how the **** am I supposed to benefit from this event when every single game I play is a ******* bloodbath?!?!
just came out of domination, we lost by ONE HUNDRED CLONES, we didn't get anywhere near the objective all ******* game, the enemy held it the entire game we didn't do one blip of health on their MCC.
it was me and randoms VS TWO SQUADS, THREE GAMES IN A ROW.
what's the ******* point of this game anymore? if you're not in a squad and you don't have proto gear you may as well quit.
i guess the guys on my team who went 0-18 and 1-17 had loads of fun. guess they should just buy aurum proto gear to compete right?!
I am absolutely ******* sick of domination being the worst game mode in any game I have EVER PLAYED. the killfeed was red for ******* 50 kills. my team didn't make a single kill in probably 5 minutes.
when there will be a proper matchmaking fix? all other matchmaking fixes you have said have happened have been complete and utter lies. why am i constantly facing 2 squads?
it really is no fun playing solo having to face entire ******* squads of proto heavies with proto logis healing them, you can't fight back because you just get them orbital strikes!
CCP just ******* remove domination, it's BROKEN, it doesn't work, it's completely pointless. I can't remember the last time I played a game of domination where both teams took the objective.
ill say it again, beaten by ONE HUNDRED CLONES, THREE GAMES IN A ROW, not getting within ONE HUNDRED METRES of the objective. facing TWO SQUADS 3 games in a ROW.
******* sort it out!!!! |

WHY THE **** do you STILL have MILITIA players playing against PROTO players?
is it all for money? really? you're going to **** all over your entire playerbase just so the people getting destroyed will buy aurum proto suits? You obviously keep the tiers together, this game will NEVER FUNCTION unless you SEPERATE people with 300 health from the people with 1000 health with 30m SP and all the upgrades!
people do NOT enjoy getting nowhere near the objective and losing by 100 ******* clones.
this is the worst online game i have ever ******* played. |

Not if the one statistic you use to matchmake is the most divisive in a stomp.

Play Ambush - this is all I play these days.
Billions of kills (a few deaths), and a ton of isk (about 200k per match)
The matches are more evenly balanced and no way near as terrifying. Even my alts play these and do really well considering they were hatched a month or two ago.

Well, I like Dom. I can't say I like the blowouts, but they have their place. It forces me to be more creative ... finding a more defensible position to drop uplinks, do an end around and pinch the enemy in the middle, but on my cloak and do a sneaking hack. Heck, when I run solo (which I do a lot), and my team is running away with the match, well sometimes it doesn't feel like there is much for me to do. I'm not saying I prefer to be on the losing side, but make the most of it!
If you're a newbie and don't have that much flexibility in your fittings, I can especially understand the frustration. But I have good advanced Logi and Commando fits (also proto for these 2 but hardly ever use), advanced Sentinel and advanced Scout, so I never run out of something to wear no matter the dance

Not really. This is why the game failed and why new players quit and so many matches are just not fun. It isn't his problem and the solution isn't to get gud or HTFU.
I don't think we are going to see a solution but being an ******* about it hasn't worked so you might want to try a different approach.

You just don't do it. Especially when you are solo.
The game is broken when things like that happen. As opposed to a game like Battlefield 4 where the side with a full squad of clan members, can still be killed.

I feel you man. The game is broken... It's finally starting to get on track now that CCP Rattati is here, but the game is still in a very poor state.
I hate to say it, but it's players that have played as long as me that have broken it. I've played since closed beta, and at the very start of Chromosome. Yes, I have millions upon millions of skill points and millions upon millions of isk.
Vets break this game, especially for noobs, then they run on to the forums to complain about how imbalanced it is. A very reasonable minority of them proposed "tiericide", and making progression more horizontal, like in games like Battlefield 4; so that noobs can pick up a gun and kill you just as easily as anyone else.
And apparently, a brand new system of progression IS in the works... but I don't know when we'll see it. (Maybe when Legion starts its beta?)
As far as I can tell, Dust is already a VERY well balanced game...... at the militia and standard levels when you are a noob, anyway. The Academy is extremely fun. Totally, balanced. Good TTK on everyone. No weapons are OP. No one's defenses are too strong. And this balance enables tactics to actually succeed. But the power progression scale and growth in Dust sucks ass. I don't want to say that vertical progression is killing the game, but it is. Specifically, things like shield extenders, armor plates, damage mods, proficiencies. It really seems like these hitpoint critical aspects of the game also serve to be the game's downfall. They effect everything. Infantry and vehicles.
A new horizontal progression system, and perhaps a greater emphasis on EWAR, and modules that allow a more creative build philosophy than "stack hitpoints", would go a long way to make the game pleasant.
For example, why not use high and low slots for weapon mods? Recoil mitigation modules, variable zoom modules, muzzle velocity modules, night vision modules, and things like that. Keep everyones HP similar. No more of this horrible damage and HP stacking and tanking, and put more focus on progression with versatily and utility.
Set your goals high, and shoot for the moon; even if you miss you'll land amongst the stars.

This 'name your weapon' weekend(s) event does have far more cons than pros(oh that was a bad pun), but why whine about it? There is a triple SP weekly cap event going on from July 2nd-9th, with x5 SP earnings per match. Hell, Omega active and passive boosters are being sold to help further the event as well. Look to that event and how that could benefit you ey? |

The ironic part of this whole thing is that the vets seem to think that they are building some kind of legacy. They dont understand that being kings of an empty game is the same thing as being king of your own imagination.

Meh, it's not about vets or sp or isk. It's about matchmaking. I think I heard Rattati say something about fixing it. Oh and it's not even about having too few players. There are plenty of players to fill a balanced match. Hang in there OP, it might get better...
But probably not.

You know, I've read this a million times already... The matchmaking is a mathematical algorithm. It needs to be changed so that it works with the numbers that are available...
Or maybe there should be a cap in the meta level of the equipment you use depending on other players stats...
In anycase, I cannot accept that there is NO WAY to make the matchmaking work... |

matchmaking is indeed an issue. Clever players can get around the issue by changing their playstyle to something more support/stealth/defensive, but everyone else is going to have a bad time.
If there are 2 full squads on one team and none on the other, matchmaking has failed (but sometimes you get partial or full squads of randoms or mediocre players so this isn't always true).
Another thought, if they can't fix matchmaking it might be wise to bring squads back down to 4 players max. Make it harder for one team to be substantially more organized than the other. |

Not saying what you are suggesting is a bad idea; I just think that that big of a change would never get done in Dust (maybe Legion).
Full on tiericide also feels futile at this point because lots of people have done the grind so outright removing the reward for their grind without a way to compensate them would be hard for many vets to handle (admittedly including me). And doing a rejig that compensates the vets in a way that doesn't screw noobs is very likely out of scope for the dev team that will be on dust until the servers shut down.
I think a potentially achievable way to reduce (not remove, but significantly reduce) the incline of the vertical progression is to make all lvls of a suit have the same number of slots and only the CPU/PG is different. Admittedly, that means that someone in a proto suit could use lots of proto modules while someone in a militia suit couldn't, but at least they could still slap on just as many extenders, armor plates, kin cats, etc; those modules just won't be as effective. This would also give more flexibility for new players and building custom fits is one of the things that I loved enough to put up with the significant level of garbage in this game's design.
