They aren't abandoning everything. CCP is just shifting platforms. It's not like all the SP and ISK we've cached here is going to just vanish when Legion hits... you make it sound like our characters are going to be deleted... don't sensationalize this. It's a business making a decision to move to a platform they are far more familiar with.

I will admit, they were pretty silly to dip their toes in the console market. It's not a good move for a company who has developed 100% of their games for PC. They should have stayed in their home field. We could all be playing Legion 2.2 or 2.3 by now, if they had just stuck with PC.

Logibro and Rattati have done an amazing job. I really hope they stay onboard for Legion. They will be major assets to the team.


Destiny was made by a AAA developer that already has a huge name in gaming because of the Halo franchise. Plus, Bundie did not released it for PC on launch. This forced many PC gamers to buy the console version when they would MUCH rather have the PC version. I'd be very interested to see the sales numbers if they had released it for PC as well as consoles on launch day.

They also did an amazing job on Destiny. It is the exception to the rule. PC generates a better rate of return for companies than consoles do. Here is a short gamespot article on it.

I feel some sympathy for the console purists our there, but the fact is they are a minority of gamers nowadays. It's my sincerest hope that Legion is launched successfully on PC then, sometime later, CCP develops Legion for PS4. By the time they reach that point console gaming may be on it's deathbed so who knows.

Also, Legion will most likely be F2P on PC so you won't have to "buy it" at all.

So are you counting all the people who **** around with Facebook games are part of your "master race" since those are technically PC gamers

All our ideas all money just for something what majority here propably dont touch in future.
Its basicaly really sadn story.
I will be praying for aother MAG on ps3 or ps4.
But what i know i will never buy pc for legion.

The PS3's software is notoriously hard to code for.

We gave CCP ideas and they went to the platform where those ideas were actually possible. They are trying to give us what we want. What we want won't happen on a console. It could happen on a PC, so that's where they are moving development.

The Farmville cow-clicker style games are a percentage of PC gamers. A more accurate, and larger, percentage would PC gamers who play MOBAs like League of Legends, Civilization V, Team Fortress 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Arma 3, MMORPG's like Wildstar or Eve Online.

If we're nit-picking I could say a percentage of console players are made of up Cory in the House fans... but I don't because that's a poor representation of the audience.

I can't reason with you so I'll just say this: every year consoles are trying, desperately, to become more like PCs. Think about why that is. Do a little digging; be open to the idea that consoles are an antiquated technology and embrace your place in the Master Race.

Consoles have always been the Leapfrog tablet of the gaming world for kids. That is the only reason they will stay around. Computer gaming is for the big boys. I'm sorry that some adults can't realize that.

ps3 is more than capable of doing what dust should have been. issue was the CCP shanghai teams infancy in development from the beginning. if you think that will change when legion goes live in 2 years then you must be really living in a dreamworld. dust could have run on a toaster with all the features it should have if you wanted to but this can be only understood by someone that actually has advanced programming knowledge which you obviously do not have.

Advanced programming knowledge is something I don't have, but many companies have said that developing for the PS3 is not a good time. Hell, SONY even admitted it! Look no further than the bug lists for games on PS3 vs. PC; the PC versions almost always have fewer bugs. Skyrim, for example, can't even properly utilize the autosave function on PS3. Bethesda has basically given up on trying to fix it on the PS3 because it's such a massive pain in the ass.

The article about the so called "analysis" you posted specifically is extremely biased. why? because it takes all PC only games + crossplattform games as base for the analysis. First of all, there are far less console titles than PC titles but the analysis uses absolute numbers instead of relative/proportional values. second, there is also an overlap because most console gamers are also playing on a PC.

Beside that, David Cole, the guy that claims all the stuff without any proof has zero credibility and is as usual totally wrong.

He's an economist, he makes "educated" guesses on how a market will perform.

He's basically looking at the past year of the MOBA fad and predicting it will continue to grow at the same rate for the next 2 years.

The world doesn't work that way, and before you claim he knows what he's talking about, go read some of his older reports that were completely wrong in their predictions.
