Can we fix projectile damage profile? -5 shields +10 armor Why do the highest DPS weapons in the game have this ludicrous damage profile? Fix it! -10 shields +10 armor

Id actually vote for a -5/+5 so its not identical to Hybrid Rail at -10/+10, but the concept is the same. Armor and Shield damage deltas need to be the same. |

I just want to know what the reasoning was in the first place, consider that all of the rest of the weapons have an equal + to - specialisation as far as I am aware.

The issue is that we have 5 Damage Types in Dust and only 4 in EVE."Hybrid-Rail" is weird one and has the profile that Projectile should have had. However they wanted Caldari and Gallente to opposites in Dust so they gave Caldari the opposing damage profile to Gallente and then Projectile got left in a weird spot. Its almost if they gave the Projectile the -5% to shields just so it wouldn't be identical to the Hybrid Rail, but that obviously has its issues. I'd be satisfied if it moved to -10%/+10% or -5%/+5%. Hell if you really want to get weird you could go -15%/+15% if you want. As long as they're equal, that's what matters most. |

I think this as well. -10+10 would be stepping on the toes of the RR in my opinion.
Making it have a small penalty along with an equally small bonus makes it more of an "always adaptable" kind of weapon as opposed to the current "I'm going to shove my boot so far up your ass you're going to be able to tie my laces with your tongue and taste leather for a week" kind of weapon that we have currently.

I think +5%/-5% is appropriate.

Shields would be as ineffective as they are and armor would still be fairly vulnerable because we are talking high DPS weapons. I wouldn't mind seeing -5% +5%, as long as they are equal, but again would a weapon be OP if it has high DPS and -0% +0%?
Think about that, for instance, a Scrambler rifle that didn't do any more shield damage but didn't do any less armor damage. What would stop that weapon? How would you defend yourself? I don't think you could.

That's an option, though the EVE player in me is twitching saying "KINETIC DOESN'T DO NEUTRAL DAMAGE!" but don't mind me. |

Then what is point having weapons that are better against shields if all the rifles have the same damage profiles?
If anything it should be
CR -10 shield/+10 armor RR +10 shileds/ -10 armor AR 0 shields/ 0 armor
The CR being less effective against shields, the RR being less effective against armor and the AR being equal to both since it hybrid.
The numbers are made up just for the example. |

What are you taking about? I never said they would have all the same damage profile, I said the deltas for armor and shield deltas need to be the same on weapons, opposed to the current Kinetic where the deltas are different values. |
