Don't nerf the Assault Dropship Do not buff the Assault Dropship
Only give us a price reduction for the hull and we are happy.
And for all of you complaining "We are too squishy!"
Just be happy you have the ADS. Also something with capable fire power and agility shouldn't have high overall eHP

Dropship's shouldn't even have had that frontal turret in the first place to begin with. It was added as a temporary replacement for all of us asking for our jets. But it seems we aren't getting them any time soon and the ADS is being used more for Attacking rather than support.
Even if the Assault Dropships has it's name "ASSAULT" it straightens to far away from the Dropship's original purpose which is troop transport.

The entire purpose of tank modules on the dropship was to allow them to stay in the air and have some persistence... Not to give Turrets on Dropships extreme killing potential and be forced to have dropships paper thin to balance it. It's assbackwards concept and makes no sense.
The only thing to compensate for the Assault Dropships is that they are a glasscannon. Make them any more resistant to AV and you'll have un-killable air machines that desemate both infantry and vehicles in seconds (I'm looking at you Python with XT1's!)
Even today, if you are in a squad and using the ADS and take a Forge round or Swarm volley, you can just hit your afterburner and shoot straight up to the flight ceiling where nothing can harm you (except Null Cannon missles... if you get in their way) while you order your squad to hunt down the threat.
And when the price reduction comes and the HP buff arrives, I can tell you all that we will see far more ADS in the sky than now.
Infantry will call for a nerf. And CCP always hits hard with the nerf.
TL;DR Reduce price only for the ADS without touching it's eHP
It's a glasscannon so it's supposed to hit hard but be weak
If (when) the HP buff and price reduction comes more ADS will plague the sky with will make infantry call out for a nerf

And invisible swarms aren't that big of a problem to me. They have locked on to you. if they are coming from behind, you'll never see them. The only way to escape them is by flying away from them. This excuse would have an arguement if Swarms were dumbfired but they aren't. Once a swarm locks in. You can only escape the by flying away.
Do I agree it needs fixing. It's not really an excuse.
Invisible forge I agree. And it can be fixed. But this doesn't justify the buff.
We ADS are a glasscannon. We are not meant to soak up damage like HAVs do.

I gotta agree to the lower cost of DS and ADS, piloting and vehicles are a role they should be playable as one, also AV should be AV just like an anti infantry gun kills infantry AV should kill vehicles becuse it also is a role and it won`t bankrupt a guy every time he dies. circle of life system |

ADS are fine. I fly them regularly. If you kill an ADS easy, Its because most likely the pilot is an idiot. If you don't wipe the ADS out easy or at all, Its because the pilot is good.
They have their counters & every pilot has many things to worry about in the air.
As far as Rendering & Invisible Forges & Swarms & Collision -- They are my only concern.

If I had my way, ADS & Swarms/Forges would be left alone. I like them where they are. Incoming Wir-Swarms means GTFO.
Also, If I were CCP, I would focus more on tanks -- Specifically Rail Tanks. A red flag is the fact a Militia Railgun can out DPS a Particle Cannon. I find no logic in that -- Must be fixed. I believe HAVs deserve SP-pricey skills to increase Range/RoF/DMG. That way, Someone who has spent 20m+ SP & 500k on war machines would be a superb force. Chances are unlikely to be wiped out by a militia grade HAV with bare minimum or null SP investment. However, This is another thread of its own & I'm sure this has been ranted on time & time again. ADS already has these types of skills except Range which is not needed. However, With these skills maxed with SP investments, You can clearly tell a difference of vehicle performance.
My vote still stands for ADSs to be untouched. 30% Fit, 70% Skill is how it will always go. If you deliver an OP ADS/HAV fit into the hands of a moron then you can count on kissing that fit goodbye. Which is how it should be.

I don't really agree with a price decrease only because I see vehicles as a Corp asset for PCs. It should be expensive for any Corp to run them as they can truly be a game changing asset in the right hands at the right times.
Now I also understand that a pilot must always be flying to improve their skills and it can be expensive to run in a public match setting. New pilots and those struggling with isk is very rough to field vehicles over and over....etc
Those that can pilot well can be extremely difficult to drop out of the sky with the current builds. To see them with even more ehp is going to be hair pulling, rage inducing, controller breaking to try to remove them.
I am in agreement that dropships and AV should stay where they are pre hotfix Charlie.

But in all honesty, I would be in favor of an increase to afterburner recharge, if all the numbers I saw weren't ridiculous in my eyes (I can't really put a definite number on the recharge).

I said that the ADS was added because the pilots of Dust 514 wanted jets. But the maps are too small for having fast jets so CCP made the ADS to temporarily fill that gap.
If anything, the ADS acts more like a one-man Attack Helicopter.

Honesty pythons don't need more shields. They are in a good place now, adding 500 more shields to a python will tip the scales against the fg v dropship engagement. Its good right now but this would give pythons the advantage which it shouldn't have.
My gunner dropship has 2508 shields, 3008 wouldn't be nessasary. Logibro was talking about EM swarms and antidropship swarms, but said they wouldn't be coming with hotfix charlie. Depending on how those worked the dropship might need some extra shields but not before. Solo fit pythons will have an incredible tank with 500 more shields

So the buff still went... I hope the price stayed the same because now we will have more and durable Pythons spamming XT1's like crazy at infantry and vehicles.
Oh, and if they get hit, they can just scurry away with an Afterburner only to return 10 seconds later, rain death, get hit by the slightest of AV, hit afterburner again and get out of reach from all AV in just 5 seconds.
