Merc packs with BPO's were taken out of the game because of the new player market .Now that excuse is no more with the new player market for Legion.Bring back merc packs with bpo's and arum and make some money for your company CCP Shanhgi .I have spent hundreds of dollars on Merc packs,Collector editions just to get those bpos items.I have 60 million skill points and if you had some different bpos for sale I would buy them. |

CCP eventually realized that BPOs as there are in Dust were a terrible idea. I doubt it will come back. Actually, I want it to stay like that. Makes the current BPOs that much more valuable if they get transferred to Legion. XD

The whole idea of ending BPO sales was a player driven market. No player driven market then BPO Merc pack sale should resume. One more way to finance Project Legion Development |

According to CCP Z, there appears to have been some changes to the original idea that was proposed during Fanfest 2014. We don't know what they are, but let's hope those changes include no BPO suits.

it's a good idea to offer packs with AUR and BPO's, the new player should have the same options as we do for Suits/Vehicles. As it sits now the new player has to hope that we wait for them so they can ride along, this doesn't happen too often because if we do let a new player come along 9 times out of 10 they will steal the vehicle the first chance they get, so unfortunately they are left behind firing rounds at us as we drive away. your right, CCP could definitely make some extra cash providing these packs to everyone, and it would be fair, why should the vets have this advantage? it's hard enough to keep ISK in the bank in this game, give the new guys a break CCP! |

I completely disagree with you. BPOs should move into Legion. I invested real-world money primarily for those BPOs. I could care less about the AUR consumables or the AUR itself as long as I get to take those BPOs with me into Legion. Besides, many of us in Dust purchased large quantities of these BPOs with the promise from CCP that we will likely be able to trade them in the secondary market for Dust. Since now the secondary market is NOT coming to Dust but rather for Legion instead, I at least feel that I should have those BPOs transferred with me to Legion.

A better alternative is introduction of vanity items for AUR. Since it's abundantly clear after watching people play PSHome that vanity items are all the craze in the PS market, it would be wise for CCP to sell vanity items in Dust whenever possible. Trust me, you'd be surprised how much people are willing to spend for a little bling.

I wouldn't mind that either. However, there are a lot of other BPO owners out there who are not as receptive of that idea as I am. Just like me, they spent money for a BPO that doesn't require materials.

I agree with Maken but not for the same reasons. BPOs should never have been in the game to begin with since they give a rather unfair economic advantage to those who bought them. Reintroducing them to Dust would just make the game a bit more pay to win, always a bad thing in my book.
As far as transferring BPOs to Legion I think they should transfer but as permenant vanity items. This is of course assuming that all suits in Legion are still BPOs so having more would be no major economic benefit.

There is no denying that it has helped with Dust development. But just remember that CCP got burned big time for trying to be greedy back in 2011 with Eve Online: Incarna. People protested, thousands of subscriptions were cancelled in one month, and then 20% of the staff got laid off in the aftermath of the protest we call the "Jita Riots". Oh, Dust also suffered as a result of this protest and so did WoD.

remove all BPOs! they are too isk efficient and when our assets migrate to legion it will be overly powerful till people are rocking advanced (tier 2 [meta 5]) gear or higher with ample skills...
HOWEVER! maybe add limited addition BPO set that people can unlock when X amount of SP has been earned (see EVE gekko drone unlocking but SP insted of isk or w/e)
like x amount vehicals destroyed gets you medium+swarm xx amount gets you heavy + forge
x amount of player kills gets you main weapon+medium suit xx amount player kills gets you sidearm+assault suit+ flux nades(?)
x amount of Rezing/repping gives you logi suit, injector and repairer.
x amount of control point captures gets you light suit+ x weapon xx amount of captures gives you scout+weapon+cloak(?)
xx amount of control defences gets you sent suit+heavy weapon (hoping they add new weapons like a gattleing lazor)
x amount of vehical kills while assaulting a cap point (with in x distance) gets you commando suit+main weapon+PLC+AV nade?
something along these lines.. and ONLY when the game goes LIVE.. and they are open to EVERYONE once unlocked.. but as they are BPO make them a little better then militia.. maybe just a little less then Standard or hell.. BPO == standard.. keep proto suits and gear fairly costly and advanced somewhat costly over standard costs?

Well, why would you want to wear $1000 pants when you can buy perfectly similar pants for $50? It is clear that by wearing clothes you are expressing yourself with price being one of the many dimensions clothes possess. Just remember kids, what you choose to do reflects what, not who, you are and what you want other people to think about when they think about what ( not who) you are as they are while you think about what (not who) they are so that everybody can think about knowing the what's instead of the who's while never actually having clothes since everybody bought virtual stuff instead of real stuff except for the guy who makes both sets of pants while naked thinking who (not what) would actually buy these?

