Don't nerf the Assault Dropship
Do not buff the Assault Dropship
Only give us a price reduction for the hull and we are happy.
And for all of you complaining "We are too squishy!"
Just be happy you have the ADS.
Also something with capable fire power and agility shouldn't have high overall eHP
Just be glad you have it.
Dropship's shouldn't even have had that frontal turret in the first place to begin with. It was added as a temporary replacement for all of us asking for our jets. But it seems we aren't getting them any time soon and the ADS is being used more for Attacking rather than support.
Even if the Assault Dropships has it's name "ASSAULT" it straightens to far away from the Dropship's original purpose which is troop transport.

Dropships where supposed to be mobile troop transport vehicles and Mobile spawn platforms. Dropships where supposed to be that static sight in the sky that give full time legitimacy to full time AV mercenaries.. Allowing something they can engage always.. But with the Straight up burst alpha damage that dropships have today and with the lack of any meaningful defense to sit there and provide support to troops, or not being able to have a meaningful gunfire exchange with AV specialists before having to completely run for your life. We have made dropships into fighters essentially.
The entire purpose of tank modules on the dropship was to allow them to stay in the air and have some persistence... Not to give Turrets on Dropships extreme killing potential and be forced to have dropships paper thin to balance it. It's assbackwards concept and makes no sense.
The only thing to compensate for the Assault Dropships is that they are a glasscannon. Make them any more resistant to AV and you'll have un-killable air machines that desemate both infantry and vehicles in seconds (I'm looking at you Python with XT1's!)
Even today, if you are in a squad and using the ADS and take a Forge round or Swarm volley, you can just hit your afterburner and shoot straight up to the flight ceiling where nothing can harm you (except Null Cannon missles... if you get in their way) while you order your squad to hunt down the threat.
And when the price reduction comes and the HP buff arrives, I can tell you all that we will see far more ADS in the sky than now.
Infantry will call for a nerf. And CCP always hits hard with the nerf.
TL;DR
Reduce price only for the ADS without touching it's eHP
It's a glasscannon so it's supposed to hit hard but be weak
If (when) the HP buff and price reduction comes more ADS will plague the sky with will make infantry call out for a nerf
Dropship's are to supposed to be for troop transportaion while the ADS was supposed to be for support but it is being used as a primary form of Anti-Infantry and Ant-Vehicle
Maxed out Python skill plus XT1 missiles can decimate anything in seconds
I am also a ADS pilot. But I don't want to see them turn out to be the most hated vehicle in the game post-charlie.
