I feel quite satisfied when I take out anything other than LAVs. LAVs are never used as mobile weapons platforms (Which they are damn good at if the driver knows when to stop and when to drive or if you just take over both roles) but they are rarely used as such. However, the team that ignores dropships and tanks almost always loses. So in that case I feel quite satisfied when I save my defenseless infantry buddies from the rolling threats that they can't stop. AV is a reactionary role. I never go in wanting to play AV but sometimes you have to if no one else will step up to the plate. Its a support role and I feel quite satisfied when I and any other avers in the match chase off the vehicles and force them to change tactics. I myself generally feel pretty bored in tanks because I'm either getting popped real fast by a competent enemy or I'm rolling over newberries. Haven't tried ADS yet although I can field them, still trying to burn through all my old fittings before I Marian Reform again. My absolute favorite thing vehicle side is to drive around solo in a LAV and use either a blaster or railgun to mow down enemies. I've actually killed a couple of silly blaster tanks that underestimated the rail turret before. Rail Turret plus a good driver can be a nightmare for blaster tanks.

I would always jump in a HAV or use a LAV and snipe people with my s-turret but now I fly most of the time and snipe with forge's and SR's . Do it true , it will make you feel better ... It's nothing like using HAV's and so forth but now with the great disadvantage ground vehicles have over air ... I would rather be the one blowing them up instead of getting blown up myself . Try it and see for yourself , it might feel dirty at first but you can always take a shower or bath . You just might begin to like it . You would think that CCP would have given the infantry refund that should have been in 1.8.

I've done a fair bit of forging and I don't really remember some vehicles dying faster because I hit them in certain areas. Is there a specific area to aim for?

I had a adv or proto tank with a rail try to kill me at 10m distance for 2 minutes and I fired 48 standard swarm missiles into him using my standard Amarr commando. After his hardeners ran out and he used a shield recharge module, when his shields were depleted, I destroyed his shields a second time and he retreated. Then my 48th missile hit him and..... +150 .......+50 WP. He was a bad overconfident pilot. 48 missiles means 12 bursts of 4 missiles. Edit: They USUALLY only die when they are bad pilots.

Mostly I forged, on the ground, but lately I have been swarming in a scout suit and really having fun with that. Minassault will be replacing that. I learned to hate tanks in 1.7 and loved watching them burn. I no longer feel joy every time I kill a tank because now bad tankers are not that hard to kill. Fighting a good tanker with a good build and coming out on top is still the biggest thrill in the ga me for me. I switched to swarms because the ADS and not tanks were the most devastating vehicle on the field. I also love killing LAV's when I know they have some ass with a proto HMG running around hopping and popping people. The scrubbiest tactic I see is guys in proto Calscouts or HMG's that roll right up to you and pop out to kill me when they know they will lose as tankers. It just isn't right that they get two essentially two suits to fight my one. Some of the top players do this, so disappointing. So yeah, I love running AV, but I like playing solo even when squadded up. Because, that's why.

Hey man, I played against you the other day, just wanted to say nice forge skills. I was playing with darken sol and we were on the domination map with the bridge with A in the city on the right. I popped you once off a roof, then you proceeded to hunt me down for the rest of the game, and you got me once a good time. If you ever wanna squad up and terrorize vehicles, I'm totes down. HAVs are somewhat vulnerable unless they peek behind buildings or use negative ground.. They carry ammo, I run Spawn Beacon, Rep Tool, and Needle to support them. If I need to rep the tank, one of them takes the wheel while the other covers me. And it is very powerful...only 1 HAV has been able to survive an assault by us (not to be confused with enemy tanks assaulting us...which usually results in the loss of both tanks, and us foot-slogging it...frakking glitchy shield boosters) Khanid Logi and Tanker, sometimes AV Heavy or Sniper.
