Context: We cue synced into FW with the goal of not letting anyone hack a point. Its hard, fun, and forces us to work together as a team. One blueberry, busteonthabeatho 13XXMERICA, got in with us so I posted a message to him while we were in the warbarge saying not to hack any point.
He proceeded to try and hack several points so we team killed him, and so he wouldn't loose a suit I picked him up again. I watched him for a second and he choose to shoot me so I killed him and picked him up again hoping he would get the message that this wouldn't work. Repeat three times. He proceeded to hack and get team killed at other points with similar results.
Post battle here is the email thread that ensued:

I understand where he's coming from; I'd be ****** too if I waited ages for a FW contract, only to be essentially told not to play. All he wanted was to fight for his faction, and was team-killed him for it. In my opinion, he's completely justified in being angry.

I concur, it isn't really your place to tell other people how to play or enjoy any game free or not. It takes entirely too long to get into FW for someone to railroad you into whatever random idea they thought was cool in corp chat. If you want to not hack any points, or just melee, or use pistols only or some other niche that's your bag but don't expect others to share your zeal, and don't be a relentless douche because they aren't in line.
But seriously though, mark ass trick is kinda funny.
A display of sucking that rivals the highest amount of sucking that a player has displayed in the history of sucking.-JR

We were stopping everyone from hacking. Its a little game we play to make FW a bit more fun.

I mean how about we give you another example, imagine if me, attim and load of other AVers q-synced into a FW match to play 'let no vehicle touch thy haloed ground', then we started team killing friendly vehicles because it was 'FUN' then we laugh about a guy who's just sent us hatemail for blowing up his expensive tank as a friendly and tell him he needs to learn to get out of his tank and contribute to the team.
Does that not seem at all, like an absolute D**khead move?
But the thing it's not even just that simple, because we know why you do it.

This is the type of stuff I experience trying to get cal FW players to work together and consolidate. A bunch of people in their 'cool kids clubs' who think griefing is perfectly acceptable when they decide they want to do it.
Also thank you Mobius, for proving to people that you really are one of the sh*tstains of this community. Guy queues up and tries to play the game the way it's supposed to be played and you grief him, then you share the mails with your alliance when he's justifiably angry, then you come to the forums expecting everyone to all giggle and titter at your completely reprehensible behaviour. I really hope you take some time to reflect on how you act towards other people.

Good luck with that, PC mechanics make it impossible for new groups to enter PC with any sort of real success. You'd need to gather a group of vets with another ISK to burn to even consider to compete.
I doubt this entire community working together could do it. You guys all mostly suck. |

Edit: Well, after reading the replies, it seems everyone's got on the Molon hate train.
Seriously, what's the problem? Mobius explained the situation to the blueberry. It was clear that seeng 15 people from the same corp in a FW means it's pretty much in the bag. He should have just played along and gotten the essentially free LP. He also should have gotten the warning after attempting to hack and getting killed.

The emotion you're supposed to be feeling here is Disgust. Disgust that people think they should be allowed to ruin others enjoyment of the game in this manner and that they feel they can justify it with 'he was warned'. Disgust at the fact they feel they can harass this player who was just trying to play the game by posting the mails he made to the forums.
People are permanently banned for far less in other games. In fact, I feel it would be appropriate if a permanent ban *was* handed out over this.

I dont go so far as to divvy up my disdain for this behavior among the entirety of ML, I have played and played well with a lot of you guys. I do call it like I see it, and this was a pretty **** move on the groups part, and to gloat about it even more so. "We sure showed that nooblet what for coming into this f2p public match and not following the rules! I bet he'll learn a thing or 2 about team play next time around!". Regardless of the fact, the whole shenanigans are pretty indicative of a certain type of player in DUST, the niche elitest underground hipster , trying his damndest to kill the mainstream appeal of his favorite band so they don't "sell out", and by sell out he really means "become popular so more than myself and my 8 hipster ass buddies actually appreciate their appeal". You're way too passionate, chill out. I honestly probably could solo most a team by myself, mechanics allow it, bad ones.
Numbers dictate everything in a game, they decide if what you're doing is even possible. And the numbers to this game go against trying to compete in PC. It's as simple as that.

lolol I remember winning a pc match with 6 players vs 15 scrubs from a noob corp.
Edit: Then we went in for the second match... but we didn't take any letters because we didn't wanna flip the district of a noob corp. But just a few of us flipped a letter and double orbitaled them the second game for lolz. Because we could.

I can run proto yes but do i no because o can do way better in adv gear than i can in my proto.

Harassment on the other hand is: ha-+rass verb \h+Ö--êras; -êher-+Ös, -êha-r+Ös\(1) : to annoy persistently (2) : to create an unpleasant or hostile situation for especially by uninvited and unwelcome verbal or physical conduct I did not persistently annoy him on the forums, nor did I create a hostile situation through uninvited verbal conduct. His conduct, in the manner of his reply, dictated my response. If he had responded differently and I made a post on the forum about it that would have been harassment. Since he replied by directly abusing me my response falls safely beyond the bounds of harassment.

I'm not certain you understand what 'verbal' is. It does not necessarily mean 'spoken with your mouth'.
