I, and probably many other people, am wondering why CPM1 was even elected seeing as Dust will be ending (or so everyone says). The games I played a couple days ago consisted of the same people over and over. Not that the matches were bad, but started to get repetitive. I haven't seen any squads of the 'BIG' corps lately, unless they are doing their grind immediately at SP reset. My biggest issue isn't the game itself, or its fate, but the fact that everyone is clueless as to what is going on. Version numbers have become hotfixes, and for some strange reason even though everyone is threatening to leave, the EVE-Offline numbers for Dust haven't seemed to change. This is all really just a drawn out way of asking the devs: What is your plan? We would really like to know what is going on. Has Legion even been greenlit yet as I havent seen anything? Or is this going to turn into another fruitless waiting game, the same way we waited for you guys to fix dust.
I'll see you guys on Legion when the Steambox is released

I thought CPM1 was not going to be involved in Legion?

CPM1s main focus will be DUST. It was however stated by CCP that their will be "limited involvement " in legion. I shall try to find the post for you. Ill paste it here if I find it.
But DUST is here now, and my focus is on it. We all play it and it is what matters to all of us right now.

I-¦m curious to see what work you (the CPM) will actually do.
There can-¦t be much to do, when CCP isn-¦t even allowed to change the client code?
Sure, number tweaks, but yeah.. when that is "done", what will you and CCP do?

They can change the client code. Rattati stated it was a possibility.
CCP Rattati wrote:It is also a factor of low hanging fruits versus the "recook" issue. Basically, some content like textures requires a recook of assets, which leads to everyone needing to download the whole client again, sometimes partially but sometimes the whole X GB the client is.
We can do it, but there are many things I would like to tweak/fix before we bother the playerbase with a full client re-download.
If the content gets created, by either the DUST 514 or Legion team, we can push it out.

Just like that little pedestrian button at intersections, CPM1's purpose is to provide the illusion of control, to make the players believe that their input is important, and that they are part of the "process".
No offence to the newest members, but I expect that the CCP Devs will continue to do whatever they want (read: whatever management TELLS them to do) regardless of CPM1's input or opinions, just like they always have.
Fanfest pretty much proved that CPM has very little (if any) influence on CCP's decision-making process. |

Jimmy, if anything, that's why we're here. To continue to evolve and improve the relationship between CCP, the CPM, and the players. So that they value and integrate our feedback more than they have previously.

My real concern, is rather the CPM1 can be considered Legitimate based on a voting turn out below 20%. Especially when the CPM is not even in an enforcing position, but rather mediation.
Its a valid concern.

Good luck with that.
(and I'm only being half-sarcastic when I say that, btw )
Again, no offence to you or the other CPM. I'm sure most of you mean well and have good intentions, and I hope you are more successful than the previous bunch but, given the current state of things with Dust and CCP's (lack of) commitment to it's future, I just don't believe that the CPM as an entity is anything more than a way to keep the remaining players somewhat happy while the game slowly dies. |

The CSM for eve operates with only about 8% voter turnout with no legitimacy concerns.

Isn't it obvious? CCP is stat-padding their concurrent player statistics somehow...
Think of it like this ReGnYuM: High voting turnout, in a dieing game (<1000 max concurrent players).
"The DUST 514 Dev Team is not reduced or affected by the restructuring at CCP."
