Pikes are the motorcycle things you have access to on the Moon map, the ones that can actually shoot things. Yea, the PvP is just different due to the nature of the game. I freaking love it, the maps are beautiful and the mix of abilities and gear always keeps you on your toes. Stacked games are a problem but if you want to win you gotta squad up, same as in loldust or most other games. My only complain in PvP would probably have to be that you can capture points while in a vehicle. Other than that, I loved it. Oh, and the moon map is just a tiny bit too big for only 6v6. 10v10 or 12v12 on that map would be fierce . The Future

PVE was super fun, and a reasonable challenge (especially on 'Hard', damn you level cap!), but I got my @ss handed to me (.04 KDR XD) in the Crucible event they held other night. Granted, they weren't matchmaking based on skills, and it was my first time in the Crucible (each match on a different map), but holy moly, I need to get gud (gear?). Played Dust last night since the Beta was down, and other than a couple meh matches (eg, 15/4), I was usually hitting the low- to hi-20s with only a few deaths. Made me think: either Dust is an old man's shooter, or I finally got a taste of that CoD-style BS. If that's the case, I'll take getting protostomped any day!

I read something about Iron Banner using your raw gear values so better gear = better advantage, apparently it's somewhat flattened in normal Crucible matches. Also, most people who were in Iron Banner were running in teams, level 8, with mostly maxed characters. Makes sense that you'd get stomped, I know I did lol, but I still came out on top in a few of my matches. Was so much fun :) The Future

My first/only two games left me with a bruised ego and a KDR of .04. Felt like I was using militia fits right out of the Academy again... Anyway, I hope it's better in non-event (ie, basically Iron Banner) matches.

I was literally doing circles around the map shooting blues and instakilling enemies. (Yes you can ride them, it's a random event in forbidden shore that'll appear in your bottom left portion of screen, not a world event) Never Forget

WOW, really? You missed out! There are TONSSSSS of hidden items/chests. I was level 8 in a few hours with over 5000 gems. Killing enemies gives you new weapons/gear almost every time. Unlike salvage in dust (once a month). I really spent most of my time exploring. There is a map where you can fight 500-1000 AT ONCE! They drop massive salvage. when I first started dust, it SUCKED big time.

I think better gear (ie, more explore mission grinding) and feel for movement (the awesomeness of double jump takes some getting used to) will help me a lot. I really look forward to figuring out some good sniping perches, since the sniping mechanics in Destiny make it viable for hit-and-run tactics.

Unlike DUST where there's 16v16 and there's usually a squad of good players and the rest are bad, and now they're all spread out, I've killed four at one point and now have to run to the next in hopes of killing the next four that come out. When I played I thought 6v6 is going to be awful, but it's fun. You know what? That's every single FPS in existence, pointless killing between objectives, or no objectives whatsoever. You play DUST, you're either playing Ambush which is pointless killing, or you're playing Skirmish/Domi fighting over pointless objectives. But forgetting that, the point to capturing objectives adds more points to your score. If you can achieve 20k points as a team, you end the game, or you play for 15 minutes. Each objective adds 100 points to a kill (iirc) so the point is capturing at least two objectives to get an extra 200 points whereas the enemy will only get 100, per kill. I get that feeling with PvE, but at that point I switch it up to PvP or go do stupid things like try and make it past level 20 enemies in the hopes of finding something new and interesting. I'm hoping the story gets a little better as we progress, but it's kept me entertained more than most other games really. And yeah, spaceship fights pls. The other skills are different with things like generating shields, providing buffs and cloaking. There are six classes in total so far, all of them have a load of unique skills but have quite a few similar one, such as the jump, or the skills that change your characters armor, recovery or agility.
