My death-kill ratio is pretty darned small on the toon I frequently use.
On the other hand, my WP amount is relatively average (over 3 mil). I understand that death and kill stats don't really matter, but 1.52 is so little.
Where do you guys measure in? Are you happy with your numbers or could you not care less? |

As you said, KD/R doesn't really matter, what matters is your satisfaction with the numbers. I'd say look at other games you've played in the past, other shooters, and compare your KD/R on those games. Is it better on Dust? Is it improving? What's your weekly KD/R? Getting your KD/R past those early "n00b" days is difficult, but doable. In other words, try not looking at it as a sign of how good you are compared to other players, but how much you're improving... unless you're a logi of course, then KD/R truly doesn't mean a thing.

I haven't gotten on since then. Lol actually the reason I haven't been back on was I wanted to catch up on game of thrones. Yes I remember your kill and knowing me I probably raged.

KD means NOTHING only War Points..
when i Logi HARD i can get 0 kills a dozen assists and be top of the board on WPs of both teams

But then you have slayers, where wp's don't mean a thing. As an assault player why the hell would I care about WP? I was created to kill not farm WP.

WP's mean just as much as K/D. Which is why I throw out uplinks and hives before I go killing. Seriously though the stats in this game only mean what any given person thinks they mean; beyond that they're not much of a measurement cause they can all be boosted. Hell, hop in a tank with a defend order on it & 2 other guys and you'll rack up kills and a ton of WP's. Especially if the enemy is grouped up and the squad lead jumps in right after dropping an OB on them.

KDR and WP/death and win % are all good stats to judge players, but I know some very good players with low KDRs, and some not so good players with high KDRs. Said a bit differently, I'd rather have a guy who goes 1-5 and never loses the point he's defending rather than someone that goes 15-1 and loses their defense point.
Personally, I have a very pedestrian KDR of about 1.9. I could make up all kinds of excuses to justify it, but people who play with me know the truth of my skills/value on the battlefield. |

Clearly a hacker if you're top on both teams.
Also my KDs 6.40 but my weeklys usually about 8-10 (used to do alot of PC)

back on topic tho, K/D is an ok'ish way to measure your own improvement as far as gun game is concerned but other than that doesn't mean too much, WP/D would be far more useful indicator.
oh and I think I hover around 1.8

My early K/D was like .10 haha Now it's like .69 or .70 overall. My monthly K/D I'm not too sure. I have to check it out.

I think it depends on your role. Some roles have innately higher KDRs, like tankers and snipers, while others have much lower.
I used to run a sniper fit when I first started in open beta, and though I can't remember exactly how how it was, it was definitely over 1.
About a year ago, I transitioned into more of a knifer/hacker role, and my KDR plunged incredibly low to maybe 0.6 or 0.5 even, because at the time running Minja was a death sentence and knife hit detection was horrid.
Since my skills have improved, I am up to around 0.82 with weekly and monthly KDR around 1.5 to 2.
I am happy with it so long as I am helping my team win. Even those matches where I get obliterated but make a difference with hacking CRUs and objectives.

For me...NOT A SLAYER...I could care less about KDR. Like a Logi, being a true Proto AV means you stand like an idiot in front of tanks to draw them away from infantry, you also suppress drop ships to keep them away. So 9 times out of 10 a tanker or pilot will jump out before the final blow. No kill, but total satisfaction for doing my job. While everyone is worrying about their KDR, and discussing it, I am out hunting big red moving objects.
