Agreed, yet dropsuits dont need to be skilled into, whereas dropships do.
Then if you dont have an ads you need another player or two. Otherwise it comes to ramming.
Which is a little extreme considering nothing elses counter is itself? Correct?

Flight Ceiling isn't safe. It is an area that is still in the burnzone: I fly a fighter-style Incubus often and hunting A/DSs is my role. DSs at the flight ceiling are dead meat for me at that point.
Can everything get at the flight ceiling? No, of course not and I'm not trying to say that they can, but people claim that the flight ceiling is somehow better than the redline...when it isn't, it's just different. And really, your suggestion was awful.

Yes I understand that other ads and ds are up there, but the only counter. Everything else has multiple counters and i think im safe to assume that the only counter to something shouldnt be itself.
Its an alternate to the latter which is a nerf to the ads and ds itself, where I believe they are in a good position.
What would you rather no regen say above 300-500m above ground level or a direct nerf ? Or even a regen cut above 300-500m
Who knows once/if they fix the skill stacking it may not be needed at all, but if thats off the table its a way to keep things in check.
Im open to other suggestions what do you think? (Dont say nothing, lets be honest something has gotta give)
I have an ads myself so im not just saying this for my sake.

Im yet to see a valid or reasonable arguement as to why this shouldnt happen we take a module to rep our armor that works anywhere u have modules for infantry that work anywhere maybe ur armor shouldnt rep until u r in the red line or 300m from action. its an aerial vehicle not an infantry suit they are 2 very different things u CANNOT compare them the way u r doing here

Lets look at why they flee. Because they don't want to die. While they are fleeing, how effective are they in the battle? They're not, they're doing literally nothing but rep back up.
What happens when you kill a dropship? It has to respawn. How effective is it while it's respawning? It's not, it's literally doing nothing but being called back in.
So in effect, driving a dropship off and forcing it to rep back up is effectively the same thing as killing it. The only thing that matters is how easily you can force them to flee, because forcing them to flee is the same as removing them from the battle for a while.
And before you get all 'ermergerd derpsherp fanboi', I can't fly worth a damn, more of a AV or HAV guy myself and nothing brings me more joy that shooting dropships out of the sky. However, I can't fault them or call it a faulty game mechanic because they're using an intended advantage in order to stay alive. |

Except they're not the only counter to themselves: all forms of AV can fend off or kill a DS, the only thing a DS can do that AV cannot is threaten others at the flight ceiling. Except for suicide dropping on stuff in the redline, nothing can threaten far enough into the redline on most maps and still be dangerous because of the timer.
The ceiling is there because it makes sense: having less elevation is kind of stupid, at that point what's the point of a DS; no regen makes no sense whatsoever - going to the ceiling takes roughly the same time as running to the redline and has just as much risk involved with buildings or final AV shots.
So yes, nothing should be changed about the ceiling or regen: because they are not the issues with the dropships.
Skill stacking is a problem. Swarm damage progression is a problem (being fixed in Charlie.)
Really, if dropships do not have the ability to run to regen, what is the point? They simply do not have the tanking capability to stand and fight, so why are you trying to take away/severely curtail their method of survival? A dropship at the ceiling is not contributing to the ground game.

Sorry but im saying it should rep within the ground level and 300-500m range not above it?

Ik sure other vehicles want to flee as well, but during that flee they get bombarded, ds's take seconds to escape fire.
What would you say if the tall buildings had an av player on top could reach you all the way up there instead. So instead of being able to just float you had to dodge them (if an av player was up there) most maps have a larger enough building for it to work, but some dont.

Yes av can, but nothing else has the ability to zoom in one direction to fully heal, and before you say dropsuits or other vehicles can, your able to chase them unless of course the redline
Running to the redline takes much longer then flying up.
How about a redline timer up there?
