Slow, can't vault ****, no auto reps, gets stuck on everything, huge scan profile so everybody already knows your position, no equipment, Logis aren't always on your Team or they're timid WP sluts that won't ******* move with you to a better position, Heavy weapons aren't exactly easy (HMG overheat and 8 second reload, FG 4 seconds to charge and only 4 shots in the clip with another long ass reload time), etc.

The BCR however, has plenty of DPC (and DPS) to deal with most Heavies in one clip.

Allow me to introduce you to this brand-new weapon we have here. We call this weapon the "Rail Rifle." Built through inferior caldari committees it still holds the distinction of being one of the longest-range weapons in New Eden that can be carried man-portably. When operated at ranges in excess of 40 meters it significantly outperforms even the vaunted "Boundless" Heavy machinegun, and allows for safe dispatching of the targets at range. When combined with the more mobile Caldari Assault dropsuits the weapon shines as the dispersion on most weapons traditionally used in hard counter with the Caldari are of poor utility at best at the ranges the little Megacorp stooges prefer to operate at, thusly allowing for ample protection via shield extension and energizing.
Further, due to the Rail Rifle's enhanced utility versus armor , the Gallente and Amarr sentinel suits tend to rapidly succumb to long-range fire unless they allow themselves to become pinned behind cover, in which case, mission accomplished, they're not doing anything useful to aid their squadmates.
Of particular not to be wary of while using this fine piece of equipment is ourr own Caldari Forge Gun. As this weapon is also considered extreme range antimateriel, it was deemed unsuitable for use as an infantry-killer. This assumption has been rapidly made a mockery of by skilled Sentinels around New Eden. As Your Rail Rifle does operate at Range, it operates best from a stable firing platform that is not moving. When confronted with Forge Guns, Mobility is absolutely key.
Never hold still for longer than it takes to pull the trigger a few times, move unpredictably, and unlike when facing a Heavy Machinegun, it is always preferable to engage the Forge Gun in close as opposed to at range. You are less likely to lose a clone as most heavies must switch to secondary weapons. However, Be aware that the Sentinels who exclusively operate the Assault Forge Guns have been known to operate effectively in close. But the tactics apply. Don't hold still, don't run in straight lines, and always hit the Sentinel from an oddball angle so he wastes most of his time (and defenses) desperately trying to find you.
No seriously. Is this rocket science or something? It REALLY IS THIS EASY!
This is how people kill my sentinel suits.
Dipsticks who charge right at me trying to throw an RE at me just make it easy to rack up cheap kills. Shotties to the back of the head (From assaults and Logis) tends to be bad for one's day. |

I do know heavy spam is a problem, but with the CPU/PG fix (which you will need to invest SP into your heavy now) and for the love of God fix the assault then you will only see the true heavies... Dont just rely on that work up your counters also, because the heavies you do see will most likely be beta heavies and will **** you up if you go about them the wrong way...

heavies are not as indestructible as most people are letting on.

With the heat change spray and pray HMG heavies will find the HMG not to be as easy to use effectively as it is now.
At the same time the Assault Suit buffs will make the Assault suit look a lot more attractive.
These two factors combined will cause a shift of the FOTM spammers from Sentinel to Assault. The change will take 2 to 3 weeks after Charlie drops. It takes a while for the masses to pick up on changes.
Hand/Eye coordination cannot be taught. For everything else there is the Learning Coalition.

So in a domination match in the meat grinder, where is this magical area where I'll find one heavy on his own? What can I do? Throw remotes around all day? It doesn't change the fact that apart from remotes or an OB that that point isnt getting taken while 8 heavies sit there all day with an 800 DPS mini gun . heavies are clearly OP, they take 75% damage from explosive weapons, have 3x the HP of a medium frame and takes less damage from certain weaponry depending on race. Yet because you can sneak up on him it makes all that ok. Put one dampener on a heavy and only scouts can pick them up so he now has the ability to jump you +1000hp. How is the sheer amount of survivability gained equal to what the suit loses?
If you're playing domination you attack from range and kill the uplinks surrounding the killzone. When they no longer possess the ability to respawn due to all of the uplinks you killed, you siege hack area. If its an open map, you use ranged weaponry. A medium frame suit will always have an advantage against a heavy suit at range because it takes very small movement to mitigate a ton of damage, whereas the heavy suit is just too large in hitbox size to mitigate the same way. You will win the ranged strafe war against any fat suit with a rail rifle unless you are incompetent.
If its a closed map, you siege with explosive weaponry. Resistent =/= immune. If you're on a research outpost and it's heavy central you are going to flush out every heavy in the pit after 20-30 seconds of mass driver spam from highground. Even if they have reps, their logis can't survive that splash punishment.
Heavies are meant to sit by the point and beat the hell out of you with relatively little effort involved. That is what their suit is designed to do. They are not equipped to run around and hunt uplinks, or maintain a prolonged siege.
Your problem is that you want to run in there like it's Quake 3 Arena and just start capping fools. The game doesn't work the way. |

Actually, I found throwing RE to be a perfectly valid tactic. But that's more to do with the fact that dropping one on a truly aggressive sentinel or Commando is not a trivial task. Against lazy FOTM chasers? I offer my blessing to the deliverers of sudden BOOM.
Honestly with the Heat change and fitting reductions, you should see a sharp drop in FOTM fatties. You'll be left with the dedicated donut chasers like me. |

If you're complaining about Heavies, you're obviously not approaching them correctly, and they are not a problem. Spam? Is 3-4 Heavies in a team considered spam? That's fairly normal... I wonder if someone needs to take a breather and revaluate as to why they're having such trouble with Heavies.

It just needs to stop! the spam of anything is annoying its not really the suit its the annoying players that play the game. spaming scouts, tanks, heavys, REs, uplinks, ADS, what ever its all annoying so blame annoying people because i have a heavy suit and i don't even use it that much when there is all ready a couple heavys on my team.
