Context: We cue synced into FW with the goal of not letting anyone hack a point. Its hard, fun, and forces us to work together as a team. One blueberry, busteonthabeatho 13XXMERICA, got in with us so I posted a message to him while we were in the warbarge saying not to hack any point.
He proceeded to try and hack several points so we team killed him, and so he wouldn't loose a suit I picked him up again. I watched him for a second and he choose to shoot me so I killed him and picked him up again hoping he would get the message that this wouldn't work. Repeat three times. He proceeded to hack and get team killed at other points with similar results.
Post battle here is the email thread that ensued:

We were stopping everyone from hacking. Its a little game we play to make FW a bit more fun.
You are welcome to report me by the way since there is nothing wrong with team killing in FW. Its low sec and totally permitted.

Perhaps, and I realize that I'm going out on a limb here, the larger message to be taken away from this whole thread is that the majority of the Dust community is far less trolly then any of us may have thought. I personally will freely own up to my semi-troll status (only semi since I spend the vast majority of my time working for the community) hate away.

What I did was hardly harassment. You'll notice that I never said a single thing that was rude or disrespectful the player. I never called him names or personally attacked him. Quite the opposite he attacked me. He used language that was clearly abusive and far beyond what is called for in a game setting. Simply posting his hateful words is simply calling him out, and myself at the same time since I will admit my in game actions were mean but far from crossing any sort of line, team killing is, after all, part of the game the sum total of which is not harassment.

Harassment on the other hand is: ha-+rass verb \h+Ö--êras; -êher-+Ös, -êha-r+Ös\(1) : to annoy persistently (2) : to create an unpleasant or hostile situation for especially by uninvited and unwelcome verbal or physical conduct I did not persistently annoy him on the forums, nor did I create a hostile situation through uninvited verbal conduct. His conduct, in the manner of his reply, dictated my response. If he had responded differently and I made a post on the forum about it that would have been harassment. Since he replied by directly abusing me my response falls safely beyond the bounds of harassment.

Oh I fully admitted that I am in the wrong here but I am totally willing to split hairs over whether this is harassment or not.

I don't think that you get what 'harassment' is and it should be quite obvious that based on the amount of people disagreeing with you, that you are wrong.
Nope. I actually have no interest in shaming him and you will notice that early on I totally agreed that I am mean. I simply think his response was hilarious.
