I am most curious as to the argument that stopped this amazing proposal. Currently, the Amarr Scout is to get Precision, Gallente Dampening and Precision, Caldari Range and Precision...and the Minmatar get what? Hacking? Umm...how can we speed hack a point when we have to use Codebreakers on our suits? Other suits will be able to scan us 88 meters out now even with damps on if an Amarr is proto with two complex precision mods, and we need I believe two or three complex dampners and a proto cloak to hide?!
That is unacceptable. The Minmatar Scout has no ewar advantage saying pick me. At least Codebreakers in highs can allow me to dampen and get close with my knives! I already know how to use low hp, but struggling to get in close when these super scouts come is going to make my life impossible.
Please make Codebreakers high slots, or give me and the Minmatar community a damn good reason for why our main strength (hacking), is taking away from our survival. The Cal may have to sacrifice hp in their shields, but they can still dampen with hardcore precision so other suits can't find them.
Amarr will see you coming from many meters out, so they will flank and you can't find them if they run two damps.
Gallente are just fricikin ghosts.
Minmatar have to use codebreakers, hurting our dampening.

True but you'll be closer. And if CCP makes scouts have a bonus to module effacy, perhaps you will get dampening

IMO You should have to sacrifice tank for your bonus Gallante sacrifice armor for Damps Caldari sacrifice shields for precision Amarr sacrifice armor for range (Why they got precision is beyond me) Minmatar sacrifice shields for hacking A scanned scout is a dead scout and you can't hack points if your dead.

This was attempted but created unanticipated problems. To quote Rattati, "a module has never been moved from Low Slot to High Slot before" ... he didn't say it couldn't be done, only that it would be more difficult than expected.

Exactly. My issue is that sacrificing tank for those suits won't hurt them.
Gallente dampened can't be found, so they don't need tank. Caldari see you coming, so they need no shields Amarr will get precision AS well as Range...they will absolutely see you, and they can tank or dampen without impedement. Minmatar have to give shields for precision, and their hacking reduces our armor as well as dampening. So we are naked. We may see some scouts coming, but Gallente gank us. We may try to hack a point, but Caldari see us

I totally agree. There's really only two ways of going about speed hacking in competitive play (as far as I can see at least).
1. You are super fast to get in and get out (kincats). 2. You are super sneaky to get in and get out without being scanned (damps).
Both of these are in direct competition with the most important module for being a speedy hacker, the code breaker. This is why code breakers should just be moved to the high slot. This will benefit all suits not just the min scout. (thinking specifically of armor tankers complaining about the lack of variety in high slots)
As far as Rattati being worried, how much are these modules actually used? I'd guess very little because of they are low slots and they are high capacity. Is anyone really that concerned that speed hacking fits will be OP in the world of 1500 hp heavies dealing 800+ dps and 360 scans. Or that moving code breakers to high slots would change this?

Agrees Boot. And Kincat stacking atill cannot work because they will scan you before you get close. Currently a Gal Scout can hack just as well as a Min Scout since thwy can stack 4 Codebreakers while atill being nicely dampened. Don't change th Gal Scout or penalize them, just have it where we can dampen too

You require two complex fampners to hide, and can still have two codebreakers, range amps, etc. Min Scouts need three, using all our low slots. We have no Ewar, no scans no range no nothing. You take for granted the tyranny of the Cal Scout and other Precision scouts because your bonus goes towards your survivability. Min Scouts have none. Even when we get past your all-seeing sentries, they are alerted the second we start hacking. We need a speed hack to get it off. The flipping issue is we can't do both simaltanouesly. We either die trying to infiltrate or get killed while hacking with a moderately increased bonus. And yes, Running 3 codebreakers is a necessity. You usually one have 3-4 seconds before you get shotgunned. That is the time we have to hack, and then try and get out. I have only survived a speed hack in a PC once, ans that was with a whole squad keeping hoayikes at bay. That is not an actual speedhack, that is teammates dying for you while you just hack faster. A speedhack is get in hack, get out. No team needed. Currently Minnie's can only speed, but we can't hack. How we get in to hack, but without speed

because appearently a full dampened scout that aswell has codebreakers would be so OP. Ya know stacking hacking mods and dampeners leaves you with no room for plates or shields which means if some 1 shots you for half a sec you are dead.

The only problem the community has with active dampening is that it will make the Min scout OP...considering how UP it is now... I can't see that happening...and it isn't really getting any changes in Hotfix charlie...so active dampening would be perfect.
"One does not simply" run like a Raptor. Only Mk.0 Scouts will do that.

I believe it was so that MinScouts could use 3 of them while still being able to speed tank.
Though this will hurt the Matari Assaults, while also guaranteeing that only Armor Tankers will use them when it comes to Medium Frames.

as it is now the minja need some kind of buff(any buff really, poor little fellers) i laugh when i see minja coming at my cal scout and the if they get no love so will the amarr/gal scout come charlie.
In my opinion if the bonuses cannot be changed for minja or codebreakers moved to high slots at least lower their profile to where less dampening is needed

what slots the codebreakers fit i really dont mind either, but the min scout bonuses are all throwed off, neither really go with the minmatar, i liked it better when the min logi was the best hacker. the minmatar are supposed to favor explosive but only the commando gets a bonus and they cant even use grenades and having remotes on a minando isnt really worth it over a nanohive in most cases, and who puts a flaylock on a minando when u coud use 2 massdrivers or an even better combo.
making the min scout have a bonus to explosives and maby kincat efficiency would be a good change for that suit, it would make for some good fits whlestill making sure the min is the fastest scout. the fast attack guerrilla warrior like it shuld be. |
