I see alot of thoughts on these but the two main points from my understanding is:
1. Turbo controllers, not the gun. This we can all agree on. 2. Rather than heat per shot like one would expect it's measured by seconds of continuous fire.
So, a simple tweak then should be to simply turn from heat per second to per shot?
If Preparation is half of the battle and knowing is the other half, Then there is no need to fight.

We've been saying this since it was released. Also, recoil for any gun should be per shot.
This whole per second thing is proof CCP tried to copy MMO mechanics into the guns which was short sighted.
Nothing on guns should be per second unless it's a beam.

Best if they just leave the ScR alone and do something about the turbo controllers. Perhaps a mechanism where uber consistent fire rates could trigger an overheat? |

I think you missed my point. I was talking about how much mass there would be. Or more likely the lack of mass. No mass = no kick. Shooting a high powered light beam should not cause noticeable kick because the mass that is being shot is not significant enough to cause kick. |

The turbo makes the Scrambler Rifle shoot faster than the assault variant, shoot more rounds than pressing manually on the semi auto variant and packs a bigger punch than the assault variant can dish at full auto. So basically makes the Scrambler a better assault version than its own assault variant for less the cost!

It overheats easier than the assault version.
but yes the damage is so much more.
From my experiments with a timing circuit attached to my mouse if there lag sometimes you queue up shots and from my perspective I hear them all go off in very fast succession, faster then say a trumpeter with a case of the twitches could reasonably expect to press.
20 shots per overheat with no amar suit for extra heat or better rifle, that is straight BPO scrambler rifle. It does seem to have a lot of kick up, I don't use ScR often so I'm unfamiliar if this is normal.
It does melt a heavy quite quickly, far better than any other weapon I have.
I don't have ScR to 5 so I can't use the proto version to see how that behaves but I expect they are easier to use??

With the railguns and blasters 80GJ refers to the amount of energy transfered to the slug, from this we could calculate the velocity then reverse the equation to work out the energy of the moving slug.
So let's assume the slug weighs approximately 5Kg, for a railgun this is probably rather light. V = GêÜE/M V= 126,000 Km/s (nearly 0.3x light speed)
Now we calculate the Energy of the moving projectile E=mc^2 7,985,000,000 GJ ;)
