Wait, hold up: how are we to get skillbooks if there's no NPC seeding? |

Okay, next question: Why is it so hard to have straight up manufacturing and mining in Legion? Why does everything have to be about going pew pew at clones and rogue drones (which is a silly amount of things to shoot at)? |

Okay, next question: Why is it so hard to have straight up manufacturing and mining in Legion? Why does everything have to be about going pew pew at clones and rogue drones (which is a silly amount of things to shoot at)? It just seems to make sense to allow Eve players to handle the production side of things while Legion players handle the harvesting side of things for one very compelling reason. Eve Online has 11 years worth of manufacturing experience. Their industry is exceedingly robust and efficient and every industrial player there knows how to best produce bulk quantities in a short amount of time to meet the demand. They have the tools, the facilities, and the skills. Legion on the other hand doesn't even have an industry to begin with except for maybe the districts one day becoming the ground work for large-scale harvesting of materials. Hell, we don't know what materials will be harvested or needed for production of the gear we need as Legionaries and we don't even have NPC production facilities for those who don't want to bother owning and managing one. So until Legion is ready for its own industry, it's just easier in the short term to let the Eve player handle the production while Legionaries deal with harvesting. Some people speculate that this will only mean that Eve players will be extorting Legionaries through pricing, but that's not going to be the case if Eve players have to one day rely on Legionaries to provide the materials needed and when the same Eve players have to deal with their own competitors who are willing to snatch up their clients. Competition ensures the prices remain reasonable.
...... And We can use the same person for all accounts, so by that logic, Can't someone in Legion do it as well?
EDIT: I mean, as you said, we're doing the harvesting, so why are they building the stuff? IF we are in a sense the same person, why couldn't you simply plug it in yourself? What, force us to switch games to do something as silly as start a job? |

Fixed. Stop calling it the wrong name. |

What use does each material have for each gear you want to manufacture? 3. How much material and/or salvage can go into manufacturing one unit of an item? 4. What facilities do we have? 5. What about the User Interface for every step of the manufacturing cycle such as refining, researching, manufacturing, and storage? 6. What skill books can apply to manufacturing, researching and inventing? What are their bonuses? 7. Where do we acquire the blueprints? 8. How can we move the materials between systems and regions to a facility that will assemble them into an item?
For 1-3, this will likely take the longest to figure out since you need to account for the variety of weapons, modules, vehicles, and installations to get this done.
For 6, this will take some time to figure out as you want the skill book bonuses to be balanced out.
Not sure about 7.
For 8, that's a tricky one.
And This is the actual problem. Now, I can't say I know exactly the right answer as far as the skills and timers/numbers go, so honestly, I won't even try on that (leave it to the economist to handle).
You answered 4 and 5 as I would, so I won't cover those.
That leaves 7 and 8, which I think I have an idea of:
7: Well, for 7, I say that it works just like EVE's BPO's (minus the skin BPO's, which I really think should be BPO's, not like EVE's where it's just BPC's, which kinda makes sense, as those ships are for showing off and PVE and such, where ships last a long time, versus here, where we'll die easily). That NPC's sometimes seeds BPO's to the market, in which people buys, uses, levels, and eventually sells as a better BPO through contracts (oh, on that note, I really think that we should be able to display comments on contracts to tell people what they are buying fully).
8: Well, I see it as two ways: NPC (aka interbus or ORE, yes, they are going to be used again), or via capusleer. Interbus would be simple: Either it would be
a- Assuming there's no hub for us as a operating center for us to use for ground ops (which should come in), you'd "call" for a interbus hauler to come down and pick up your load, in which after a minute (or 5), it sends down a a hauler drone (modified RDV with a storage crate under it), in which it would take the ore from you (or loot, whatever necessary), back to the ship to a pre-picked destination (probably you would save the station as a drop off point before hand, and then select it). Or you would go the capusleer route and Call on him/her to link to said district, send a drone down to your location, and it basically does the same thing as the NPC. Difference between the two is that the NPC would take X time per jump/warp, and stays on a set course while the capusleer can change course. NPC is also probably only allowed in hisec as well.
b-assuming that we actually do get a hub, It changes to one of three things:
space elevator sends up stuff
a landing pad for the hauler drones (doing it in the field is not possible)
a rocket sends things up
The capsuller option also still exists (it's the same). |

Etc? Fixed. Stop calling it the wrong name. Never, it has and always will be the blaster rifle to me, sounds so much more badass!
1: Get out of your own world and come back to reality, it's called the Plasma Rifle, deal with it.
2: That is an opinion. |
