What i know, like many of us i will be that time lost in time like a tear in rain.
All our ideas all money just for something what majority here propably dont touch in future.
Its basicaly really sadn story.
I will be praying for aother MAG on ps3 or ps4.
But what i know i will never buy pc for legion.
This is just sad, i thing time of massive playing died with MAG.
Yup good ol' times.

I dont have problem with pc gaming (hell i playing PL2 and some others too), but i feel bad for all that thingies what they told and dont deliver and BOOM, now that thingies even with our ideas will be in some Pc port?!
Like c'mon boyo, you know thats not right.
But hell oki, damage already taken, i just pray for one thing.
They would fix dust and implement rest, what was shown and promised.
I i will be fine and i thing like most of vets from beta times.

Console Gamers to be the Minority... I Have been Playing MP since late 90s. and I know a lot of MP Players and Groups all around the World... Except of games likes DOTA most of the Player groups i know Switched to Consoles... It's not about the Money, it's about convenience...

I can't reason with you so I'll just say this: every year consoles are trying, desperately, to become more like PCs. Think about why that is. Do a little digging; be open to the idea that consoles are an antiquated technology and embrace your place in the Master Race.

We gave CCP ideas and they went to the platform where those ideas were actually possible. They are trying to give us what we want. What we want won't happen on a console. It could happen on a PC, so that's where they are moving development.

It might be possible, but it will be a pain in the ass to code. The PS3's software is notoriously hard to code for. Why spend 1,000 labor hours to update a game that will be passable on PS3, when you could spend the same amount of time making an AMAZING PC game with much more to offer a player?

I don't care much for Legion since my pc is not meant for gaming (can barely run Minecraft).
I would like to see the Dust Dream fulfilled in some sort of way, though. You know, market, PvE, etc...
I'd love to try it if it's available for me, though. I just dislike subscription type games. It's what turns me off from EvE. |

I know right...
I have always owned Great PCs and Did a lot of tourneys.... Don't have to teach me about being part of the Master Race :)
Consoles are Just fun... Laying down in your Couch chilling, smoking and drinking and shooting stuff at the same time... |

It is, actually. It's called Return on Investment. When it makes more business-sense to put time into the easier platform to develop for, you do it. Sure, they COULD develop for PS3. It's possible, but not the smart decision.

They aren't abandoning everything. CCP is just shifting platforms. It's not like all the SP and ISK we've cached here is going to just vanish when Legion hits... you make it sound like our characters are going to be deleted... don't sensationalize this. It's a business making a decision to move to a platform they are far more familiar with.

They are I guess not upto the challenge as FPS Developers... They Came to Compete in the Console World... They showed promise, we supported them, then they gave up... Logibro and Rattati have done some great PR work and Damage control after Fanfest nightmare by the French guy... But there's only so much damage control they can do.. I can understand your point, it makes sense from a business point of view to pack up shop and change platform and keep making money by these random meaningless SP events and Booster Sales... Destiny sold 500mil + in 24 hours... So i'm guessing Console market is the worst place to invest huh ?! |

Destiny was made by a AAA developer that already has a huge name in gaming because of the Halo franchise. Plus, Bundie did not released it for PC on launch. This forced many PC gamers to buy the console version when they would MUCH rather have the PC version. I'd be very interested to see the sales numbers if they had released it for PC as well as consoles on launch day.
They also did an amazing job on Destiny. It is the exception to the rule. PC generates a better rate of return for companies than consoles do. Here is a short gamespot article on it.

Yup good ol' times. I feel some sympathy for the console purists our there, but the fact is they are a minority of gamers nowadays. It's my sincerest hope that Legion is launched successfully on PC then, sometime later, CCP develops Legion for PS4. By the time they reach that point console gaming may be on it's deathbed so who knows. Also, Legion will most likely be F2P on PC so you won't have to "buy it" at all.

The Farmville cow-clicker style games are a percentage of PC gamers. A more accurate, and larger, percentage would PC gamers who play MOBAs like League of Legends, Civilization V, Team Fortress 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Arma 3, MMORPG's like Wildstar or Eve Online.
If we're nit-picking I could say a percentage of console players are made of up Cory in the House fans... but I don't because that's a poor representation of the audience.

Advanced programming knowledge is something I don't have, but many companies have said that developing for the PS3 is not a good time. Hell, SONY even admitted it! Look not further than the bub lists for games on PS3 vs. PC; the PC versions almost always have fewer bugs. Skyrim, for example, can't even properly utilize the autosave function on PS3. Bethesda has basically given up on trying to fix it on the PS3 because it's such a massive pain in the ass.

the article about the so called "analysis" you posted specifically is extremely biased. why? because it takes all PC only games + crossplattform games as base for the analysis. first of all, there are far less console titles than PC titles but the analysis uses absolute numbers instead of relative/proportional values. second, there is also an overlap because most console gamers are also playing on a PC.
beside that, David Cole, the guy that claims all the stuff without any proof has zero credibility and is as usual totally wrong. he's an economist, he makes "educated" guesses on how a market will perform. he's basically looking at the past year of the MOBA fad and predicting it will continue to grow at the same rate for the next 2 years. the world doesnt work that way, and before you claim he knows what he's talking about, go read some of his older reports that were completely wrong in their predictions.
and now on the other hand take the sales of crossplatform games only....