I think it could be possible if it was clear they wouldn't transfer to Legion. I think it's probably pretty unlikely most gear will translate to Legion, particularly BPOs. The important thing is getting the AUR value through, I think, from them. And for specifically the collector's item type gear, that some equivalent for that is available in Legion. The general militia BPO gear though, I don't think should transfer. Though we really don't know what the end answer to how Legion will work, so we don't know what will and won't make sense to convert.

By that logic then, the BPOs in Dust would very likely be converted to Eve-style BPOs where salvage/harvested materials would be required to manufacture. But then that would involve having a manufacturing feature in Legion. And since it will likely be an extremely long time AFTER Legion goes live before we see the Eve-Legion link established, I'm hoping this might pressure CCP into implementing Legion-side manufacturing upon launch.
Considering the recent overhaul to industry with Eve Online: Crius, CCP Shanghai should look into that and apply that feature to Legion while they still have a chance.
But again, remember that many of us who bought these BPOs didn't buy them just so that they will be converted into Eve-style BPOs. Someone like me might be ok with the conversion but others won't.

I'd much rather see ISK payouts increase and Neo proto suits drop in matches as salvage.
I want to be in fun matches where people are battling it out. People do not need anymore reasons to go cheap and play passive.
Make Dust the lobby shooter that it is so that people don't have to make economic decisions in the middle of matches like it's an MMO.

Since it's abundantly clear after watching people play PSHome that vanity items are all the craze in the PS market, it would be wise for CCP to sell vanity items in Dust whenever possible. Trust me, you'd be surprised how much people are willing to spend for a little bling. Yeah, I'm dying to drop $60 on a monocle for my MinLogi. #Legion4PS4 i want 1000$ pants for my min logi! :P Well, why would you want to wear $1000 pants when you can buy perfectly similar pants for $50? It is clear that by wearing clothes you are expressing yourself with price being one of the many dimensions clothes possess. Just remember kids, what you choose to do reflects what, not who, you are and what you want other people to think about when they think about what ( not who) you are as they are while you think about what (not who) they are so that everybody can think about knowing the what's instead of the who's while never actually having clothes since everybody bought virtual stuff instead of real stuff except for the guy who makes both sets of pants while naked thinking who (not what) would actually buy these? it was sarcasm :P

With the deployment of Uprising 1.5 we will be making an important change to the in-game market with regards to Blueprint items. This means that after the Uprising 1.5 patch has been deployed, all existing Blueprint items GÇô including militia items GÇô will no longer be available via the in-game market. This will be an important step towards forging a robust in-game economy for DUST 514, and establish a solid foundation for implementing key economic feats for the gaureme in the future.
Note that Blueprint items will still be available on the PSN Store via the Veteran and Elite packs.
So donGÇÖt forget to take advantage of the in-game market now to secure items that you may need before they are gone from the in-game store!
FAQ:
Q: What is a Blueprint? A: Blueprint originals or BPOs (sometimes simply referred to as Blueprints), are items of unlimited quantity that are always re-usable upon the death of your mercenary clone. Unlike other items in game, Blueprint items do not need to be restocked after death. These items can be identified by their blue bordered icon in game.
Q: What happens to my existing Blueprints? A: Your existing Blueprints will remain in your inventory. Note that from the 8th of October, you will be unable to purchase new Blueprints except via the Veteran and Elite packs on the PlayStation-« Store.
Q: If I purchase Veteran/Elite packs or use another code for a Blueprint, do I still get the Blueprint items within those packs? A: Yes.
Q: Will Blueprints be returning to the in-game market? A: There are currently no plans to return Blueprints to the in-game market.
Why was this done to be a step toward a in game market! Now that is not happening because of Legion so bring back Merc Packs |

If they have no plan, they have no plan. You're only hope is to go to the CPM1 and see if they can bring this up with CCP. But in all likelihood, it probably won't work. And just because the ship is sinking it doesn't mean it's now ok to drill more holes into the hull.

With 80 million ps3's in this world the potential source of revenue for CCP is great .Don't give up the ship. This game can still increase and grow its community and profitability for CCP. |

Honestly, I see better sources of revenue for CCP. They're called vanity items. Decorating suits, decorating the merc quarters, decorating your tank, your weapon, etc. Besides, apparently the recruiter rewards are still offering BPOs.

i dont understand how bpos affect the economy negatively when we dont have an economy and never have, and probly wont ever have one unlss ccp decides to pull their heads outa their asses.
bpos are not bad for anyone never have they been and never will they be, sometimes its the only thing that keeps people playng when the proto-b@stard$ are out ruining pubs for everyone else instead of playing fw or pc.
i really think ccp pulled them down because rouge's plan to abandon dust to build another game, which is also shooting the dev team in the foot for that project too |
