not buying pc for port of dust. And im more in to> if they actually planing to support us till everything promised will he implementd or if this is just run for hotfixes only, what he supports and vehind he stands (what will be actually really important for me and my future like player here)?!

It's not a reflection of what's to come but of what happened in the past.
Back then CCP made too many promises thinking they have the skills to make Dust a great game complete with an economy, industry, PVE, sovereignty warfare, all racial vehicles, pilot and commander suits, etc. But corporation mismanagement caused a series of delays that resulted in many of those promises to never be realized in Dust but instead got reserved for Project Legion.
That is what was crushed in broken promises.
However this doesn't entirely mean Dust has no future. It's just that the future is small in the form of hotfixes. Surprisingly these recent hotfixes were so well thought out that players are slowly starting to come back. Unfortunately, according to the metrics posted on Eve-Offline.net, the number of players coming back doesn't seem to be much as many who left already vowed to never come back regardless of how far Dust improves. But still the future for Dust is small compared to the future for Legion because 1) Dust is on the PS3 which is already considered to be very close to the end of its market life cycle, 2) there are only a few devs working on Dust compared to the multitude of devs working on Legion, and 3) reviews given by professional game critics some time ago have already damaged Dust's image.

Nothing has changed since Fanfest.
From CCP's point of view, Dust is still dead (despite the hotfixes, I wouldn't expect any further development, or anything more than basic life-support, to milk it for all it's worth until it's lost enough players that it is no longer feasable to keep the servers up), and Legion has still not been officially (read: publicly) green-lit.
As far as content, what you've got now is all there will ever be for Dust. Any ideas to the contrary are just wishful thinking by people who either will not, or cannot accept the reality of the situation.
A few hotfixes doesn't change the fact that CCP all but abandoned Dust to focus on their next (potential) project.
Iknow this sounds negative, and many people here are still clinging to false-hope, but it is the reality of the situation, and the sooner people accept it, the easier it will be when the servers inevitably go offline.
It won't be today, or next week, or next month, bit it WILL happen.
It is inevitable.
Enjoy what you've got while it lastd, because Dust's days are numbered, and have been since Fanfest. |

You basicaly told no future. Hotfixes without future implementation seems like nonsence to me. Without future, why waste money on something what will not have support, it is sad but hnest logic. Even more sad i will e one of noDust2.0 boyos. And hell damage can be undone if they fix it ad implement everything what they and community wanted.

Some good games usually arise by only a small group of devs.. maybe because since its a small group communication and work is more efficient than dealing with 20 people? could this be the same phenomenon? because seriously look at all the things he has done. We even have gotten spread sheets and been asked for feedback, something that rarely even happened in the past. If Rattati works for legion i might feel like buying a PC even more because i really been wanting to play PC and see what they are all about. I am still getting a PS4 because of tradition and friends. |

To add to my previous post:
As for Ratti, not to trivialize his contributions to this game and it's community, because he's the best thing to happen to it since... well... since beta, really, but I doubt he and the other two are anything more than caretakers, left behind to watch over things, with instructions to turn out the lights and lock up after the last of the players have moved on.
Too bad, too. Things might have turned out differently if he was around at the beginning. |

This is actually a very good point.
When DUST had a much larger team working on it we couldn't even always get dev blogs or even simple things like stats and graphs for things.
Right now we have just a few DEVs doing a few things and we are seeing SO much more from so much less. What does that tell you?
To me that says - what the hell was going on in the past that a handful of dudes now can do so much more visually to the playerbase than an entire team did before.
I think we all respect what Ratatti and the others are doing right now.

You guys are silly of course there are less people on this portion of the game because this portion is nearly finished apart from balance. I am sure the rest of the team is developing econ, new maps, Pve Conception, and proper eve interaction, space station design central hub/guild, and Space ship design since we will be able to board ships supposedly. |

Will things stay as a 3 man dev team or will we get more funding? more people? The game was going downhill for a long time and Ratatti changed all of that. Ratatti deserves the resources he needs to make this game a big success. Why would they change? They moved the team before fan fest. They reduced the crew to below skeleton status and the daily player count is close to what it was, according to eve-offline.net anyway.
If the AUR flow continues then why would they change anything?
To see the cash improve enough to add developers back I think would be reflected in a significant increase of players, which has not happened even with the good (mostly) work from CCP Rattiti.
Upper management believes Dust514 is not a good game. They have put the resources into Project Legion to see if the team can come up with a prototype that they believe their customers will want on the PC.
This is it, Mercs. This is how it has been since fan fest and CCP Rattiti joining in. Why all the upset now?

Lol they are fixing what they have lol and re-branding to shake off the well... Dust... from the balance mishaps they have had. That way they can make some good money off that good promo trigger effect it is the reason these kids bought into cod, destiny, eso, assasins creed, and countless other games even though they are mediocre at best. That is where Project L will be a front runner no matter what games are out because it is a quality game and buy the time it is ready the balance issues will be taken care of. Pvers will have something to bite into making it a complete mmo with a broad player base because not everyone wants to be farmed constantly for their upgrades. |

Dust514 will continue as long as the AUR is being purchased in sufficient quantities to pay for the remaining three developers.
The game, btw still is significantly less fun and less of an game than Chromosome. Give me back TacNet, decent draw distances and long range warfare. Losing the grass and other processor/memory intensive graphics would be fine. They aren't good enough to compare to a modern game anyway so don't bother. IMO.

All of those features we were promised for Dust is no longer coming to Dust. They're coming to Project Legion instead. Here are some links. Read up when you have the time. Cheers.

And what is answer, should we be a gloomy about future of dust or not?! One word can be a fix for everything. The forums have proven over and over again my words hold little value. Would it matter if I gave the truth? Seems not, community constantly disregards; they can't handle it. also those DDoS attacks need to stop they're wrecking all of the other games I play.
Boyo im part of community and if you tell truth without anything around i will trust you and hell i will be even gratefull. What bugs me a buged me before was how you was untransparent, just walking around. If you have something even just yes/no that will be enought.

Will things stay as a 3 man dev team or will we get more funding? more people? The game was going downhill for a long time and Ratatti changed all of that. Ratatti deserves the resources he needs to make this game a big success. As much as I'd like to hope, I don't think the team situation will change for a long time, if ever. |

I know it's going to be a better game, but I don't want to hear about it I want someone to acknowledge me even though the answer has been given over and over again mommy. Now I may be trolling a little, but it doesn't mean I am wrong. You're right I never should have fed this post. |
