Noone else has a safe zone like that, besides the redline. Which dropships should use instead of flying up after taking 1 hit.
Does it really matter if you kill them? Forcing them to leave is the same as destroying them, it takes them out of the battle for a while. |

A similar logic could be said "Youre dropsuit shields and armor won't regen while behind cover." |

Moving off topic here.
Except for other dropships therefore it's not 100% safe. |

Im open to other suggestions what do you think? (Dont say nothing, lets be honest something has gotta give)
I have an ads myself so im not just saying this for my sake.
Lets look at why they flee. Because they don't want to die. While they are fleeing, how effective are they in the battle? They're not, they're doing literally nothing but rep back up.
What happens when you kill a dropship? It has to respawn. How effective is it while it's respawning? It's not, it's literally doing nothing but being called back in.
So in effect, driving a dropship off and forcing it to rep back up is effectively the same thing as killing it. The only thing that matters is how easily you can force them to flee, because forcing them to flee is the same as removing them from the battle for a while.
And before you get all 'ermergerd derpsherp fanboi', I can't fly worth a damn, more of a AV or HAV guy myself and nothing brings me more joy that shooting dropships out of the sky. However, I can't fault them or call it a faulty game mechanic because they're using an intended advantage in order to stay alive. |
